The last couple of days I've been getting tons of:
Sorry!
The Application Google Services Framework (process com.google.precess.gapps) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again
Im running the latest virusrom, it never used to do this. Its not affecting performance but its really annoying to keep seeing it. I tried wiping cache and data and it seemed to work for a while but then it always pops up again.
Have you Fix permissions? Usually takes care of FC's.

Sent from my HTC ThunderBolt 4G LTE.
i did right after i flashed the rom. should i try it again? im reluctant to since i deleted data again and it hasn't done it in a few days. also when i first fixed permissions it caused problems with contact photos not showing up in the message app. that was a pain to fix :/

I know there are a few threads related to this issue, but I don't feel that my situation fits into any of the ones discussed.
So after I flashed to the KE2 firmware for O2 phones (mine was PAYG), I started getting 'android.process.acore has stopped working unexpectedly' whenever I clicked on the 'history' tab of a contact. This is the only instance I've ever experienced that specific force close, and I can only reproduce it if I click on the history tab.
My phone is rooted, with typical root-related programs such as RootExplorer, Titanium Backup, JuiceDefender Ultimate, Lookout Security, AdFree. I'm running Touchwiz without any substantial modifications aside from some normal widgets.
I have frozen a few programs using Titanium Backup, but these were all from a list of supposedly 'safe to remove' programs listed here: http://samsunggalaxysforums.com/showthread.php/4811-Safe-to-remove-applications-list
I've already done flashed firmwares 2-3 times and factory reset my phone once due to a reboot loop. Everything else seems to be running perfectly.
Does anyone know what may be causing this, for example a system file I shouldn't have frozen etc? This isn't a huge problem at the moment since I don't really use the history tab at all, but I'm afraid this might have bigger repercussions if I don't figure out what is wrong with my phone.
Factory reset or reflash normal method of fixing .
jje
I found out what was wrong.
I had frozen a service called 'LogsProvider 1.0' using Titanium Backup. Defrosting it solved the problem, and I no longer have any force closes.
I'd therefore like to reiterate that freezing LogsProvider 1.0 will cause force closes if you attempt to view the History tab of your contacts (and possibly other unconfirmed actions).
Thanks for the suggestion anyway, jje.
Seems this is a common error among android users.

For the last 2 days I have read and researched typical problems related to this error message;
"Sorry the application Message (process com.android.mms) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try agaain. Force Close"
I have tried any solution I've found, but am still unable to resolve the issue.
I can only attribute the problem to deleting a few bloatapps, namely Social Hub... as it seems everything went sideways after uninstalling.
Anyway, I have been thinking if I could reinstall Social Hub maybe that would work?
Other then that, I'm open to just about anything. I don't use apps much at all, I want minimal bloatcrap... but have performed a few hard resets in order to return to stock (minus Social Hub however!) only to create a folder to move all the Dross apps, as opposed to uninstalling anymore.
Well long winded, sorry, I have searched quite a bit, and tried many of the solutions provided... if anyone has any ideas, I'd be very appreciative.
Thanks
So after starting fresh I was registering a hotmail account and have received another message;
"Sorry the application Email (process com.android.mail) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. Force Close"
This happened when I clicked on the "Email" app... I can't even open it, one click... few seconds later error message appears.
I know there are the "walk-thru's" of the hard reset, and resorting back to default... but can anyone explain how to get EVERYTHING back? The apps I uninstalled, are gone... how do I get them back?
Look through a ROM thread or two, they usually have separate downloads for the Samsung apps that they removed from the ROM for those who wish to retain Social Hub, et al. Get yourself up and running and selectively freeze items rather than delete them until you figure out exactly what you need/want.
thanks for the idea, I have actually gone a route along those lines.
I found this thread (androidforums.com/samsung-galaxy-s2/419294-android-2-3-5-gingerbread-xxki3-update-samsung-galaxy-s2.html) on another board, it updates the phone to Android 2.3.5.
It has resolved all my issues (well so far) and to be honest things seems to look/work a little cleaner.
I'll keep your idea about "freezing" in mind now though as I don't think I will be uninstalling anything for a while. All extra apps are dropped into a Folder to keep them out of sight.
thanks
I have an Atrix 2 (MB865), Android version 2.3.6 and I'm having this terrible problem, searched for answers, tried many things, and still no solution. I need ideas, please!
So, any time I go into one of my phone's contacts, I get the error:
"The application Contacts Storage (process com.motorola.contacts) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. [Force close]"
It's completely stopped working!
I did some internet searching, and what comes up most often is people having frozen some application (usually Yahoo Mail). I haven't frozen anything since long before it worked fine, and then, all I have frozen is Easy Battery because I want to try GreenPower without uninstalling. Anyway, unfroze them, but still no good.
Speaking of uninstalling, the only thing I have uninstalled recently is GreenPower Free after I bought the full version.
More internet searching led me to an answer that seems to help most people: replacing the files in /system/app:
blur_yahoo.apk
blur_yahoo.odex
YahooContacts.apk
YahooContacts.odex
Mine weren't missing, but I went ahead and got the Linux 2.3.6 versions of those files, copied them over, changed the permissions to 644 and the owner/group to root, power booted (battery out), and no good.
Another suggestion was renaming the two BlurContactsSync files to *.bak. Did that, then reboot... no change.
Then I saw something where someone mentioned LinkedIn app asking about syncing, and I recalled I installed LinkedIn and told it not to sync contacts yesterday. So I un- and reinstalled. LinkedIn and allowed it to sync contacts. But when I went in to my contacts... still crashing.
The last thing I did was a complete restore of all apps and data with Titanium from a backup back when I know contacts was working. Reboot. No fix.
I'm now at a complete loss. Any more suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!
Thanks,
Liam

