Has anybody noticed that there is no Peep in the Flyer? It actually is installed and you can see it from the "manage apps" menu, but it is not in the menu and when I launch the Peep Trends widget it comes up empty because no Peep was configured. It works perfectly fine on my Desire HD, though.
And one more thing, on the HTC Flyer it was presented with skype in the middle of the bottom dock and yet there is no skype support for it really. Does anyone have any idea what other software can be used for video calling between Android and PC?

When the flyer is upgraded to honeycomb 3.1 soon google talk and skype will support video chat to pc.

Does anyone have a HTC Hero on 3? I'm looking to get a copy of the stock ROM from the unit. I'm a three subscriber but have an unlocked Hero bought from a third party and I'd like to get Skype working on my device. You can contact me via the boards or through this username on gmail, gtalk, etc.
I have unlocked htc hero on 3 with no problems. I don't have stock rom from three network, but you can get "skype for 3" working if you look on the market.

Trying to video call my girlfriends macbook pro using the yahoo video chat. Not working... the option is grayed out like its not there. File sending and IM works fine. Is this a apple specific problem? Annoying!
I cant video chat with yahoo on mac either... just PC. I think it is a compatibility issue. Hopefully they will fix this soon!

I just signed onto my work computer (PC) using a secondary Yahoo name that I have and tested, video didn't work but then again I'm betting our firewall here in the office is blocking ports.

same here with mac/yahoo test.
Also - I cant get video through 3/4g. Only wifi on yahoo... FRING seems the fastest so far and you can connect with gmail accounts.. quik was ok.. I had to set my data to cdma only to connect for some odd reason on fring.
*EDIT* I got yahoo video working on 4g with my own computer... some reasons a friends would not see mine... hmm i wonder if it was verizon fios to blame or their versions of messenger... weird how wifi worked...

well i can video chat to a pc no problem but i dont have a mac to test that on. once i first opened the yahoo messenger it took me to the market to download a video add on for the messenger so i did that then signed in to yahoo and instant messaged my friend and i hit the menu button then i click video chat and it worked perfect but only over wifi. i get crapy 3g in my area i guess so my internet isnt fast enough to run the video chat without wifi

So I bought the HTC EVO VIEW 4G and I have a Sprint account synced with the HTC EVO 3D. I don't really want to create another account for the View. Is there anyway I can disable the 3G altogether to make it function just like a flyer?
I also want to know if it's possible and how to sync my phone to the View through bluetooth to get my phonecalls and text messages to appear to the View. Is this possible?
There should be a program called "transfer" or something similar in your programfolder. This should sync sms, calenderevents, contacts via Bluetooth. dont know about calls, as the phonefunction is disabled by default...

Why not use Google Voice? You could forward through, receive messages, etc.
I am getting a Flyer soon, and am so excited, I'm already planning out everything I want to do with it. There's one thing I wanted to run by you guys and see if there are any better solutions. I plan to use TexTab to receive and send texts on my flyer, but then I also plan to use it for email and such, so I was trying to think of a way to silence notifications on my phone when I am using my tablet. The solution I came up with was to use AutomateIt Pro (Like tasker but much cheaper) to set up a profile so that when my tablet connects to my phone via bluetooth, it silences all notifications except the ringer.
Basically, I was just wondering if anyone else has/knows of a set up that might be better/more efficient? Maybe there is a single app that does everything I want?

I use Google Voice to receive text and make phone calls on my Wifi only Flyer. Works like a charm.
There is also SyncSMS which syncs SMS through DropBox, but I prefer Google voice because it adds a lot of phone /voice mail / text features.
I'm looking at the app now.. couldn't you just check the "enable notifications" box on the tab and uncheck it on the phone?

I tried to create post about using whatsapp on flyer. Problems, questions and (hopefully) solutions can be found here.
#Empty Whatsapp Contact list
I tried to figure out getting Whatsapp working on my flyer,
1. Using stock GB, which give me result device not recognized.
2. After I upgrade to costum HC, it let me to register whatsapp to their server.
>the problem is, I was not able to chat with anyone in my contact list.
Because the contacts in Whatsapp are just plain empty.
Solution:
Go to the setting > more > show all contacts(checked)
Whatsapp : 2.7.4106
HC : LeeDroid 4.1.0
I can't even get to register whatsapp on the Flyer... They just tell me that it is not for tablets.
I'm on LeeDroid 4.1.0 too
Ever since upgrade to HC, WhatsApp works fine.
Try save contacts with +country code. Also try refresh contacts in WhatsApp.
