Ok this is my story...
I have an x10 pro... have everything installed such as root and xrecovery that is needed to install custom mods.
My firmware is 2.1.1.A.0.16 With 2.1 update1
But here is the problem i am having....
When i try to install the v8 of CM(Cyanogen Mod) it installs everything without errors BUT, it does not go pass the SE Logo with the background and keeps restarting from that point onwards continuously.
Then i installed the hotfix, that helped a little as after i installed it , I got past the SE logo with the background black and it went as far as the custom boot start where it says 'DROOOID' and while that boot spins with its arrow for like 3 seconds, it then gets stuck there freezes and then restarts from that point onwards and does not get into the menu....
there's no harm in my phone as i made a backup wit xrecovery before i attempted anything which is so awesome lol...
But then i tried installing v5 of CM and it worked everything went into the menu and worked fine .... though my sd card was not being picked up....
I have ext2 only is it necessary to have a hotswap and more partitions to make the sd card work on CM ???
please anyone!!! help me with installing v8 Cm moD !!!!!!!!!!
Did you wipe battery stats and factory wipe before you install v8?
Sent from my U20i using XDA Premium App
yes i did... everything i was asked to do... did every step in the forum of v8 cyanogen mod 7 .... still no result....
the correct firmware is 2.1.1.A.0.6
Btw, what baseband and fw are you on?

U dont need the ext2 partition. The ROM uses native apps2sd. Also, try installing the v7 first and flash v8 on it! Hope it helps.

my baseband is
M76XX-TSNCJOLYM-53404006

thanks alot ure info helped although i jst wanted to knw my build number is 2.1.1.A.0.16 how do i change it to the required 2.1.1.A.0.6
ok ive successfully changed my baseband and everythin AND IVE INSTALLED V8 CM7 !!!!!!!! it works fine for ten seconds then it crashes and freezes!!!!!!!!!!!!! ok i hot hotfix mimmi wud help..... but wen i install hotfix it bootloops doesn even reach the menu !!! help???
go to xrecovery
restore to v8 without hotfix
after that
wipe cache
go to advanced:
wipe dalvik cache
reboot
if still crashes
wipe data as well
but make sure to have backup

Hi!
I have SE Neo, I unlocked BL an flashed CM 7.1, everything worked good.
Later I noticed it didn't support HDMI, so I restored my old backup, didn't work freeze at SE logo, later I tried to flash SE Tweaked 8.5 Tom same thing, and of course I wiped all before flashing.
Now I have went back too CM works nice. But I want HDMI to work.
What can I have done wrong? Is the simpliest way to solve this using flashtool and stock rom?
Try flashing with the flashtool.

Restore to stock firmware via Flashtool or WotanServer and then just clean wipe your phone fully(Wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache, factory reset) and install correct ROM again via recovery. Should do the job.
before now instal fw 62 and 53 (original FW) or instal wrong rom (SK17) keep on instal WT19 and then flasing FW. i'am already try and fail tutorial problem same thing in XDA forum. thanks before commentary

Hello i have a xperia x10i and i would like to know how to put cm9 in there. I have a rooted phone with x10 2.3.3 doomkernel-v06-bootmanager-v2.-0 but when i go to cwm and select install this zip FXP129-cm-9-20120714-UNOFFICIAL-es209ra.zip i get a message saying error 7 (the not correct file error). And i cant install it, i have either tried with this kernel https://docs.google.com/folder/d/0B-aW2YAOAvjMaEZDSFBLdWlLTzA/edit?pli=1 and same thing.

Well this kernel does not boot my custom rom (ferralab) and has no cwm so im not able to proced.
I have repaired the phone via sony pc companion, then rooted, installed your kernel and finaly the cwm of the flashtools and still not able to recognize the sony ericsson x10i
Any other help?
the kernel above is for fxp-cm9 roms. if you are using feralab ics, you need to use the ferakernel_ics located here: http://www.mediafire.com/?bt92v0qpxt9varq
Solved mate. Thanks

Don't need any pre-installation of CM9 roms.. all you need Xperia ICS rom and you are good to go...
1) flash the FXP132 kernel using flashtool..
2) Start phone and go to recovery and do factory reset. cache wipe, dalvik wipe..
3) Go to mounts and storage select mount/data, mount/system
3a) Now select format/cache and format cache similarly format/data and format/system
4) Now select and flash the VR's Xperia X ICS rom and restart
5) Go back to CWM and install Gapps and sony's add on apps if you want and restart..
6) Now log in to your google account and download what ever apps you want
6) Go back to CWM and wipe cache and dalvik cache but do not select "Factory/data reset"
You should be good to go
Im also attaching FXP132 kernel with this post so that you dont have to search for it.... Thank FXP for his amazing work....

You must do
wipe data/factory reset
Wipe cache partition
Wipe dalvik cache
Before flashing the ROM
There is no need to wipe battery stats...
Try flashing the ROM again after wiping above mentioned
