[Q] New to Atrix - Atrix 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I just upgraded from a 4 year old blackberry so using the Atrix is pretty overwhelming. Jailbreaking an iPhone is one thing but I have no idea where to get started with this one.
Is there a definitive guide on how to get started customizing and modifying your phone?
Thanks to all who reply, its really appreciated

Roms

Hi all, I have a htc aria with att, and I was offered this phone to get tomorrow. I was wondering if there are a lot of roms on this phone. Because I was browsing through the atrix android development and I just saw a bunch of mods. Also if you can tell me if this phone is worth it?

No custom roms yet but soon.
Thanks for the quick reply, so do you think I should get this phone tomorrow?

I personally do. My last phone was also the aria. Even though the aria had custom roms this phone stock blew it out of the water.
I also came from a attn1 liberated aria. The atrix blows it out of the water stock and now that the bootloader its unlocked its going to blow everything away. Personally the webtop hack has saved my ass many times at work with presentations. I gave my wife the aria, now she wants a atrix.

I had an Aria and gave it up quick for the Captivate. I like the Atrix better than the others hands down! The roms are coming soon we just now have an unlocked bootloader.
Thanks, I will more than likely get the atrix tomorrow! , so I will be entering your forums

Atrix is the path! I'm sure u already know that unlocked bootloader is just the tiniest first step, maybe the devs need some time, but i'm really sure the results will worth all the waiting.

[Q] root 4.5.91

Ok guys so I've been off the forum for a while since im a truck driver and haven't had time to play around with things. So my question is simple I did a clean restore and updated to the new OTA update. Is there a root mod yet for this because I really want to get my webtop hack back and install backtrack 5 on here.
I've look through the dev posts but since all the new break through our wonderful devs have performed im kinda lost on what's what and for what mods and firmware.
I look forward to your response and thank you

Telus Fascinate 4g nice root?

Hi everyone, this its my first post in the XDA forums yey!!! And the question of the day from me is, is there a clean nice way to root the telus fascinate 4g??? I saw the other posts on it and some soft bricking was happening, not to nice. I tried super one click and it hung on the 6 th step. If anyone can help out or direct me in the right direction that would be great!!

Sorry, not at this moment.
There isn't a quick way to root 2.3.4 Gingerbread phones in general, and the T959P is more of a niche model.
I am in the exact same boat as you Greatcdn. I do not want to overclock my phone nothing like that I just want to be able to remove some files I cannot remove without having root on my phone.
Hey thanks for the reply! Hmm yeah this kinds sucks, I like
GB but it would be great rooted!!! Maybe a clean method will come or soon enough.

Is there anyway to downgrade the firmware???
I just got the 4G as a gift and I'd like to try to root it.
I'm guessing the rooting methods are different from the original fascinate?
Thanks,
newbie

The answer is yes. It also wouldn't hurt to look into the Dev forum a little deeper and to look up the phone's specs to answer your questions.

Well I think I figured out the RSD side of it. I had a Motorola Atrix 2 at one point so that's not too new but I know there's so many versions of the RAZR and didn't want to screw up any

Coming from the nexus to a Droid RaZr will mean you have little to worry about. The phone has many aspects which are similar to the nexus like software buttons and a very much stock like overlay. I know that the phone has a lot of support all over the web, not as much as the nexus, but enough.
The Motorola itself has a specialized forum on XDA where everything generic like that will be discussed. Try not to get overwhelmed with excitement or enthusiasm becuase the phone may turn out to be less than your high expectations. I share that anticipation when I am getting a new device. That being said, it is a great device.
As a side bit of advice, do not rush into flashing and modding without reading. It will always end in tears. [BRICK].
Hope you enjoy the phone.
Hit Thanks If I helped.
Just be careful with fastboot files. Make sure you only flash the asiaretail fastboot files that work with your phone or you'll end up with a paperweight.
Appreciate all the input fellas but I recently.got.rid of it kinda miss it but oh well
