Would it kill you to spend a dollar or two to support the small, independent developers whose livelihood depends on sales of their applications? I'm not talking about giant software packages that costs hundreds of dollars. Just $1 applications for asdf's sake.

I think he's talking about free alternatives to paid apps not necessarily pirating apps. Pirating apps is illegal on xda.
But yes, angry birds is free and a paid version (no ads) will be available later.
@niko: it does.. it shows the power of the vibrants gpu power. This section consists of general apps too.

It runs on the Vibrant. That's good enough for me
Angry Bird problems
I DLd the game from a mirror site but it's missing some colors on the levels which makes it a lot harder to play. Anyone else getting this problem? Rooted HTC Hero, Android 2.2.1, CyanogenMod 6.
Cut the rope is out for Android, just go to:
m.getjar.com
and select quick download. Enter 75206 to download the apk.
I find it extremely odd that a random site that host nothing but free games is outting a paid game for free... Additionally, nothing was announced. But, I have nothing to lose, so I'm going to install it.

if you go to Zeptolab's homepage (game Dev) their link to get the game takes to to the getjar link. Rovio did the same thing when they initially released Angry birds on Android... GetJar for beta/initial release and then the main Android Market. for now just like Angry Birds, Cut The Rope is free because it is Ad-Supported.
if you just want to go through ZL to get the link here is their site http://zeptolab.com/
Just noticed it, but that's pretty awesome, I'm just curious as to why it was released so quietly.
my guess is they are just dipping their toe in to see how popular it is before putting it on the "main" Market with a pay version to get rid of ads... but that is just a guess

as much as I hate to say it, but I agree... for killing time while getting loaded/unloaded this has become my new frustrating digital crack. sure there are other games out there with much better graphics and such but when you're just looking to kill 15 mins then this ranks right with Plants vs Zombies, Stupid Zombies and the entire Angry Birds family of games
Man this sucks I had made it to Valentine's day box on my vibrant but I traded it for a Mytouch 4g and had to factory reset the phone

AFAIK there's only one n64 emu, that being n64oid. Its not available on the Android Market, though, you'll need to sideload it.
I actually saw a few on the market plus theres other kinds you can sideload
Sent from my MB860 using XDA Premium App
Don't get any of the knock off/stolen n64 Apps from the market.
http://slideme.org/application/n64oid
This is the original. The rest are exact copies of this application, being sold by Other people for profit. I suggest reporting them.
The original got kicked off of the official market for not following the rules of some open source files and releasing his source, but that's a whole nother story.
Swifted from my Atrix.
Well thought I might help some people who may be interested in turning their phone into a mobile gaming device currently I have set up Super gnes from market. On my evo 3d but the fun comes with better game play using my ps3 controller to play. Alot smoother than using touch screen controls if interested let me know. Must be rooted with AOSP rom first I'm currently using miui. And yes I'm sure alot of you may already know but we were all noobs at one point so this threads for you guys if interested

Hmmm last I knew the PS3 controller couldn't be used, but that was a long time ago, and stopped following. I'm glad to hear that its possible. I'm defiantly interested

If you buy the Sixaxis controller app you can pair your ps3 control with your phone.
It can be used but before buying the app get the free pairing tool and must have an aosp rom currently does not work with sense so cm7 or miui are your best bets if you find it does work about $6 in the market and your ready to go $2 for siaxis controller application and $4 for snes emulator there is a free version of emulator but it doesn't have as many features plus I like to stay updated
Sent from my PG86100 using xda premium
Well I'm also a father and student so I will try and stay as up to date with those who would like help as I can so first steps always backup make a nand back up and find a aosp rom I recommend miui then get the free sixaxis application from market and read the directions in the application you will need a pc to change your controlers Bluetooth address don't worry your control will still work with your ps3 however make sure your ps3 is off when changing the address otherwise it will keep trying to connect to your ps3 rather than your phone. Will check in tomorrow to see what else I can help with for now try that out and goodnight

the Infamous Youzh's emu apps are still free if you want to take a look (except the N64, but $5 is way worth it.)
https://slideme.org/user/yongzh
For the record I installed snesoid, gensoid, and nesoid (Google to find cause they were pulled from the market, I had purchased these prior btw but had to hunt them down) and the sixaxis app was like $1.79, and as mentioned the pairing tool is free. Works flawlessly on Miui...

Nice contribution, thank you sirs. I didn't know this, will take a look later.
I have run the paired sixaxis with my 3d and my transformer. great time passer
cant stop playing shadowgun though. best 6$ ever
Will this work for most other games like Gameloft, Glu, Unity games?
Good question haven't tried yet as my time is very limited but I can look into it unless some one else already has. I will be the first to say I'm not the best at anything here just trying to help where I feel I can everything I know has been someone else's exploits that I taught myself through reading and you tube, and lemme tell ya YouTube can be your best friend when in a bind

Hi I read on pocketbook.com that anyone who has a Galaxy S2 can get 11 free paid apps from Samsung Apps. I went to the link on the website and tried to download one and it said I wasn't in the right country? Is there a actually Samsung Apps app that I need to download?

Blame it on licensing and copyright protections.

It says it's valid for 2 months for US, UK, Indian and there was some more countries but it definitely says for US Galaxy S, and S2 andNote. Is there a actual a Samsung Apps app?

Never seen one with galaxy s2 but galaxy tab has it so I was scratching my head. I could get them from my tab then moved to my s2 but I am sure that is not strictly legal.

I downloaded and installed the Samsung Apps apk and was able to install several Gameloft games that were marked "Galaxy S II_Free".

Well there's the option to "buy full game" so I'd guys they're trials. For the gameloft ones anyways

It should be called "Galaxy S II_Trial". Such a blatant misrepresentation.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I777 using xda premium
They aren't trials as far as I can tell.
Gotta remember I posted that yesterday - they probably aren't free anymore.
Edit: Hero of Sparta shows "Buy Full Version", plays through the first level and prompts to buy.
Dungeon Hunters 2 HD is working.
Modern Combat 2 HD is too.
Those are the only 3 I got. I already owned Asphalt 6 HD and Backstab HD.
They are still labeled as Galaxy S II_Free. If they are now trials they need to rename it.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I777 using xda premium
I don't know how many are trials and how many are full. I only downloaded Hero of Sparta HD, Dungeon Hunters 2 HD and Mondern Combat 2.

Where might we be able to find this samsung apps apk?
I found it linked from a site linked from Android Police.
Guys-
It looks like most of the trials are now say that they are trial versions in the description. Also, if you're having trouble downloading, get 'Market Enabler' from the market, and set it to make it look like you're in the UK. Worked great for me.

I found the apk on a thread on xda here. Just do a search and it should pop up. I think it was in the int'l forum.

They must not be offering the full version free anymore. Cause I just downloaded Dungeon Hunters 2 and when it loads, there is a purchase full version button. Pretty lame to advertise it as free when it's clearly a trial version. Nothing in the description mentions its a trial.
