Hi,
I am running PhireMod v6.2 and I have to say that this implementation absolutely beautiful except for one very particular annoying thing that it shares with the rest of the stock android UI - the notification pulldown.
I'm not really sure how this area is called. People have called it "pull-down", "tray", "drawer" and so on.
I'm not talking about the "status bar" or "notification bar", by the way.
I'm talking about the thing that appears when you swipe down (or sometimes swipe up depending on where your notification area is) which contains expanded details of the things you are currently or have finished downloading, expanded text for notifications.
Anyway, it's as fugly as hell and it covers THE WHOLE FREAKING screen when it's pulled down.
Can someone point me to a theme/app/method that would modify this into something a little bit more manageable and less obtrusive? I was thinking of something that would appear similar to Smart Bar (where all notification and notification text would appear in a small bubble on the status bar instead of taking up the length and width of the whole screen).
I've added the picture below for more clarity. I want to get rid of the part inside the red rectangle and replace it with something that makes more sense for a tablet.

Bump. I really want this too.
P.S. I think cm7 is more popular, and phiremod is cm7, so just mention cm7
@ikingblack: hooray for those of us who dare run nook at 1.3Ghz (re: your signature)
I wasn't sure about CM7. I've never tried CM7 and have no idea how the pulldown looks on CM7. Does it look the same?
I'm using Phiremod 6.2 because I'm using rack's solution for a dual boot of Ph6.2+HC both on an SD card
Wait... you're confusing me.
You said you're not talking about the notification bar. But what you're describing is clearly the notification bar.

I think the notification bar and pull down shade are 2 separate things, its just on phones to access the pull down shade you swipe from the notification bar. Take the stock nook for example. There is definitely a notification bar however no shade underneath to swipe up.
Or take honeycomb for example it also has a notification bar and no shade to swipe up.
So essentially the notification bar is just the starting point for the pull down shade if the device has one.
Just to clarify what I meant, the green area is the notification bar or status bar. The area in red is the one that I want to get rid off. It's clunky, inelegant and utterly fugly on a 7-inch.
Apply a theme from theme Chooser. That will make it transparent so you can see what's doing behind pull down. It doesn't get rid of it but looks better then the flat grey/black wall. I like sculpted or one of the color ones. Go to market and search cyanogenmod.... its the T-Mobile theme Chooser apps. Hope that helped ya.

I applied the honeybread theme from one of the threads here, looks terrific and makes the "notification drawer" transparent. Much better.

Coming from the Captivate, there is one main thing that I miss. The status bar buttons. I know there are apps for this, but none act exactly how the Captivate did.
I've used a few apps, but they just aren't perfect. Is there a way to have these Captivate buttons from the status bar ported to the Atrix, or an app that does EXACTLY that?

More of a TouchWiz notification tray then just a Captivate one. Just the buttons on top.

I actually miss those from Cyanogen. There they were called Notification Power Widget. I have not found anything that can do it yet..
i would love to see that status bar on the atrix, its one of the few things that i miss from my captivate.
If you have power control plus, you can put a toggle bar in the notification tray!

I took a look at it and although it does put it in the notification bar its not a one click type deal. You hit it then it opens a new window for you to toggle in.

Yeah I dunno its mediocre.. I used notification toggle... It takes on slot per toggle so its not cm7 but it is one click. Just saying

Yea I read somewhere stock android doesn't allow it unless you make your own rom like cm7. I've also tried every program from widgetsoid to notification widget . Still can't mimic it exactly.

I have found this app work for what you are wanting to do. it wont pull down like a notification but you can make it better than that.
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.jim2
I have a whole separate page on my atrix with memory/battery/space information and then all of my widget switches
Another solution is using the app "mysettings" - It doesn't have
control from notification but you can assign long click on search button to open it then you can control all the features you had with your captivate from anywhere - even when I owned a cappy I used this app instead notification menu since that was faster.
quick settings
I had used my.settings for a while and found quick settings to be a bit better

Thank you! Being a themer/developer you like to hear what people are thinking for future improvements. With that being said I think that Aroma Installer zips are he way to go! My guess is that in the next 6-12 months most new mod on new phones will be using Aroma to install their mods/themes/roms.
This mod is small enough to download in a minute or two and with the ability to quit the install before anything is changed and after you have had a chance to check out the future of Android installers, well worth a look at least? I know cheesy that sounds, but seriously check it out. Flashing can be fun during the install now.
ill try it out
Hi, so as the title says... Just want to ask if there will be a transparent status bar feature?
It would be really nice to see it there, even in beta testing...

