Hi,
Here is another boot animation for you, a port of zoom quilt 1 and 2.
See this link for info: Zoom Quilt 1

This is Zoom Quilt 2: Zoom Quilt 2

This has been updated to be a CWM zip and it also has a logo.bin replacement. You can revert back to the stock logo.bin by flashing any sbf or OTA, using fastboot flash logo logo.bin from an OTA, dd if=logo.bin of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p8, etc.

When using a boot animation previewer it's laggy... something tells me when i put this on the atrix its going to be just as laggy... and 35MB?

Hi,
I like it, it's different. For those who have some other use for the free space on /system I put up a smaller version, just contains the rescaled original pics with no generated intermediate zooms. The nature of the animation is that each pic gets zoomed before displaying the next one, I tried to duplicate that in the boot animation by adding more pics.
Cheers!

wow, quick! thanks man

Np I already had it halfway done, wasn't sure how smooth it would be, trimmed it down from 525 images to 176, only one intermediate between source images. The original zoom quilt is 45 images, the second is 87, both at 800x600, I ran a script using imagemagick to zoom in and crop out a section of each pic, then used Irfranview in windows to convert to indexed in batch mode. For some reason, ImageMagick doesn't like indexed pngs on my computer, convert -colors 256 apparently means take image size and quadruple it.
Cheers!

here are some animated gifs I made. give them time to load. Even though I reduced them in size by 75%, they are still a little chunky for an animated gif. (the originals were ~45MB)

Updated the bootanimations, using jpg instead of png, if I had known that I could use jpg's it would have saved me some time.
Cheers!

jpeg smaller by chance? also, i ported the second one to my buddies phone and he is having problems with white flashes, did i do something wrong? pm me and i'll send the current file to you. http://forum.sdx-developers.com/transform-2-2-themes/zoomquilt-boot-animation/msg188457/#msg188457 is his upload post.

Hi,
By using jpg, the files are half the size, what was 30MB is now 15MB. I don't see any thumbnail files in the archives, but yeah that would cause artifacts if you use windows. My phone boots fast enough I don't get to see a second run of the animation, lol. Also I add to archive using 7zip with zip as the format, store as the compression, since compression can be an issue with android and resources. Unzip on the phone can't unzip the files 7za creates, so be aware of that as well. I

Heres the original thread Here
Can anyone make it so it fits the aria and runs at the same speed as this picture?
edit* i took the time to resize all the pics in folders "part0" and part1", you can download it from here.
Now if someone would take the time to zip/compress (apparently i don't know how :/) then make it possible to run through recovery, that would be great

I gave it a quick try last night from my laptop but couldn't get it to work. My laptop is running Ubuntu which I'm not super familiar with though. So I may be zipping it wrong. I know in windows you have to zip it without compression in order for the boot animation to work. Ill try messing with it again if nobody beats me to it.

yea im not all to familiar wit ubuntu as well
just change the sizes in desc.txt in the zip to the aria screen size

I did. Its the rezipping thats causing the problem I think. Im just getting a black bootanimation after changing the resolution in desc.txt and then repacking it. The unmodified one shows up fine, just not sized right, so I know it works so thats what leads me to believe that its not getting zipped correctly.
dont unzip it just pull desc.txt edit it and drop it back in
yea i tried and all i get is a black screen bootanimation
Unfortunately, since the pictures were made for 480 x 800 (3:5) devices, a simple scale down to 320 x 480 (2:3) distorts the dimensions of the picture so everything looks "flattened" or "stretched outward."
*Update on first post
I took your resized images and repackaged them in a zip you can flash from recovery. I havent had a chance to actually test it out though so let me know if it works.
View attachment Bootanimation.zip
thanks, Update* it still shows a black screen, imma look at the wildfire thread, since i was able to get the boot to work on my phone through recovery and see what they did that we can probably do

Hmm now that I look at it i see that the file size I posted was only like 140 bytes...the original was over 300 kb wasn't it? Something is definitely getting screwed up in the zipping process...ill try my windows machine tonight. I've gotten plenty of bootanimations to work using windows.
Sent from my Liberty using Tapatalk
yea about 338 kb
So is there a flashable version of this yet? I tried copy and pasting in root explorer but no luck. Am i doing sometgung wrong.?
Sent from my Liberty using XDA Premium App
yea right now we don't have a working version but we are working on it, if you want a working version. .there is thread over in wildfire area with a working bootanimation for our phone but the animation is smaller than our phone
I am attempting to make this a working version as well! )
@ValkyrieLiberty
well you have our resources and can probably get further then we can, were just having problems zipping the content back up to flash and can't seem to.
ok so ive tried modifying the desc.txt and running it with the 400x800 .png's. and that didnt work. So I used the modified desc.txt file with all the .png's resized to 320x480 and still a no go. All Im getting is a black screen with this one. I did the zip with no compression. Here's the desc.txt if anybody else wants to give it a go...I accidentally deleted all the .pngs resized to 320x480 but its fairly easy to do online if anybody else wants to give this a go...

[Boot Animation] Barber Android vs Apple ported

This is a port for the Atrix of the gray and black dancing Barbershop Quartet taking out Apple. Thought it was funny, so ported it over for the Atrix. Just like the original, it loops at the end of the standing Android with the word flashing.
Original: charlieb620
Special Thanks to charlieb620 for great bootanimation!
I get bored from time to time, so just smack the Thanks button for my own little ego if you like it, hehe.

