Download task killer from market. Maybe fast reboot if you want to quit from all programs immediately.
remove gallery app from auto end

I don't understand why 2 minutes aprox the screen turns off.... the music stops.
I already verified In task manager the music application is not in auto-end list.
Any help?

i have the same problem.
So I had this problem for a while. I read on a different forum that there's a bug that links the gallery app to the music app.
Therefore, you need to make sure the gallery app is not under auto kill. Make sure you enable viewing of native apps.

This is awesome I was just about to post about this problem when I saw this. I thought it was something I had frozen in the system apps, glad I don't have to test each application individually that would've been a pain.
Glad I could save you the pain I had. That's why its so important we keep the atrix forums alive!

Spoke too soon, that didn't fix it for me. Oh well back to troubleshooting.

Any chance you could let me know which other system apps you have on the auto end list? I'm thinking it's still a problem with the auto end because it stops after the screen goes off, so it probably isn't a frozen app, or at least so I think
Try removing all apps from autoend list, and test again.
If works... only add to the list apps not related to music, video and pictures.

it is still working for me as well. I haven't had a single instance of the problem in over two weeks.
Make sure that gallery is still off?

How do you make sure the gallery app is not under auto kill? Is there a special app for this or could this be found in the settings? Sorry for the newbie question. Thanks in advance.
If you open task manager and then press menu, there is an option listed to show all native apps, in addition to the ones you've downloaded. After you enable that, click on the auto end apps. section of tasks manager. gallery should be listed alongside the. camera, etc.

the important is that , MUSIC and Gallery are all not in autoend list.
Does anyone else find that their stock photo gallery sometimes hangs? Sometimes it takes about 5 seconds to open, and other times it just hangs at the "loading" screen.
ps. I've only got about 50 photos in there.

Yes. Mine has delay and lag too. Just bought it yesterday.

I've noticed this problem a few times here and there. I just kill the process using advanced task killer and then its near instant again. I think the gallery just gets stuck at times. You may see it running in the built in task manager then close it and try again. Usually works after the task is killed for me anyway

I get some hangs in the Gallery app too, but not as long as 5 seconds.
What bothers me the most is that after uploading an image through Kies Air, I need to quit the Gallery app completely and reopen it for the new image to show up.
I've also had this problem intermittently. Twice I waited more than a minute and ended up rebooting to get the gallery loading again otherwise it just hangs.

I think you just need to force a manual "media scan" to get image changes to be picked up. The app ScanMedia is great for that purpose
The Gallery pauses are probably due to a background media scan running to pick up image changes on the "sdcard" partition. Google should fix this... esp since HTC Gallery can do the scan without pausing.
yeh I get it to, little annoying but doesn't bother me to much atm
The problem does seem to be intermittent, but it does get annoying when I have to reboot the device to get it to open back up again. Hopefully there will be a patch in an upcoming update.
I have noticed that if I save picture from some wallpaper app or from internet browser, the picture doesn't show up in the gallery. I am not actually quite sure what to do to make it show up. My only solution has been restart or then using some other gallery, like just pictures. Also there I have to press refresh gallery to get the new pics showing. This is annoying as hell.
I have over 200 photos in my gallery also have 10 videos...doest lag or hang for me...
Pda ke2 un rooted

yes QP is great even on the lower spec phones, like my SF, but on the SGS2 doesn't QP break the ability that allows you to set a different wallpaper on the lockscreen ? or are you just running both side by side ?
sometimes gallery doesn't launch the pics at all so have to exit it and re open! only occasionally tho.
Just open quick pic and then long press the picture and select set as, then lockscreen and then poof, it is set

Agreed, quickpic is awesome.
The gallery app is laggy to open, and then far too fast once it's open, it's like the phone is too fast for it.
Installed quickpic and never looked back.
no, that doesn't work for me..

If I do what you state above all works up to 'set as', the only options i get under 'set as' in QP are to set as QP Wallpaper or contact icon...
Mine lags as well. But not all the time though.
I just picked this phone up yesterday and I am noticing when I go from my key dialler to my contacts there is sometimes up to a 4 sec delay. Is there anything I can do to fix this? An alternative app I can use? I only have 100 contacts as well
Try clearing data in application manager - phone apps

I am on viper rom. I have floating notifications installed, and in order to enable floating notifications it has to be enabled in accessibility. I have talk back disabled, but for some reason my still wants to talk back screen selections. any ideas as to why?

Oh nooooo!!! I enabled that the other day, and it took me 30 minutes to turn it off, as having it on will not allow u to scroll down. Go back into it and make sure it's off. Also, under your app settings, force close Google TTS.

I forced closed Google text to speech, and I even forced stopped talk back. Talkback is off in the accessibility settings. Now what I've been doing to see if my phone has stopped speaking, I have been opening up instagram, and every time I open instagram my phone says "instagram news". It also does the same whenever I open the browser. Any other ideas?

Does anyone know another way I can remove the Samsung music app? It won't let me disable it. I'm not gonna root it because I believe this phone is great as is. Just when I hit the media button in my car, it always loads the worthless Samsung music instead of Google music.
