I took a phone with the original stock ATT android 2.1 and I ran unrevoked using a custom revoery I found on XDA called hoxnet_liberated_hfr005b.zip I used the .img file for unrevoked. Then i realized I should have loaded clockwork instead. Now I can't do anything even hard reset doesn't work
I loaded Hboot and it says Liberty PVT Ship S-ON
Hboot- 0.57.0000
MicroP-031b
Touch Panel- STN21-03
Radio-7.08.35.06
When I tried to root again using clockwork it says firmware is too new.
How can I get the phone to behave normally again

Get a copy of the original AT&T 2.1 RUU and run that. That should set your phone back to stock condition. Then you can run Unrevoked again and just let it install ClockworkMod; don't try to load a custom recovery if you don't know what you are doing.
Here's the RUU that tpbklake is referring to. You might need to uninstall the HBOOT driver for this to work. http://www.megaupload.com/?d=9D9NGT6J
After the RUU is done, you can run Unrevoked again (after re-installing the HBOOT driver). You do not need to change any settings, it will install the correct thing by default. Just leave the settings alone.

Hey guys. A while back my phone got screwed up I had to flash the ruu to get it going again. Originally I was on hboot 1.4 rooted/s off via revoked. After I updated with the ruu for the newer radio it now has hboot 1.5 but still says s off. I wasn't able to flash a Rom via clockwork or twrp. So I have a stock Rom without root and I can't figure out where to go from here.
Any ideas?

don't know for sure but IMO you will have to unlock via HTC dev.com, then you will be able to flash anything like you did before . And to root your ROM, just flash a zip file containing superuser apk and binary after doing the above steps.
Also you can revert back to hboot 1.4 ( don't know how exactly ) but don't follow the downgrade thread by unknownforce as you are already s-off
S-Off supercedes being locked. You should still be able to flash roms and have superuser. I was on unlocked on 1.4 with s-off and went to 1.5 showing locked but with s-off and everything still flashes and superuser works fine.
s-off should allow you to do as you please with your phone.. you should still be able to flash w/e recovery you want and w/e rom you want w/o fastboot into recovery..
having s-on in 1.5 is a pain.. but if you already have s-off.. you can just as easily flash back down to 1.4 or even to 1.04 the eng hboot..
but once you're s-off, which you already are, you can do as you please with your device.. you don't need htc dev for it..
EDIT: you might just have to reflash your recovery.. use fastboot flash recovery recovery.img and then boot into it... recovery.img has to be in the same folder as your adb and fastboot files..
Hi! I have a phone with an unlocked bootloader, S-ON, that I am trying to get back to 100% stock. I have the 3.15.651.16 RUU, but for some reason, it will not detect my phone, without or without HTC Sync installed.
I simply flashed a stock unrooted ROM and its kernel via my custom recovery, but now I am unable to receive OTAs due to my custom recovery. I see two solutions here:
1) Use another RUU to wipe everything. I would prefer to do this, but since HTCRUU was taken down, I cannot find anywhere that has an RUU for this phone.
2) Flash the stock recovery.img via fastboot. This is fine, but I also am unable to locate this file anywhere.
Could anybody point me in the right direction?
Just extract the stock recovery.img from here *edit: stock recovery.img was not included. Just search over in Capt Throwbacks firmware thread in Android development.
As for the ruu I know there is a 3.15 floating around here somewhere...
Edit2 (cause I'm bored): here is the 3.15 ruu http://unlimited.io/downloads/dirtyracun/jewel/209/RUU.zip

You can get the RUU from here

Provided by jmz_taylor software, not the 3.16, or you can use VipeRuu in the android development thread

HBOOT- 2.09.0000
RADIO- 1.12.11.1210
OpenDSP- v31.1.0.45.0815

I have TWRP v2.5.0.0
I had SuperSU installed
I do not have my Backup - I deleted it on accident. I also do not have a OS on my phone.
My goal was to learn more, but I am at a speed bump. when I realized I may have screwed up, there was no back up to fall to. I would like to know where I could get something to bite on. I have looked and looked, but am feeling a little over whelmed. Sorry if this post may be inaproppriate, but I am grasping at straws. Thanks in advance. please post or pm me.

