Captivate Status Bar for Atrix - Atrix 4G Themes and Apps

If this post isn't in the right section, feel free to move it around.
Coming from the Captivate, there is one main thing that I miss. The status bar buttons. I know there are apps for this, but none act exactly how the Captivate did.
I've used a few apps, but they just aren't perfect. Is there a way to have these Captivate buttons from the status bar ported to the Atrix, or an app that does EXACTLY that?

More of a TouchWiz notification tray then just a Captivate one. Just the buttons on top.

I actually miss those from Cyanogen. There they were called Notification Power Widget. I have not found anything that can do it yet..

i would love to see that status bar on the atrix, its one of the few things that i miss from my captivate.

If you have power control plus, you can put a toggle bar in the notification tray!

I took a look at it and although it does put it in the notification bar its not a one click type deal. You hit it then it opens a new window for you to toggle in.

Yeah I dunno its mediocre.. I used notification toggle... It takes on slot per toggle so its not cm7 but it is one click. Just saying

Yea I read somewhere stock android doesn't allow it unless you make your own rom like cm7. I've also tried every program from widgetsoid to notification widget . Still can't mimic it exactly.

I have found this app work for what you are wanting to do. it wont pull down like a notification but you can make it better than that.
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.jim2
I have a whole separate page on my atrix with memory/battery/space information and then all of my widget switches

Another solution is using the app "mysettings" - It doesn't have
control from notification but you can assign long click on search button to open it then you can control all the features you had with your captivate from anywhere - even when I owned a cappy I used this app instead notification menu since that was faster.

quick settings
I had used my.settings for a while and found quick settings to be a bit better

A Thought - For the upcoming roms [Time Clock]

Like many of you guys, I really appreciate the benefits of a nice big clock widget. And I find the time on the application bar to be very redundant. I would like to see an option for that to be disabled in any of the newer upcoming roms. It will save precious space

Personally I like having the time there. That way when I'm doing something like browsing the web I can still see what time it is. Comes in handy when I'm on my lunch break.

yeah, there will definitely be instances when you'd want the time there. i think an option to display it on and off would be very handy

It would be great if the time display in the menu bar could be dynamic. When in an app have it display, when on the home screen, have it hidden.
What power widget is that? Definitely more useful than the android one.
I got the gauge battery and the switch pro widget. Highly recommend it. There are many different configurations.

it's fairly straight forward to remove yourself if you like. If you check this thread; http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=780614 There's a walkthrough. But be aware on the SGS the line item numbers for the clock and alarm are different than what he shows in that thread.

[APP]4G Widget Toggle for 3rd Party Launcher

Not sure if you are using sense or not, but I am using LauncherPro Plus and find that going into Menu->Settings->Wireless->4G, etc is annoying.
I found "4G Toggle for EVO" in the market. It says its only for EVO, but since they are both made by HTC, I figured I'd give it a shot, and it works.
Hope this helps some others.

+1, I like having the power bar in the notifications pull down. Also like the switch to disable lock screen.

I also found Widgetsoid afterwards, which has everything! It's great.
cant wait to try this out!!!
One other option, for those using adw, is as follows. Long press the home screen until a menu appears. Choose custom shortcuts, then activities. When this loads, go to settings, then scroll down to 4g settings. This will create a shortcut to the 4G settings, and will not add the chance of further battery drain.
Beautiful Widgets includes one that works as well.

I've also purchased beautiful widgets and used it before for toggles, ultimately widgetsoid does everything better, for me.

