[Q] Using Galaxy S II as a touchscreen for Windows 7 - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

hey guys,
is it possible to use the Galaxy S II as a touchscreen for my windows machine?
Example: I have my one tft (24") and i want another screen (galaxy s II), where i can put for example Photoshop tools. So I can select the tools via pressing on the galaxy S II' screen.
Hope this isn't the wrong section.
If anyone knows another option, let me know!

Try idisplay.
Do say thanks if it helps

Adobe recently released an app for the iPad called Adobe Nav that does exactly that. Don't think there is an Android version yet and I also doubt they're going to release it for phones.

Okay, thanks dexteral, it worked, but this "wifi-only" sucks.
it'd be better if i could connect it via USB.

Just buy yourself a proper wacom tablet. You can obviously afford it. Since your using a graphics soloution that costs the earth.

(Q) how can I get Photoshop touch to work

How can I get Photoshop touch to work on my note?

Convince Samsung to release ICS. It requires android 3.1 or higher.
Thx, I was wondering why I couldn't get it to work.

Why "wondering"? It clearly states "Requires Android: 3.1 and up". Always look in the About This App in the right hand column of the Live Market\Android Market\whatever it's called store.

I installed the official ICS release for the Galaxy Note today (the Samsung OTA thing), and Photoshop still isn't available for my device. Now what?

You're in the wrong forum - this is the AT&T Galaxy Note forum. But in any case, you can either edit your build.prop to a different device or the DPI settings to spoof the Play Store into thinking that your phone is the tablet, or purchase the app with a tablet, and sideload it.
I got it working on note I got the application but don't want to get in trouble google it it does work

I have it working just fine. I just installed it normally and it boots up and runs great. Works awesome with the spen. I used it with DaGr8's rom and now with appdroid's rom and all is running well. Great app to have.

I'm running it on DAGr8's Hybrid RC4 in tablet mode at 213dpi. I haven't run into any issues yet.
Did I find it on the market? No.
Will I buy it once it's available? Yes.
I currently have an Galaxy note I717 on Bell in Canada.
Its on Gingerbread.
What steps do I have to take to make Photshop touch work on the note.
Also after bell releases the update to ICS will I be able to download and use photshop touch since I am on 4.0.
Anyone with a note on legit ICS that can get Photoshop Touch.
I have been running it on my note since day one. Since the app won't let us pay for it, I submitted a request to them to have this fixed because it did work on the GB build I was running before. I just searched for the APK and installed it, simple. Mind you, I would like to pay for it, but they have yet to fix the issue.

Porting Windows Phone 8?

As you all might know Windows Phone 8 will support dual-cores and micro-sd cards, so my question would be, if it could be ported to our device.
Keep in mind I'm not a developer
Do you want the long answer or the short answer?

Windows Phone 7 hasn't been ported to the SII for a reason, and the same applies to this.

I think that Windows Phone 7 can not be ported to this device because it does not have dual-core and micro-SD card support
Nobody is going to port either to the SGS2. Devs who are still developing for it have much better things to do with their (almost always) limited time.
I dont think you should expect a port unless Microsoft releases the source code, which it wont.

Do NOT try that, AT ALL! It's for the Verizon Galaxy S3 (d2vzw) and not our international S3's (i9300), you will brick your S3 if you even try that.

Tizen port for i9300

Hey guys.
Is there any development on tizen port for i9300?
I've read through the tizen thread and people there are saying we should ask on the device thread.
Could this be done? I sure as heck would like to try this as much as the Ubuntu port.

I've not seen anyone try to port it. Not sure why they would either? Its a basic operating system for budget phones. Cant see anyone wanting to massively limit their phone's capability - even out of curiosity

Nah tizen is actually looking to be quite robust. I wouldn't say it limits the phone's capability. Rather it opens doors for more features. It can already run Android apps man...

Are there any news on this? Id love to try Tizen on my S3. Ubuntu porting project was discontinues unfortunately :/
bump... what about tizen-2.2 on SGS3 (i9300)?
