i dont think that backs up everything though.
i want it to back up to a PC or something aswell, as the SD card is what i want to format
As far as i know MyBackUp Pro creates .zip files on the sd card.
So after the backup we could transfer this .zip files to the PC and "format" the phone?

Doas Titanium also backup my contacts?
Yes. You could backup everything to sd card, copy backup folder to pc and wipe everything. Then reflash rom, copy the backup folder back to sd card and reinstall titanium. Titanium is the most complete backup you'll get on your x10 till bootloader is cracked. Another method would be the custom recovery, but i didn't try it out.

Can't you just use root explorer to copy every single system file to your SD, then copy the backup from SD to your PC....???? I would imagine it would be as easy as copying all the files/folders in your system root folder.
MyBackup sucks dogs bollocks - it's no better than the one included...
I backed up using the included one and Titanium, and did a restore from both - seemed to get everything back on as required...
For Apps backup.. you can use File Expert. It backed up all apks installed to sd card...
Contacts u can sync with Sony Ericcson. For messages i dont have an idea...

Okay and how do you go about creating a new backup? just do it right over it?
because i heard that it takes up a lot ofspace
Shouldn't the real question be: why is this in the development section?...

think it creates another folder for the new backup... .What I do is, do the backup and move it to my external sdcard or copy it to dropbox or pc until need. The backup should be around 1.5GB...
nevermind..i got it
Does anyone know where the backups are saved to? I did a quick search but couldn't find it
Clockworkmod in the internal sdcard
Mine are saved in Clockworkmod folder on my external micro sd card
Moved to proper forum.
can anybody tell me how to enable sideloading so i can install CWM
i'm rooted with the OTA update
When I flash a rom all my programs on my sd are still there but in the new rom you cant see them, only maybe with a file explorer.
My question is : is there an app that can restore those programs on sd card so you can select them in normal menu?
Titanium Backup
oke thx, need to learn to work with that app , had downloaded it before.
If i understand well you need to backup before flashing and then you can restore afterwards?

Use a custom rom. Mik_os CM 7 is a great deal.

i tried data to sd by ungaze and ap2sd of darktremor but nothing seems to work with stock 2.3.3. So only way is to use a custom rom.
hey use mik's cm7 ROM... it's much better than the stock one and use dt a2sd script.. it would be best option for you....
It depends which partition is full - if it's the /system partition - you should get rid of some system apps, ringtones in /media/audio and similar stuff and if it's the /data partition - use the Cache2sd mod or try an a2sd script (The standart Android a2sd method works good, you won't need to repartition SD card, simply try to move apps from Titanium Backup (This option is sometimes unavaliable in Settings > Applications > Application Management).
But still, I reccomend CM7.
Create an ext partition ..get link2sd from market ...

Yes, try and use Link2sd
I use Titanium Backup for Backing up my Apps. I wanted to ask that if I back up the Apps which r linked to Sd card using Link2SD app would go back to SD card or would they be backed up to internal memory then?

Titanium works in its own way. It was not influenced by other application. It only back up the apps and user data. If you wanna link it to Link2sd then you should link it by yourself after you restore the apps. Cheers.

Titanium Rocks!
Link2SD can autolink. What I used to do when I restored from Titanium is force titanium to install into internal memory; then Link2SD would move them to the Ext4 partition like magic. Worked perfectly well for me, no need to move anything manually...
I now use S2E and do the same thing. Remember these scripts (A2SD, S2E, Link2SD) all trick Android in thinking /data/app/* is internal but actually they mount that location to the external SD Ext4 partition.
