You can try to flash mblaster's recovery with fastboot and then use that recovery to flash another build via usb....but all at your own risk!

SD Card can't be read or formatted - Help needed

I have been using checkrom revolution hd v4 for 2 weeks with DK 2.5.2 with no problems. But after a nornal reboot today, the SD card (internal) can't be read even after several reboots. I tried to formatted it but it can't be formatted either. Just bought my SGS2 two months ago only.
What should i do to recover function of my SD card again? Is it because of the custom rom that caused this issue?
Please help. Thanks!

Try doing a full-stock restore, making sure to do a factory reset, wipe the cache and Dalvik cache along the way. If you're still having problems, take it to a Samsung service center.
That's really strange though - I'd assume that if the OS can't read/write the internal storage, then it shouldn't be able to flash a ROM, or even really load the OS?
just a thought... have you tried to: connect your phone via usb as external drive and have windows do a repair of harddrive.
i had a sdcard which was "read only" under android, after that procedure it worked again flawless
in my case the cause was a faulty titanium backup file....

Thanks for the help! I suspect it might be Titanium Backup problem. The OS finally read the internal SD after a few more reboots but all the data inside is wiped out Not to mention I accidentally formatted my external SD by mistake as well. Sigh...got to restore everything bit by bit. Do you think it could be a media problem initially (i.e. problem with the internal SD)?

[Q] Second Partition of SD disappear (HEEEELP)

I dont know if there are a topic with this but i dont find any.
I create a second partition for link2sd, a ext3 partition, its work but today i changed the rom and my second partition disappear, from my phone and my pc.
I used MiniTool Partition Wizard and not recognize the second partition, only appear the first, my 4GB SD only show 3GB and no way to restore the full 4GB because MiniTool and other programs that i used dont show the ext3 partition to delete it, HEEEEEEEEELEP. I WANT TO RESTORE MY SD AND GET BACK THE 4GB.
You're using a Card Reader and NOT connecting the phone via USB right?
If your phone can read the card, format it using CWM. That'll solve the issue.

I use the phone via USB but thanks for your help, i'll buy a card reader to try that way. But i try to format via CWM and show the same 3GB. But anyway, i'll try whit a Card Reader then comment here, thanks a lot.
cheers mate i have a solution
flash a stock rom with odin
yes thats all your partition will be wiped off and your card will show 4GB again
p.s. : i have learnt this from personel experience though in my case i didnt want the partition to get wiped
ninja edit: and dont buy that card reader ... buy yourself a coke instead
how this happen????!!
This happen during when u wan to change ROM you will make a full wipe that why your partition gone..
how to prevent this happen??
Its easy before you make a full wipe make sure you eject out your SD card ..and after that you can full wipe...after full wipe its done put back your SD card... and flash the new Zip. file

[Q] [SOLVED] phone Does not mount/detect external SD card

Hi guys
I have searched for the answer to this one and it's now giving me a headache.
I put in a brand new sandisk 16 GB SD card. But now when I put ANY SD card in the phone fails to boot.
Looking through CWM it can't even mount the card there.. I have tried NTFS FAT32 (formatted on laptop) but still nothing. The SD CARD still works and is detected in my laptop. I have even tried the original SD CARD the phone was shipped with and nothing.
Even went back to stock ROM and although it booted, it still couldn't detect the SD card and the media process kept on crashing.
ANY ideas much appreciated!!!

what is the reason you put a new card?
something happened to your old one?

did you check in settings > under device, in "storage" > sdcard
if it appears there as an unknown format
if it did, use "format sd card" in the device itself

maybe your sd slot is broken?
since as you stated:
- works on pc
- same happens with an older working card
- not working in stock or cwm
did your phone fell?
water damage maybe?
did something happen that made you switch to a different sdcard?

Wanted more space... Interestingly though the smaller card (4GB) does let me boot but OS still doesnt detect it.

i cant help but think its a formatting issue... but unsure why
from the CWM logs
I:Can't partition unsafe device: /dev/block/mmcblk1p1
I:Can't format unknown volume: /external_sd
so unsure what the hell is going on

do you have a friend or relative with a galaxy s2 or similar samsung device?
i would insert both sd cards in their phone, format them using the setting menu and test again
sorry i could not help you solve the problem, but it seems hardware related, broken sd slot?

SD Card won't mount - FIXED
I'm just trying to get the word out on the fix that worked for me. NONE of the fixes I have searched for have worked. On Cyanogenmod 10, I just could NOT get the SD Card to mount - External SD would mount, but not the internal SD (on HTC VIVID). Out of frustration, I erased the system and SD card from with in the OS Settings Menu (Setting>Backup & Reset>Factory Data Reset - including SD Erase). When I rebooted, I was going to reload a different ROM....but lo and behold...my SD Cards are both working correctly. Please note that no other Formatting worked (ie from the bootloader). One last note, to get the External SD to talk via USB to the PC, I have to put the unit into MTP mode as a Media Device instead of Mass USB Storage.

I agree - I tried many things including re-formatting / remove -> reinstall disk partition using Windows PC / Ubutntu (gparted), reinstalling the ROM / original firmware etc. None of these worked.
I put the card into different Android phones and tablets - by chance, one of them (a Galaxy Tab 2) managed to detect the card. I used this tablet to format the card (and all other cards which didn't work with the phone) - now they all work!
So, the only way is to find an Android device which can detect the "faulty" card and format it.

Don't seem to be broken hardware, because the fault can be repaired. It seems that Android doesn't agree with formatting / partition of some SD cards.
solved

Resetting rooted phone...how???...

Selling my phone and need to know how to wipe all my data a reset it. Not having an sd card makes it a little more tricky (I think). I have factory rooted rom downloaded on my computer, but I don't want to do a factory reset/wipe and not be able to access my phone aftwards. Is there a trick to this? I've done it countless times with an sd card, and no big deal because data doesn't wipe off card, but not sure how to do it on my One.
thanks!