Hello again.
I'm experiencing a new problem with my phone that is becoming very aggravating because it seemingly occurred when I did nothing unusual or risky with my phone. Every time I update an app in the google play store, my phone locks up and will reboot itself. Sometimes it will remain frozen until I hold down the power button myself. This problem also happens when uninstalling apps and installing apps, but it doesn't do it regularly. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. But the phone will always freeze when updating apps. Like I said, I have done nothing risky with the phone. I haven't installed or removed any apps that require superuser access. I haven't downloaded anything to my phone. All I have done is install a few apps here and there from the store, evaluate if I like them or not, and decide if I want to keep them. Recently I haven't been keeping new ones, so I promptly remove them. Out of nowhere this problem shows up when I tried to install another app (thought maybe the app caused it so I got rid of it), and now the updates freeze my phone.
The apps successfully update each time, but immediately after the process finishes, the phone locks up. After rebooting, the updates are saved and the apps aren't corrupt or anything. What can be causing this to happen? Everything on my phone was working flawlessly, and now this problem is seriously hindering the usability of my phone and I don't understand what went wrong.
My phone is the Virgin Mobile Samsung Galaxy S2 4G SPH-D710. It is rooted and is running the stock ROM.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi there,
Have you tried clearing the cache for Google Play Store in Application manager? Try this first! You could also try (I assume you also have a working CWM recovery or similar?) wiping cache and dalvik in recovery!

I've already wiped the cache, data, and even tried uninstalling updates for Google Play and Google Play services. Made no difference.
As for dalvik, I'm not sure what that means. Any pointers would be helpful!

The dalvik cache will probably be under Advanced in Recovery
zj
I don't have CWM recovery. Sorry I didn't know what you meant when you asked that.
Sorry if bumping or double posting isn't allowed, but I wanted to update this thread.
I think I may have solved the issue. Makes no sense as to why it happened or how it's even related to what I did. I racked my brain for the most recent things I installed on my phone and the only app that came to mind was Cut the Rope. It was the last thing I could remember that installed fine. I removed it and nothing locked up. Then I tried updating one of my apps and presto. No freeze or reboot. Then I installed an app from the play store and it worked perfectly. Did it multiple times with no error. I feel like Android is so temperamental that if I even look at it wrong something will break. -_- I don't know. Maybe being rooted has something to do with it, but my guts don't want to believe it.
I'll put "solved" in the title once I keep using my phone and make sure it's working correctly. If so, I suppose the moral to this problem is just uninstall anything recent from your phone if you experience similar issues. Wish I could know the technical cause though.

Lets hope you have it sorted now:good:
Hello internet.
I'm now turning to XDA to look for someone with similar problems. Here we go.
Yesterday my girlfriend came to me in distress, saying that the tablet issnt working and she can't play The Sims ( which was her biggest concern ). So it turns out that switching user and then 3 seconds in the table freezes and reboots.
Tried everything in my not so very good knowledge in Android troubleshooting, clearing cache etc. Ended up with deleting her user. And ofc the game didn't connect properly to Play Games so her progress is lost :fingers-crossed:
I'm hoping this won't happen again, if so, I might as well return it - it has consumed so much time already trying to configure it.
Now after the reset, I can't install apps from the market. They stay stuck at 100% download but won't install.
After some moderate googling, force stop and clear cache of Play Store makes the app (1 app at the time) install/Uninstall.
!Highly! annoying.
So, anyone out there with same luck as me?
Yes. I have exactly the same problem with my CMR-W09 device. I tried to create a other normal user and restricted user and with both account I had the same problem on main user account: stuck at 100%.
I really hope Huawei should fix this problem!
