Probably only security fixes and fixing of bug that might cause the phone to crash.
The very bad SE service and support is reflected in sales of 1Q 2011.
If they keep doing it and leaving their customers to one side so soon, expecting them to go out and buy the new model, I think SE going to end badly.
Sorry for my english, I speak spanish
P.D.
So sad, I cant post images to show the sales of the 2010 to 2011 1Q of the principal mobile marks. Cuz Im new here.
When I querried about android 2.2 update from Sony, they replied

So I replied
It just makes us upset to know that XDA developers working 3-4
days can import Froyo 2.2 for x10 mini and even saw them importing
gingerbread but a huge team of Sony has no time and Resources to satisfy thousands of customers who bought x8, x10 mini and mini pro.
It hasn't been an year since these phones have announced and Sony stopped supporting them. All I needed
was an option to install applications in SD card. I m tightly bound by
OS. For this reason all other companies launched froyo except Sony.
Don't you feel its effecting your reputation.

And after that I got a Ticket # but NO Reply...
Such a shame ..Sony!.. really not buying the Xperia Arc now... you never know they leave you behind all other manufacturers again..
LAWL. Epic. They probably don't know what else to say.
Funny thing, I asked to them this:
@SEAnswers Why don't you include Dualtouch on X10 mini pro? , as you can see on some webs developers have reached multitouch on our devices

And then them reply:
@D4rKn3sSyS This is often associated with an OS update. We have updated our Xperia X10 mini pro to 2.1 and don't plan any more updates.

There are many news and opinions going on there, in a centralized way. And if, as I see it, the x10 mini update will be available at the same time as the x10 one, then I think information gathered here should be valid for both models.

Why do you insist on posting links containing unsubstantiated claims. These sites are merely trying to gain free publicity (traffic if you like) from users on the internet.
It has already been stated by SE themselves there is unlikely to be further delays. All this rubbish about bootloaders and so forth is complete nonsense.

When I called them on the phone to verify the specifications they told me "the website's information was leading". This means I can sue them if I don't get an upgrade to Android 2.3 ;-)
I was wise enough to save a copy of the page on my hard drive ;-)
according to that the x10 mini is only on android 1.6 so dont think its accurate information
I've had a good old dig around the internet and can also say that Vodafone AUS is/planning to develop a 2.3 update for Mini pro.
Source: Vodafone Aus - Blog: http://blog.vodafone.com.au/blog/device-software-wrap-up-110804/
(they actually say, "Testing has not been scheduled yet. We anticipate testing in 6 weeks") and the blog is updated every week, so keep your eyes peeled
cool. Waiting for it.
"
The blog post lists various handsets and two Sony Ericsson phones, the Xperia X10 and the X10 Mini Pro. The post says that the X10 is currently on 1.6 and that 2.3 is currently being tested and is due to be completed in about 2 weeks. When it comes to the X10 Mini though, the company say that the testing hasn’t been scheduled yet but, that they anticipate testing it in 6 weeks time.
Sony Ericsson have already said they will not be updating the X10 Mini, X10 Mini Pro or X8. So either Vodafone Australia have got this wrong, or Sony Ericsson have done a u-turn on what they’ve previously said. Due to Sony Ericsson’s previous statements, either scenario could be likely as Sony Ericsson previously announced that those handsets along with the Xperia X10 would not be updated past Android 2.1 but, Sony Ericsson changed their mind with the X10 and said 2.3 would be released and was pushed out last week to handsets.
We’ll be keeping our eyes on the Vodafone blog and Sony Ericsson blog to see if any thing is adjusted or any announcements are made. We at SE-Xperia hope that Vodafone are correct though."
fake
Sorry to break it for you guys but Sony Ericsson Australia has posted in the facebook page that this is a mistake of Vodafone and have contacted them to correct the blog spot.

PS: I hate SE...
That is not the news we wanted to here.
there is a slight chance that this is what they're being told to say. as already mentioned, They made a u-turn on the X10 which to indicate that they do have some feelings..
but if it does turn out to be true, then i guess no harm done. We already have it anyway
Very disappointing... Seeing the title of this topic raised my hope... A Stock rom with no bugs would have been nice.
But there sony ericsson australia also write this:
"Good news for those waiting on the Xperia X10 Gingerbread update from Vodafone. They are currently testing the software and expect it to be ready in approximately two weeks."
this is also same that is mentioned in vodafone site so that means vodafone by mistake revealed what sonyericsson dont want to revealed right now...
i think something is cooking...
sonyericsson keep saying no for x10 also but after releasing arc they agreed i think same they can do for x10 mini series also as no xperia mini is out & definately they can came up with 2.3 as many other competitors provide same android version for same typ of processor...

