Is anyone else having issues with their charging port? If I move my phone a certain way it will stop charging. I then have to wiggle the USB cord to get it to charge again.
Should I call Verizon?
I have not had any issues, but it sounds more like worn out from wear-and-tear problem. You could ask Verizon, since we should still have our warranties intact.

Please help anyone,
I have tried a number of different car chargers including the SE AN 300 which apparently is the recommended one, and of those that actually worked they all have a problem.
Sometimes they charge fine but often the phone will stop accepting a charge even though the charger is lit up and apperently working. Un plugging and re plugging in the charger will fix things for a while but then it stops again.
The handset charges fine from mains and pc usb, its just from the car I have problems.
Any ideas? This is really getting me down now as I work away from home a lot I really need reliable on the road charging.

There's a problem with the x10 stopping a charge when it hits 100%, and won't start again until it reaches 90, is this the case?
Android Variations: Check em out!
Hi,
It gets down to something like 5% and sat nav closes.
I have a theory that I am toying with;
The crappy coily lead from the charger is under some tension due to the positioning of the phone on the windscreen. I wonder if this causes an intermittent connection which, maybe due to SE battery protection circuit, causes charging to halt.
What I intend to do on my next long trip is to relieve the tension on the lighter end of the cable so the charger is left undisturbed in its socket to see if this cures things.
I'll post back when I have done this
The battery on one of my viewsonic g tablets (yeah, I have 2 for redundancy) doesn't charge consistently. If I wiggle the power cord in the connection, sometimes I can get the orange charging light to come on, but it's not very consistent.
I think the issue comes from when a kid or dog tripped over the charging cord a while back, and something might be loose inside. (The other g tablet still charges and works fine.)
Anyone have advice on what to do? Is it worth the effort to take it apart and try to re-solder a loose connection, or contact someone for service?
Thanks!
Hey, been on these forums for a while, I rarely ask for help (been pretty lucky with the phones), but I have a question.
My phone won't charge. Or rather, it requires a time consuming process of fiddling, unplugging, replugging, and sometimes minor surgery on the USB port with a toothbrush or a tool I've crafted out of a Q-tip. However, after a night of charging (or some interrupted equivalent that results in a charged battery) the battery quickly depletes while still plugged in.
This is most clearly illustrated when yesterday, at 8:45 I rolled over and checked my phone to see if it had been charged. Pleased to see that it had been charged up to 100% I fell back asleep. When I woke up again to go to school at 9:10, my phone was entirely dead. I couldn't even get it to turn on to the point where it showed the I9100 screen. After following the time consuming and frustrating process of fiddling with the USB port and Micro USB charger, I coaxed the phone to show the powered-down charging screen, where I left it to charge to full.
I have been experiencing this over the course of a few weeks and I have tried many chargers, but only one of them will work at all (Interestingly a Motorola cord). Upon inspection of the USB port, nothing seems out of the ordinary, though the 2 prongs on the outside of the USB port male receiver look slightly different than the inside 2, though they difference is symmetrical.
Does anybody have any idea of what could be plaguing my phone? USB or battery? This is my second SII, a replacement one after my original one was tragically lost in a hot tub . Any thoughts would be awesome.
Thanks
Braidonh
If you are using Siyah kernel have you altered the charging current through EsTweeks?
If so then it is possible that the battery / charging circuit has been damaged. Try resetting the values to default (I think its 700mV on AC and misc and 600mV on USB but dont quote me).
Failing that then some hardware trouble shooting (trying a new battery / external battery charger) will help you figure out what is going on.

My signature is quite outdated... Currently just running CM 10.1 with stock everything. Haven't tweaked anything in that capacity... but will try my other battery (if I can find it). Thanks!
I was having this same problem with my HTC vivid. I tried charging with may chargers, the phone claimed it was charging (orange light lit up) but the phones battery was dying while plugged in. Just like you said, the battery depleted rather quickly when plugged in. Since my phone refused to accept any form of charge I bought an external battery charger and some extra batteries.
However, last week I wondered if maybe there was some sort of dust, or small pieces of sand inside the Micro-USB port on my in my phone that were possibly "blocking" the charger from properly charging.
So I bought an air duster and blew air into the USB port of my phone. I guess there must have been something in there because that fixed my issue and now my phone charges!
Now I have 4 batteries for my phone and an external battery charger.
Try it on your phone, see if you have the same luck I had.

Maybe I'm missing something here because you seem to be experienced on this forum and understand about searching first.
Anyway, this sounds like the common USB problem that S2s have. It can be the jack or more typically, the flex cable. You replace the little board. Search for USB in this forum. I just changed mine with one I got on Ebay. Cheap and easy.
For some reason, my battery only wants to charge when it's plugged into my computer. If I plug it into the wall, the battery page displays that it's being charged by USB and not by the AC Adapter that came with it. Plus it charges very slowly, even slower than my computer. When I plug it into my car charger, it doesn't charge at all.
Does anyone else have this problem? I'm gonna charge it for a while and try flashing a new ROM, it started happening since I got on a certain nightly update.

I"m having this problem. Read on another forum that several people were experiencing problems with charging. One guy opened up the phone and noticed that a few pins to the usb port on the phone appeared to be burned/corroded. I went to Verizon today and ordered a replacement. I'm not thrilled about the idea of getting a refurbished phone and may just use the purchase protection from my credit card to get a new one. Not sure if it's something that's been fixed or not or if I'll have the same problem with the replacement phone.... keeping my fingers crossed.
Are you still having the problem?
I just received a brand new gs4 from squaretrade after breaking my old one, and it worked great for about a week, and then I couldn't charge the phone. At first it wouldn't even recognize that it was in the charger, but now it shows that it is charging when I plug it in, but it doesn't charge at all. Anyone else having this issue or know any ways to fix a possibly damaged micro usb port? Thanks in advance
