Hello there,
I recently changed from symbian to android.....Can some help me on how to apply themes in wildfire ...especially this one
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1060333
Theming is very different in Android compared to Symbian. What you see there requires a Custom ROM with a Theme Chooser App inbuilt into it.
So, if you have a Custom ROM (Cyanogenmod 7 or Ginger Yoshi), then just install it, and choose via Theme Chooser.
Obviously, you will need root for it, which will not be possible via software if you are on Android 2.2.1
then if i update to 2.2 can i root?
No. Please read again. If you are 2.2 you can NOT root.
Until down to 2.1, most people stuck wit dis take time to read around, you'll find your
ok mine is 2.1 and am planning root it and use cyanogen mod...after doing this am gonna install the samsung touchwiz by rolle..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=709763
will this provided touchwiz file work with wildfire without the need for rooting...?
if so ill updatet to 2.2 officially and install this launcher..plzz guide me
Its under the Nexus One Forum, so its unlikely it will work. There is some user who has developed TouchWiz for the Wildfire, and you can find it at the Wildfire Android Development Forum (Just use Search).
As for root, I don't know whether it will work without root or not, but, I would personally recommend you to not update to official 2.2.1 because you will lose the ability to root (Even if you do not intend to install Custom ROMs - At this point of time), and you will have to stick with the stock functionality, meaning you will not be able to change your mind later about installing root apps and Custom ROMs like Cyanogenmod.
Of course, if you are 101% convinced you will never require root and Custom ROMs, you are welcome to update to official 2.2.1
thanks alot for the advice ...i decided to root and install CM7 rom....can you provide me the link for the touchwiz file for wildfire...ill search for it too...
Good idea in not going for the official 2.2.1 update. It will atleast keep your options open for alternatives, even if CM7 doesn't suit you.
Anyway, here is Touchwiz for Wildfire.

IV. Flashing a custom ROM - Rooted 2.1 v0.8T2...
what does this actually do and change on the phone (followed the other 3 sections?
If i don't install this: Rooted 2.1 v0.8T2.zip - what effects does it have on the phone and if don't do i still have root access? (could case a problem if i get the OTA update before doing this)
If i do flash this ROM can I go back the original ROM??
and does it change the GUI (HTC SenseUI) i have currently have and effect the way the apps work?
I ask because i have read about some issue with exchange calendar syncing with 2.1 stock devices. My understanding is HTC SenseUI also changes the way Androids native Mail.app, Contacts.app, and Calendar.app function.
Currently the exchange calendar works after doing the first part, however, i rather not install a custom ROM w/o fulling understanding what it is i am changing. My calendar is the main reason I have this phone.
I know not all of these maybe answer but any help would be appreciated. If you need me clarify I can.
Thanks.

if you are looking for stock SENSE ui ...ivans 0.8t2 is basically that, stock HTC sense with root built in, very stable and very stock, this is why everyone suggests using that rom when you first root ...... then you can tinker and try others out if you like ....
Now we have root for the X10 mini is it possible to install Android 2.2? I know people used to go on about hacking the bootloader with the old root methods, but do any of these new root methods pave the way to a custom Android 2.2 build being made? If so how far away are we from seeing this? Sorry if my question sounds basic but I know very little about this form of hacking. What about setting up another bounty to encourage developers to build a custom 2.2 ROM? For me Android 2.2 has some really nice features like native support for wifi tethering.
No man, you always need bootloader to run unsigned or custom images.
A.k.a a CUSTOM ROM
Just wait a lil the x10 bootloader is almost cracked and it should be ported (our at least port-able)
That is unless the geniuses working solely on the x10e don't get it first
Hey guys,
after some searching I still don't have a clear answer, so maybe you can help me.
Just one question: Are there any custom roms for the X10, maybe CyanogenMod? Just all except the standard default X10.
and Please give me (if not included) a way to flash my rom/X10.
Thanks in advance!
There are no custom roms. All "modding" available at the moment is debranding and rooting.

Nothing other than the apps from the market? Anything special, or just different to enhance the usability for the user or something?
Special homescreens or suchs? (other than the market, as i recall)
there are no custom roms for the x10 has Sony have got everyone by the balls and blocked developers being able to develop for it. I only signed up here on the weekend and this is only what i have pciked up from reading other threads so it may not be 100% but no one seems sure if there are any developers still trying to crack the x10 as they could just develop for another android phone without having to crack it first.
The only customisation you can do is changing your launch bar, themes, icons and fonts and adding certain widgets. Having a rooted X10 will allow you to install certain apps which wont work on non rooted phones.
Its late. I've been on these forums for hours trying to figure out how to theme my Samsung Galaxy S with MetaMorph. Its the stock ROM I believe (just rooted using UnlockRoot). I tried several times to get this took work, with no avail.
I would like the red themes from this thread if possible.
I'm no noob at computers (I have a programming degree for Pete's sake ), but I'm new to the whole Android Root ... thing. Idk.
All help is greatly appreciated.