Yes it is its a franchise between erricson and sony
I fear they may be confused by the advent of the "xperia mini pro"... not to be confused with the "xperia x10 mini pro"
I looked into it pretty deeply previously, and from what i could find SE specifically stated that they would *not* be upgrading it past eclair even, not to mention gingerbread.
Why people are actually surprised by this supposed fake post, is beyond me.
We have known for long that nothing more is officially going to happen with these phones. They're ****, and seriously regret ever buying one. If I wasn't so tight on cash, I would have thrown away this crapware ages ago.
No more Sony Ericsson phones... no more Sony stuff; God saves Samsung!!

Does that mean 2011 xperia phone owners will have a Jelly Bean update?
Thank God they've noticed the bone head who wrote the original reply.
I wouldn't mind a JB update, especially since the reported speed boosts thanks to Karmarush's JB ROM and the CyanogenMod 10 ROM.
I'd be using them right now if it wern't for the mobile data bugs.
But I wouldn't want to rush them or ask for ETAs (The golden rule of XDA)

My SGP612, Z3 Tablet Compact from Japan(I think, via eBay) 32GB Wifi, has said that it's up to date via the "About Tablet" settings and the Sony software on Windows and Mac ever since I've had it. Never got the 5.0 Lollipop and now the 5.1 is being released and nothing. Is there something easy that I was supposed to do here or does anyone know any little tips or tricks for this? Thanks very much.
Up to date, 5.1 release is only for: Italy and Benelux regions, speaking of model 612.
But you can flash it manually as I did. Works perfectly, though my region is Central Europe.

Agreed we shouldn't have to but things don't always work out that way.
It is great that we have options and contributors such as @sebarkh to step in with advice that I would never figure out on my own.
I am in the UK and likewise watching out for the update. If it fails to materialise OTA then I am reassured that there is a manual solution. But so far I am very impressed by what Sony is doing both in terms of hardware offerings and ongoing software support. Samsung needs to take heed.

You're definitely right. I'll eventually stop being lazy and just do it myself for sure, just hoping I won't have to. I do really like what Sony is doing too. Hoping for a Z4/5 Ultra this year! Thanks for your help guys!
Luckily the 5.1 update came today for me over wifi, which was nice cause I didn't feel like using the desktop software. Looks great!
Just wondering if I am alone in waiting on the UK OTA update to 5.1.1?
If, for some reason, I have missed the boat then I shall follow sebarkh's advice and use XperiFirm. Otherwise I am happy to wait a while longer for Sony to get round to us.
Hi, I am now able to answer my own question. Yesterday Sony OTA upgraded my UK OS to v5.1.1
So I can defer rolling up my sleeves and getting my hands dirty and possibly voiding my warranty for a while. The need for Root is becoming quite pressing though.
Just stay on 4.4 because the 5.1.1 update sucks! There is no change regarding the throttling issue when brightness is above 50% or when you have automatic brightness activated so, the intermitent lag is stiil present.

It solved all of the bugs that effected me though. :/
No throttling for me anymore on 5.1.1

Is your Nougat not working? Are there thousands of bugs that require an instant oreo update?
And yes, I am SURE the marketing intern having to read all the "OMG OREO PLZ OR IMA CUT YOU" spam will walk right up to the CEO of LG and tell him "Listen here, buddy.. these people want Oreo, we better get Luis from development to sh*t out a ROM by tomorrow morning".
What's the hell........this will be my first and last LG phone....i was a Sony Lover for the past 12 years..........in terms of update Sony is the best.
give it to me
Same situation as mine, was Sonyboy since 2005, and G6 first and the last non-Sony phone, and we were unpleased with Sony's update speed!
The same for me, Sony since 2011 and Xperia X8. Now G6. Sony was almost always disappointing in terms of update policy and G6 was not so bad when it had 7.0... still hoping for LG to slightly speed up the update process for their phones and keeping my fingers crossed

i had a Xperia SP that was amazing phone best phone i had easy for flash stock and custom roms 2 years updates included minors updates but my big mistake was turning to LG phones very low updates and low customers support...they just want to sell only in all way
I just received the ore update for my LG G6 H870S.
This Forum is transforming into Bobs and Vegena Trash Talk.
These are clearly very emotional reactions.
Few people hold onto a phone these days for more than 2-3 years anyway.
Therefore updates are simply unimportant in the overall usefulness of the phone
Even the security updates in that time span don't make much of a practical difference.
Updates are mostly hype, mostly cosmetic changes, with minor feature updates and under the hood changes that don't really impact people day to day
Mainly they are needed to take advantage of new hardware on the latest models.
When you buy any other electronic device, like a refrigerator or TV, do you expect "updates" for your device?
Do we scream to Westinghouse, "why aren't you sending me new and updated shelves and motors for my fridge every year?"
Time to take a breath, a little perspective
If the phone works well and you can use all the harware features, that would seem to be enough....