Good Changes! :good:
Saw that it arrived yesterday with an update, however the levels of transparency seem to be a bit broken.
If you select full transparency it doesn't seem to work, and just defaults to full black. (At least on the MotoX, anyway)
Additionally, if you select 'always show notification bar', the transparency option disappears entirely. (is this because it becomes adjustable within the widget setting instead?)
And finally, the transparency seems to have a forced gradient effect at all times, will there be a way to change this?

Hi,
Our team are still working on full transparency settings, as we want to make sure that the features will work 100%. So yes, we understand your frustration, but hopefully within the next update we'll include full transparency and gradient toggle support
I know there's a way but I don't know exactly "where" since I don't even know how to create a theme so maybe a theme maker knows?
This one have transparent default

}
This one doesn't have statusbar on default
But you can pull it down which is exactly the look I'm after (until you do anything at all and it dissapears again)
So I've tried everything in settings
Which only makes it black
But there's obviously a way to make it persistent and transparent through the theme itself - how?
EDIT: Aha just unlock the widgets and longpress the statusbar and voilá - seems to be persitent (although I have a bunch of xposed modules that alters the statusbar)
Good!

Hey guys,
I'm currently using the CM 13 ROM, which is based on Android MM as you probably know.

I really would like to change the Notification Panel so it looks like this:
Just as a side info: I achieved the look of the panel shown in the second picture with the app "material status bar notific", but i really dislike this app and it doesn't work to well.
So is there any way to make my Notification Panel as shown in the first screenshot to look like the Notification Panel in the second screenshot?
I would appreciate your help, thanks alot.

Installing Android 7 (CM14) would give you a similar look (except for the color).
Or you can get the same thing I said above, on android 6, with Xposed and the N-ify module (except for the color).
On android 6 you might be able to use a theme to get the desired colors, though I don't know if themes play well with N-ify.

That isn't possible. Only Samsung ROMs have that as far as I know.
Maybe Google will implement something similar in a future android version. But for now, you have to settle for this.
NOTE: The App is tested on Samsung Galaxy S9 so far, for the looks. If you have a Galaxy S10/e/+, please post some pictures as a feedback. Thanks!
Greetings! I made this special Curved Edition of Energy Bar for Galaxy S8/S9/+. Look forward to hear community feedback on this.

Many of you who have a Windows Mobile past like me, might have instantly recognized the thin colorful line(s) in the above image. And for the new Android generation, introducing Energy Bar - a pulsating Battery indicator!
Energy Bar puts a thin line on top of your Status Bar whose length corresponds to your device's current Battery level.
Got a full charge? The line will cover the whole width of your screen.
Battery depleting? So will the length of Energy Bar.
After several iterations (thank you for the feedback, early testers), the App is now feature packed:
Energy Bar can be configured from a width of 1 pixel to cover the entire status bar
Energy Bar puts almost 0% load on CPU, as it wakes up only to reflect any change in battery level
Energy Bar's origin can be configured as left/center/right
Energy Bar can hide on fullscreen content (apps, videos, images, games etc)
Energy Bar can be configured to change colors automatically depending on the live battery level
Energy Bar could have a mono color/multiple color segments/gradient
You can literally assign any color in the world for your favorite configuration
Energy Bar as a cool pulsating animation whenever a power source is plugged into your device
There is something about visual over numbers that keeps you and your device's battery level in sync with just a glance. You may find it intuitive/effective/stylish way to read the battery level, let me know what you think

Charging animation demo (style - bounce), thanks @sl33pyK!
*reserved*
Hey this is cool, I was considering making a similar app around the camera cutout... might be something you consider adding to this project! "Energy ring"..
Doesn't really translate onto the screenshot well tho:
Looks good. I did notice that the charging animation restarts when opening/closing the Energy Bar app. Did not appear to restart animations in other apps though.
It adds a corner to the top left of the screen that is visible in screenshots but doesn't appear anywhere else.
Screenshot attached for others to see.

Hi, Good Afternoon, I would like to install your App, but why is it asking for so much permissions. It says it wants to read my messages & other personal items. If this is an App to show how much power I have left, why does it need all those permissions?
