How to change the style of the notification panel? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys,
I'm currently using the CM 13 ROM, which is based on Android MM as you probably know.
The Notication Panel looks like this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
I really would like to change the Notification Panel so it looks like this:
Just as a side info: I achieved the look of the panel shown in the second picture with the app "material status bar notific", but i really dislike this app and it doesn't work to well.
So is there any way to make my Notification Panel as shown in the first screenshot to look like the Notification Panel in the second screenshot?
I would appreciate your help, thanks alot.

Installing Android 7 (CM14) would give you a similar look (except for the color).
Or you can get the same thing I said above, on android 6, with Xposed and the N-ify module (except for the color).
On android 6 you might be able to use a theme to get the desired colors, though I don't know if themes play well with N-ify.

That isn't possible. Only Samsung ROMs have that as far as I know.
Maybe Google will implement something similar in a future android version. But for now, you have to settle for this.

Hello Developers,
as I'm a huge Fan of all your work I'd first of all thank you for enriching my digital life so much with your hard work.
Now to the subject: I can't understand that HTC resigned in Sense 4+ from the feature of the Quick Settings

A college of mine has the One X and another one has the One S and they are all the time making fun of me for missing that feature.
Do you think it will be possible in the near future to add this feature or import it from an One x rom or make a Sense 4 rom (without +).
Thank you in advance for your replies.

how about just adding quick settings to the notification pulldown? i didn't take a too sharp look at the roms availlable, so i don't know if any other but cyanogenmod does have this feature yet. but you could on any rom always install the app widgetsoid and add the quick settings panel yourself.
here's a link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jim2
it's free, customizable and easy to set up. just take a look at the screenshots and you know what i mean
btw: i guess that they dumped these settings because they will (hopefully soon) give us android 4.2 for our one x+ which will already feature a quick settings tab in the notification pulldown. i think it wouldn't make any sense ( pun-alert) to build in a feature which will surely be dumped on the next major os upgrade which is sure to be delivered in near future.

Hey,
i have tried several of these notification apps, but it' snot the same... Long press doesn't bring you directly to the settings, no direct brigness adjustment... etc.
I\m just a little dissapointed as i had been faithfull to HTC now with the third android (Desire - Sensation - One X+) and i never experienced a fall back in the development Quick settings had been already developed by Leedroid at Froyo times and even Miui is famous for this feature. Gues i just bought a too new phone that doesn't yet have real modified rom's available.
Additional: in the wigdet add that you recommend the flashlight doesn't work

Yea I just checked it and noticed that CM11 themes that hide the handle have that issue as well. I'll have to look into that.
Works pretty sweet on my Galaxy S2 running SlimSaberKat... :good:
Could you make an option to remove the whole handle, not just hide it?
So there is more space for notifications?

Yep! That's actually what I'm working on, but I've been quite busy recently. Also, I'm still somewhat new to xposed development so I just need to figure out how to implement it lol.

Is there any Xposed module to shorten the pull down panel just to show the notifications. I mean it's just ridiculous expanding all the way down to the bottom covering the whole screen with black for 1 notification.
can you make an option to hide carrier label too?
How about lollipop?
I understand it's been a long time since this thread but something similar... There isn't a notification handle in lollipop yeah, but there's this "No notifications" text that appears when you've got,...well, no notifications. I was wondering if you could look into that, do something similar? I really want a clean UI and "No notifications" kinda makes my OCD twtich. XD

Hey! I would like to ask you about feature hide notch on Xiaomi Mi 8 (MIUI 10, Android Pie)
I think the custom MIUI option of hiding notch looks completely bad when the clock
and indicators are below and there are still no notification icons from the apps....
Is it possible to hide Notch in Xiaomi Mi8 and leaving the clock (left) and the battery indicator
with the network indicator (right), then put the "normal" statusbar below - like in the graphics I have prepared?
Maybe the devs can do such an add-on/Magisk module for MIUI 10?

Very good idea. Interesting or possible to fulfill..
It use to be like that. I know in MIUI 10 with Oreo there was an option to do it, but they removed it for some reason.
You can use Nacho notch from play store.

Yes it can only so:
@mephisto85 I think you didn't understand what I meant bro
Nacho notch doesn't add a statusbar with notifications below...
Where I get the version MGC_6.1.021_MI8_V2b +++ (plus3)
Maybe it will be implemented in the future update.

@PedroCaseiro thanks for the activity. I think that only MIUI devs can make changes like that....
Nacho Notch is an add-on for all Android user, not only MIUI users
What you want is to replicate Android notification bar below the original one with custom icons and stuff, right? It should be doable using a simple app. Nacho noch is pretty basic app that just colours your notification bar to black. If there is no alternative available, I may consider doing it. I have developed apps earlier that draws over top and uses notifications to display so I know it can be done.
@Gurjot95 nacho notch can't do this like on graphics
Exactly, I meant that app is basic and only colours it black. Hence, I may consider developing it myself.

g-visual mod for full screen under 11

Anyone got this magisk module working (or any other full-screen mod) under 11 on the 4a? Would love to use the notch area when using various reading apps (including Chrome)!
bump? I'm looking for this as well, g-visual made me bootloop.

Yeah, still looking lol. Let me know if you find anything
It seems to be working now but I'm still not able to get full screen reading in Chrome and other apps due to lack of a proper immersive mode. This app seems to work but a bit kludgy:
Fullscreen Immersive - No Ads, No Root - Apps on Google Play
Fullscreen immersive mode in applications or games

I had a look into this today, and it appears that the area across where the hole punch for the camera lies, which also acts as the status bar, can only be used if the app itself is modified for this. I *think* i saw one app that extended into this area.
Using the following coode, one can set immersice mode for specific apps. I tested on A11 with no nav, and all it did was change the colour of the status bar. But it was still there. I also tried an app that has the option to hide the status bar, and I think it hid the clock etc, but the area reserved for the status bar was still unused.
The commands I played with were:
Code:
settings put global policy_control immersive.full=diamondjohndroid.utility.temefi;
settings get global policy_control;
#start the app, but only status bar colour changes
# undo the change
settings delete global policy_control;
Naked browser uses status bar without immersive installed

Question Navigation bar

Does anyone know how to hide the navigation bar using gestures?
It is a wasted space and in some applications the background colors do not match (it is not transparent).

On March 31, Asus released an update that allows you to hide the navigation bar. There's a new learning curve when navigating with gestures without the navigation bar, and after a month like that, I don't miss the navigation bar.
I am very happy.