Get into Twrp
Press mount
Press usb storage
load a rom( I suggest MeanBean as it has a kernel installer for s-on folks) from your PC to your phone
once loaded unmount usb storage
go back to the main screen and press advanced wipe, make sure delvik cache/cache/data/system are checked
swipe to wipe
press install navigate to the rom you just loaded(read the OP for s-on install instructions)
once done flashing it should ask you to reboot
once it settles for a bit go back to twrp and MAKE A NANDROID BACKUP
enjoy
Thanks

So the problem here is that my Evo 3D GSM bootloops no matter what i flash. I can get in to HBOOT and Fastboot but can't get in to recovery, or boot a rom. I tried flashing various versions of cwm and 4EXT and none seem to work. I boot to HBOOT select recovery but it just goes back to bootlooping. Tried flashing various roms (had Viper3D for like a month and then one night it started bootlooping), even tried flashing a RUU multiple times but the bootloop goes on. And since that didn't help i unlocked again and downgraded HBOOT. For a period of time the phone didn't boot but that was because the battery is drained and can't charge when off, so I'm using a Desire X battery.

I don't know what ruu you need, but you need to make sure its right.
Then without hooking your phone up, run ruu on windows.
Let it load up, the go to run and type %temp%
In the window that pops up, look for the newest folder, that will contain a file named rom.zip drag it to your desktop.
Rename it pg86img.zip
Now, you need to get that file to the root of your sd card, use a card reader, another phone, something.
Make sure it is the only pg86img.zip on your card.
Once you have the pg86img.zip on your sd, put it back in your EVO, and boot to bootloader. Accept the update and it should do the rest.
Do no relock before you do this. It is not necessary.
When you finally get booted remove that file or rename it.
Hope that gets you going

Sorry for taking so long to reply, didn't have the time until now. I tried your method and it still didn't work
Though this I might try but I'm not too cozy with having to brick my device and i have no Linux experience. Not much else I can try...
Also is there a way to get back S-ON, because a while ago I sent the phone to repairs but they rejected my warranty because of s-off and revolutionary. Is my warranty still valid even if I revert back?
are you sure recovery is flashed ok? drivers may be the issue. try reinstalling drivers and running RUU or flashing recovery
I am sort of a noob when it comes to this stuff and I am having trouble returning the phone to stock.
My bootloader current looks like this:
*TAMPERED*
*RELOCKED*
JEWEL PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT-2.09.0000
RADIO-1.12.11.1210
OpenDSP-v31.1.0.45.0815
eMMC-boot
I am able to unlock and relock the bootloader with no problem, and I can get into TWRP, but I cannot flash a rom that 1. finishes flashing or 2. boots at all. There is not currently a rom on the phone because I wiped it.
I don't know what I need to do at this point to get back to stock. I think I may need a 3.15 or 3.16 RUU.exe to make it work but I can't find a link to one. I downloaded an older RUU.exe and it started the process but it threw an error code and said I had to download a different version.
What do I do from here? I can't seem to get the phone to s-off either because I don't understand what to do.

I have downloaded that but I am having trouble getting s-off... can I obtain s-off from the bootloader? I have a Windows 7 64x computer
I used moonshine
Sent from my EVO using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
You will need to unlock your bootloader before you do anything else. Until you can get your phone to boot you won't be able to use Moonshine. You need to get your phone working first. Follow the steps in the guide in the link below:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2443108
I suggest downloading MeanBean ROM. It has a kernel installer built in to it to facilitate flashing while S-on. From recovery, flash the ROM zip once and reboot to system. The phone should boot to the HTC splash screen, then back to recovery. Flash the ROM zip again and reboot & you should be good to go. Once you're up and running you can proceed to Moonshine:thumbup:
Your issue is the fact that you are currently S-on. On the newer Hboot's (1.15+) the kernel must be flashed separately from the ROM, otherwise your phone won't boot. Once you gain S-off this won't be an issue. For more info click the link in my sig.
Hi, I recently tried to downgrade my hboot on my Droid DNA from version 1.57 to 1.54 because I was going to unroot it. Long story short I decided not to. Anyway, I accidentally went down to hboot 1.33. Because of this fastboot won't recognize my phone and I can't find any drivers that will work which means I can't upgrade my hboot back up to 1.57. Is there anyway you can change your hboot version without using a computer? I have tried renaming the zip to PC86IMG.zip and booting into the bootloader but it doesn't check for the file so it won't change the hboot version. Any suggestions?
Anybody?
