Hi everyone,
I've read that forum a lot and founded that main reason why CM7 developing was freezed is Graphics Driver for our chipset?
Acording to specification our Graphical-Co-Processor is same as in Nexus One, or I'm missing something?
Why can not we use driver from Nexuss One kernel?
(I'm also a Samsung Spica i5700 owner, and people from samdroid.org adopt Eclair kerner for Gingerbread by rewriting graphics driver - samsung freezzzz Spica on 2.1)
Just found [http : //opensource.dell.com/releases/streak/alpha-engineering-release-only/] according to make file this is an 2.6.35.7 kernel.
I tried porting this and I got as far as the bootscreen I got past the Dell splash screen thing though. You want the .zip file?
Did you manage to asseble tool-chain process? I mean - do you have any spep-by-spep guid? I've spend 2 hours yesterday by trying sync repositories... My internet connection is not so fast.

I just got a batch of the Avaya Flare Experience tablets... They sent us ten of them as a part of a major order. (it was cheaper to get the package)
Since these are Android-based, I figure there has to be a way to root them.
Anyone interested in working on this?
I have carte blanche since no one wants one while they're all Avaya'ed up.
If they're rooted as regular Android tablets, I'm sure my team will be interested in them.
Unfortunately, I have no idea where to begin.
Any thoughts on breaking the startup sequence or where to start with rooting these?
Thanks!
Ven
Played around the device on my office was able to load an x86 android live usb boot a bit buggy cam not working and some other stuffs but since the infra project was scrapped its much usable than stock firmware. Not realy sure but if the divers were properly loaded and the usb image repacked with flare drivers would eliminate the bugs in any case its a nice tablet to tinker with
here are some proof of concept pics and stuffs , and yeah need a usb keyboard for input, a usb mouse can also be attach , wifi working, touch working, some games will not run/crash since majority of stuff on google play is not optimized / coded for x86
What was the software that you used ? that version?

last i checked the result was that the fireware in our hadset has limitation and so we can kiss monitor mode good bye but that's my research.
also for those interested you can look at my threads both bt and ubuntu i have dropped some links the there with this regard. (i am lazy to search and stuck at other work right now.)
gutted.
do you reckon with gingerbread coming out soon (with the custom roms that will come with that) and now with custom kernels, would it be possible maybe?

If its at firmware level which effectively means we are dealing with hardware level stuff, so that would be a problem.
Note : thanks was by mistake.
Hey folks, I've been trying to get the Arduino Mega ADK to work with two of my devices and so far I'm been totally unsuccessful. Both my Nexus S and Nexus 7 seem to do nothing with connected to the Mega ADK.
So, here are the details and hopefully someone can help out.
First off, I'm experienced with Arduinos and µCs. I'm 100% sure that I've correctly compiled and flashed the demo sketch onto the ADK. In the serial monitor I can see that the ADK will boot and attempt to get the Android device to do something and fails (it tries this continually unless a device successfully enters accessory mode and responds).
Both these devices are supposed to have support for the ADK and I've checked the devices and both have the correct .xml and .jar files for doing so. However, I'm currently running CM10 on both devices and I'm wondering if perhaps the kernel doesn't have the accessory mode enabled or if there's another stumbling block inherent to CM10.
Doing some google research I see that certain updates (4.0.3) have broken ADK support in the past, so perhaps it's just a Jellybean issue? Is there a way of checking kernel options or flashing a kernel known to work? I'd like to narrow down some of the possible issues here.
Hey mate!
I had the same issue, I fixed by using the library version 2 from labs.arduino.cc/ADK. You can download it directly from here: labs.arduino.cc/uploads/ADK/GettingStarted/ArduinoADK-beta-001.zip.
From what I've read the problem is that Android 4.1 uses adk version 2 and has some incompatibilities with the previous version.
Best,
Alex
PD) Sorry for not hotlinking can't do it yet with this account
I've been using that version and still get no response from the Android device. I suppose I'll have to flash stock 4.1 and see if that works, Sadly there's very little proper documentation on this and not a lot of people seem interested in accessory mode devices.

I got the same USB error. I haven't figured out the problem yet, but I was able to get another example from the version 2 adk library working with jelly bean. I think it was called termtime or something like that. It recognizes the phone the and will pop up saying theres an arduino accessory attached and there is no application to open for that accessory. You can change the example code to "Google" and "Demokit" to auto launch the Demokit.apk app.
I just got this arduino adk two days ago and only have one Android device, a Samsung Captivate with slimbean rom, to test it on.
Hi, i've got a Nextbook 8 Premium SE Tablet (NEXT8P12) running the RK29 Rockchip and recently flashed this rom, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1977675 it works almost perfectly however the screen rotation/g-sensor doesnt work unless i flash the kernel from another ROM, which limits the features of the new rom i downloaded.
I've been told it's the g-sensor driver in the kernel, so i figured since one kernel allows g-sensor to work, would it be possible to import the driver from one kernel into another, providing what i'm saying is correct. Please feel free to correct me if need be. Thanx

Problems with generic RK2918 ICS tablet
Hi all!!
I'm new to this forum (and pretty much to Android scene in general), so please, be lenient with me in case I unadvertedly infringe any forum norm. The matter is, I've been looking for some info about a generic RK2918 tablet I bought about 2 years ago, to no avail. As of late, the device is acting strangely (random reboots and/or stuttering running apps that it managed effortlessly a couple months ago...). I'd like to know how to flash it, as well as which rom I should install in order to make my tablet reach its maximum potential. I've heard great things about Oma's CM 10.1 AOSP roms, but I don't know which one would suit my device best.
My device's specs go as follows:
The tablet is a IMD "|97D", a 9.7" inch, 4:3 aspect ratio screen running under Android ICS 4.03
RK 2918 CPU at 1.2 GHz
1 GB DDR3 memory
16 GB NandFlash
max 32GB microSD support
WIFI 802.11 b/g/n support
G-Sensor
dual micro USB, one of them OTG
10 point capacitive screen with IPS 1024 * 768 resolution
2MP front and back cameras
The device is currenly running under its default firmware (i.e. no root access). Any help and/or piece of advice on how to proceed would be extremely welcome. Thanks in advance!!
Sir Oma,
I flashed this rom to my Alcatel One Touch T10, CrewRKTablets_RK29_AOSP_4.2.2_r1_v1.3_20130714 with stock kernel 308 Alcatel T10 and
applied CrewRKTablets_AOSP_4.2.2_Format_NAND_fix. It is pretty stable however the battery status monitoring is not working. I have also
tried the other kernels said to be compatible with T10 notably the Pascal2 kernels. They seemed to work Ok but the screen display was
off-center, display was leaning to the right side of the screen. Same result when using the other stock kernel 308 Alcatel T10_2.
My only concern is the battery status monitoring, it remains stationary all through the whole hours of tablet use. Charging detection
is also not working. The rom however can detect the current battery status only when rebooting. I did try to apply the akku fixes for
JB and CM10, (though not intended for the AOSP rom) none worked. It ended up in bootloops.
Can you suggest a battery fix intended for CrewRKTablets_RK29_AOSP_4.2.2_r1_v1.3_20130714 rom? Of all the JB 4.2.2 offering found
at CrewRKTablets site, this rom proved to be useful and stable to my Alcatel One Touch T10 tablet. There are some minor function
issues like display resize "fit to standard screen" option, it does not work. Camera image is upside down. But I guess to a standard
user (like me) these function should not pose a serious problem as installing and running apps intended for JB 4.2.2 works smoothly.
Thank You and More Power!
@ tinko75, tried the BQ-pascal kernels too but to no good.