Same here. Black screen only. I already chmod 644 the new bootanimation.zip, no effect.
*edit* it seems when you zip the animation, you need to store instead of compress (inability to uncompress at boot time I guess). Will try this in a bit.
*edit 2* yup, that worked. store, not compress (zip option, works with 7zip)
Odd, I did No Compress like I always do. Must have happened when I edited the doc and readded it to the zip. WIll replace them in a bit before work.
Updated the downloads after rebuilding the zips, sorry bout that lol. Looks like it did redo the compression when I updated the txt live. Ah well.
Think my next port will a bios boot animation customized not only for size, but try to edit it for processor, etc that matches the Atrix. Depends on how busy work is this weekend
nice job MrSER!
Black working for me, thanks!
Dude, thanks a lot for this. I installed the black using adb with no problems. You should find a sound that goes with this. lol
can someone explain how to install this.. i kow it goes into system/media..... but do we just rename the downloaded file bootanimation.zip?
Correct, you simply rename it to bootanimation.zip. I recommend renameing the original bootanimation.zip to a different name first in case u want to ever restore the original animation.

This isn't working for me. I see the logo my phones does a small vibrate and the screen dims then it goes to the lock screen before it finishes the boot animation.

[BOOT ANIMATION] GingerBread Anatomy

Here's a cool animation I was holding on to in case I did a GingerBread theme. But I don't think I will so...
Original art is by freeny, Superb job IMHO.
Just rename to bootanimation.zip and overwrite the one in your /system/media directory. Set permissions to match original.

Sorry, without the original project file I can't do a black background. Can't simply key out the white because it would also remove the white that I want to keep. And it would be a hell of a job to roto each frame.

Aw man that sucks. This is sweet, but it's so bright white...
The animation goes well for the first turn, but when it comes back around to the front for the second time, it skips/freezes until full boot. Evo, Fresh 4.0.0.4 ROM.
I'd REALLY love for this to work right, as I've set the boot sound to Dethklok's "Go Forth and Die" (seriously, it's great with the Gingerguts), but I don't want it to look jank.
Thats really cool and it reminds of the garbage pail kids for some reason lol

could someone help me installing this on an evo im running speedy shift port and theres no boot animation under the path listed.
edit: so 1st I placed it under /system/customize/resource and it still played the stock bootanimation w/ sound
2nd I moved the spc_bootanimation to my sd card and it played just the word "android" w/ no sound. Like Decks roms boot animation.
3rd I renamed it spc_bootanimation and it played yours but w/ the annoying stock sound fx and then it started stuttering and wouldnt rotate anymore. I dont know what else to try. Im gonna stop though before i break my phone lol.

I just downloaded a new bootanimation from UOT's kitchen and extracted the animation.
I went to /system/customize/resource/ and deletede the file bootanimation.zip.
The file is a "read only" so you need permission to delete it. I the copyed the new bootanimatio.zip to the same place and restarted - and i worked.
If you don't hav access right to the fil, perhaps you actualy didn't replace the file.

This version is optimized for the atrix resolution at 540x960. I suggest editing the desc.txt to your resolution for other devices.

Three (3) times I have put this into /system/media/ and then over written the previous animation when the pop up asked if I wanted to over write the existing file with that name. Three times it has not worked....Such a shame, I thought this animation really looked good :-( I now OFFICIALLY give up! LOL

I don't know what I'm doing wrong but when I download the rar file and unzip it, there are three resulting files which are .psd files labeled Now Card wide, Now Card 3x2 and Now Card 2x2. I don't see any .png files to use. Also, the .psd files do not seem to be a completed card on two of them, just the pictures. What am I doing wrong?

PSD files are opened with Photoshop. It costs a lot (unless you use alternative methods). This lets you make/edit your own. I'm not sure if GIMP opens up PSD files natively but if it doesn't, I'm sure there's a plug in.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
From what I can gather, the OP took the banners off of the play store and used them as the images. Then he took the icon and made it greyscale. An added note for everyone is that you need the "Roboto Regular" font to use it for the titles. You can find it in the "Fonts" folder of any ICS or JB rom.

I have photoshop, that's how I opened the files. I appreciate the explanation but it was my understanding from the OP that there were png files that could be used with Desktop Visualizer thus eliminating the need for us to make them in photoshop. Did I just misunderstand?

I believe so. You need to set them up and save them (save as) a PNG format. I will ask the OP if either he or I could put this in the main (not device specific) themes and apps section to get it more widely known. I'm sure people would start making them and we could get a pack going.

Appreciate the effort - But......these wallpapers are not QHD - they are lower res images stretched upto QHD and as a result they look awful! Terrible quality.

Thanks for the heads-up, saves me the download.
It's been difficult to find a proper (native resolution) wallpaper for QHD phones... 4K-res wallpapers only have what, 2100-some pixels vertical? Which means it'll be stretched on our phones.
I ended up just downloading an Apple "5K" wallpaper since it's 3048px vertical.

I know because I downloaded the pack, one or 2 may have been actual proper images, but the vast majority are upscaled and simply look awful on the Note 4. They're the same quality as they appear in your posts on the first page. And they look pixelated even on a 1080p monitor.
As i said i appreciate the effort... Some people may like pixelated images.... I dont... Ill find images elsewhere.

Not going to lie... These look terrible. As previously stated, these are NOT 1440x2560 images. They are merely low res images blown up to the right size.