Just wanted to throw Elixir in the mix. It has a 4G toggle that works prettty well plus a lot of other things. Kind of similar to Widgetsoid but with color. Pretty good app though

[Q] Notification drawer/pull-down/tray replacement

Hi,
I am running PhireMod v6.2 and I have to say that this implementation absolutely beautiful except for one very particular annoying thing that it shares with the rest of the stock android UI - the notification pulldown.
I'm not really sure how this area is called. People have called it "pull-down", "tray", "drawer" and so on.
I'm not talking about the "status bar" or "notification bar", by the way.
I'm talking about the thing that appears when you swipe down (or sometimes swipe up depending on where your notification area is) which contains expanded details of the things you are currently or have finished downloading, expanded text for notifications.
Anyway, it's as fugly as hell and it covers THE WHOLE FREAKING screen when it's pulled down.
Can someone point me to a theme/app/method that would modify this into something a little bit more manageable and less obtrusive? I was thinking of something that would appear similar to Smart Bar (where all notification and notification text would appear in a small bubble on the status bar instead of taking up the length and width of the whole screen).
I've added the picture below for more clarity. I want to get rid of the part inside the red rectangle and replace it with something that makes more sense for a tablet.

Bump. I really want this too.
P.S. I think cm7 is more popular, and phiremod is cm7, so just mention cm7
@ikingblack: hooray for those of us who dare run nook at 1.3Ghz (re: your signature)
I wasn't sure about CM7. I've never tried CM7 and have no idea how the pulldown looks on CM7. Does it look the same?
I'm using Phiremod 6.2 because I'm using rack's solution for a dual boot of Ph6.2+HC both on an SD card
Wait... you're confusing me.
You said you're not talking about the notification bar. But what you're describing is clearly the notification bar.

I think the notification bar and pull down shade are 2 separate things, its just on phones to access the pull down shade you swipe from the notification bar. Take the stock nook for example. There is definitely a notification bar however no shade underneath to swipe up.
Or take honeycomb for example it also has a notification bar and no shade to swipe up.
So essentially the notification bar is just the starting point for the pull down shade if the device has one.
Just to clarify what I meant, the green area is the notification bar or status bar. The area in red is the one that I want to get rid off. It's clunky, inelegant and utterly fugly on a 7-inch.
Apply a theme from theme Chooser. That will make it transparent so you can see what's doing behind pull down. It doesn't get rid of it but looks better then the flat grey/black wall. I like sculpted or one of the color ones. Go to market and search cyanogenmod.... its the T-Mobile theme Chooser apps. Hope that helped ya.

I applied the honeybread theme from one of the threads here, looks terrific and makes the "notification drawer" transparent. Much better.

[Q] Drop Down Toggles

Does anyone know if it will be possible to have toggles for wifi/bt/gps/silent/data in the notification drop down like other phones have?
You can download Widgetsoid and when you make a Widget it will give you the option of adding it to the notification bar.
When it's there, though, and you click on something it will open a new little popup window to press the buttons..kinda weird, dunno why it does that.
You need this ------>

This prevents notification bar widgets from directly controlling phone functions then? So it's safe to assume Extended Controls would do the same?

i don't think that does what the OP wants, which is toggles within the notification bar (ala Samsung phones).
as far as i've seen, we can only have the clickable pop-up widget version that was described above.
This has come up before..
This is good as your gonna get Notification Toggle
I use BATTERY GAUGE. it has a drop down menu when activated and shoes me battery percent. A must have app IMO

Yeah I guess I was spoiled with my samsung (before this thread I was not aware this was a samsung only feature). I really miss this feature... wish it came standard on all androids. The closest one to what I want is notification toggle, but it's still more clicks to what I want.
widgetsoid is closet that I can get,I too hate how we have to do at least two clicks instead of one like on CM7. But at least it's close and looks clean

Yea it kinda sucks. You still have to use the widget, so the drop down notification is useless. In my opinion. I had a infuse 4g for 1 day and that was the only feature I liked on the phone..

the dropdown controls for the captivate are awesome, I haven't seen an app in the market yet that could replace these. If anyone could make this it would be awesome!

Little annoyances in LG UI

Don't get me wrong. I love this phone and the UI and it's customising options. Still there are few things here and there that I miss from stock.
Let's list them.
I'll start with my 2,
1) Two swipe gesture on notification panel does not do any thing.
As you know , in Vanilla Android , if you swipe the notification panel with two fingers, you'll get all the toggles in one place.
Even Samsung has implemented this gesture even though they have the Quick Toggles like LG UI.
So it's kin of disappointing to not have it in LG UI.
2) No way to see all the Wakelocks and Display on , in the Battery chart,
