I not too sure which file i deleted, but now when i connect me phone to my pc and try to copy a file over to the phone, the connection disconnects and reconnects but prevents the file from being copied.
does anyone have any idea which file that could be? and where i could get a copy?

So... Can't you tell us the file? Or look in your history in command prompt?

I have the same problem (I didn't delete anything) and I found it was the problem of the port USB on my laptop. I plug my phone in another port and everything is ok. Try on another PC or another port USB. Hope this helps.
did a data wipe and the usb connection worked again, till i reinstalled all the apps i had before. So i guess the problem wasn't because of something i deleted, but maybe it was caused from one of the apps i installed.
haven't figured out which app yet, but will check it out later on.

Hai!
So I just copied the Android Froyo files directly onto my SD card, and when I try to open them on my HTC HD2 I recieve an error that the file cant be opened and I should try to reinstall it.
Any help ?
Bai!
When you unzip the downloaded zipped file on your PC, you should end up with an android folder. It's that folder that you need in the root of your SD.
It's detailed very clearly how to install and run Android on every single build page that I've read. You should start where you downloaded it from.

I did that, same error.
Anyonez ?
Please
We're not mind readers. What exactly did you do and what was the error?
ALright:
- I copied the folder to my SD Card on the HD2.
- I go to 'Start' -> File explorer -> And then I select the audio file thing and after that the file to start the Android itself.
When I do the last step, I get an error that says:
The file "CLRCAD/HARET" cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of it's componets cannot be found. If the problem persists, try reinstalling or restoring this file.."
Search for sdkcerts and install that on your phone. That should fix your problem.
Sent from my iPhone 5 beta using the XDA App
Does it matter where I extract the file to ?
Do I have to put it on my SD card or on my HD2 program files ?
THANKS!
Tried both locations, getting an error while installing the .cab:
'Installation of SdkCerts.cab has failed.'

Make your own topic please.
So what point I am at:
- I copied the Android folder to my SD Card on the HD2.
- I go to 'Start' -> File explorer -> And then I select the audio file thing and after that the file to start the Android itself.
When I do the last step, I get an error that says:

-------------------
Then this person told me to download a .cab that would fix all the problems, and when I wanted to install it I got the error:
'Installation of SdkCerts.cab has failed.'
--------------------
And now I dont have a CLUE what to do! Lol
I am guessing you are running a stock windows mobile rom? You need to either run a custom rom or find "Advanced Configuration Tool" and install it so you can enable the rom to run all unsigned applications. Then you can run the android apps to boot it.
It is in the misc. section. More info: http://www.touchxperience.com/en/applications/advanced-configuration-tool.html
Uhm, where can I find a custom ROM :$?
I tried that Advanced Config, but when I try to run it on my phone it just gives me the error:
The file "AdvancedConfig" cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of it's componets cannot be found. If the problem persists, try reinstalling or restoring this file.."
**** it, I will just peform a hard reset
Making a back-up of my contacts at this moment.
Peformed a Hard-Reset and the Android and all other files are working FKING GREAT!
Love you guys!
If you get that problem again, you should install an app called "bsb tweaks" (or a similar app) and set it to "allow unsigned"
this should allow you to install things that you couldnt before...........
Glad you got it sorted.
Thanks, John, for helping me out!

A family member has the Galaxy S3 and it is completely stock, non rooted and so on, and i know the phone does not need to be rooted to install apk files.
The problem is that i have copied over the apk file that i want onto his S3 but his phone, no matter what file explorer you use, just will not see the apk files at all, the fines worked fine on my Sensation and DHD and One X, but i just can not get the phone to see the apk files,
any idea's on what is causing the phone to not see the files?
cheers

you sure they are named as .apk file and not .zip? you should be able to see the filename without the .apk in myfiles for example (myapp.apk will appear as myapp), you will also have to check allow install from unknown sources in the security menu in settings..
yes its named .apk
i have not changed anything about the apk files from installing them on my other phones as i said, the DHD and the Sensation are both rooted but my One X is not rooted and that was able to see the apk file and install it, i seriously have no idea on why the S3 is not seeing them at all and that is after searching online for info
also i have enabled the use on non-market applications to be installed, but that is no use if the phone cant see the .apk files to install it in the first place
How you transferred the file to GS3? Is the file visible when connected to PC?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
I connected the S3 to the PC via the USB cable and transferred the apk that way to the SD Card, when the phone is connected to the PC i can see the apk

getting my files to show hidden files did not work.
what it is that i'm trying to install a game, there is a data folder that has to be transferred onto the phone as well, it goes into the Android\obb folder on the sdcard, i created the folder and copied over the files into the folder, the phone.... using my files, astro or es explorer still will not see that folder i created for the files or the apk file itself that has to be installed for these files to be used.
also i tried it on a friends stock, non-rooted Galaxy S2 and it could see the files and it installed first time with no problems so right now i have no idea on what is going on with the Galaxy S3
Sorted, i know what it was, me being a tit....
when you open astro, it starts off in the SDcard folder... the samsung see's the built in memory as the SDcard.. to see the actual SDcard (the removable one lol) i have to select extSCcard..
Am i a tit or what lol
Cheers for the help anyway guys
much appreciated
Hi,
I am trying to transfer files from my PC to my phone but it keeps crashing every time. Sometimes it won't even work.
Does anyone know how to fix this?
same with me!
normal files like mp3's or pics are no problem, but i tried to copy an update.zip with the 15S version (1,6GB) and it crashes halfways every single time... don't know what to do with it cause the shop i bought it from uninstalled all leeco apps incl. the system update app so i have no chance to update the phone! still running on 13S
can someone plz help?
I got the same problem. The only solution I found was to switch ptp (photo) mode and put the file in pictures directory and move it after.
Sent from my Le X821 using XDA-Developers mobile app
also tried the ptp mode but it's not working either. the problem seems to be limited to larger files (est. >600mb) when i rezip the update file to 100mb parts i can copy them one after another without problems, but that won't solve my problem because i cant reassemble them once theyre copied to the phone...
anyone got an idea what causes this problem or can tell me a method how i can update the phone from my pc without copying large files onto it?
---------- Post added at 12:28 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:03 PM ----------
ok think i'm getting clos to a solution, at least for my problem.
i have extracted the copied zip files on my phone via winrar app and tried to rezip them at the root directory but i got the error message "read-only file system" what maybe is the core of the problem.
went a little deeper into file structure and it's ziping the file as "update.zip" right atm.
i will now try to copy the zipped file from the /storage/emulated/0/update directory to root directory.
let's hope it works...
Have you tried the old fashioned cure....delete from device manager and reboot. Make sure you select mtp mode when you reconnect the phone
Hi guys, so I'm asking if you have this issue and if you had and found a solution please give a hand on it
I noticed that I can't send nor receive just apk files via Bluetooth, first I thought I was a ROM issue but I've tried several ROMs with the same outcome, so I'm asking inf you had that same issue and ig f you found a solution
I didn't test on stock ROM
Appreciate your responses

Can't help you then. That's how I always bluetooth apk files across, delete apk extension to bluetooth then rename it with the apk extension once it arrives on the other device...
Never failed...
