Hi guys, I installed bionix nextgen v2 some days ago, I wanted to do a quadrant and it throws me "internal error during benchmark execution" then I press Close and the program remains there static on CPU 10/12 and the only way to close it is to go to task manager and do it..
any help? I tried on my friends vibrant with nextgen and it happens too, I don't know if it is due to bionix or just coincidence, tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app and tried using different than stock kernel, I wanted to try BALI anyways so I did it and don't think I am uninstalling it, it seems to really give better battery life and I always use kb1, it seems to work the best for me..
thanks!
the best thing you could do is just un-install quadrant from your phone. Its just a number. Sure it makes you feel good to say I scored XXXX in quadrent. It doesnt really matter what any kind of tests say. If your happy with your phone then thats all that matters.

Firstly, sorry for posting a noob like annoying thread like this but I wanted to get opinions.
I'm off to Download festival tomorrow! So I'm hoping to install a ROM which has a very good battery life, turn off syncing, mobile network and pretty much everything else and try and get a decent way through the weekend with my phone.
Any suggestions on which ROM I should rely on for this weekend?
I would test some out myself but I am leaving tomorrow morning I don't really have much time.
Any opinions would be greatly appreciated!

gotta agree vanillaeclair is one of the best ive used.. running for 8 hours today and only 2% down.. i know percentages are a bit deceptive im pretty shure it'll last me a few day.. although i dont use data, use wifi all the time
Put Juice Defender on too
Never used Juicedefender before, will it help at all if I just keep Wifi/Data/Sync off all the time anyway?
Just to support VanillaEclair 3.3
I've been running a hell of a lot of different rom's for months now and VanillaEclair has been fantastic for battery life since 3.0
Don't forget to install overclock widget so that you can underclock it when it's sleeping etc.
I also use 'Process Manager' which you can set to auto-kill background apps. Every little helps.
EDIT- oh, and keeping wifi/sync/data off will help a hell of a lot
Right I've gone with VanillaEclair then.
I've turned off syncing/mobile data/everything and I've used SetCPU to change max down to 518mhz.
I've never really been into using Task Killers so I am a bit concerned about using one. I already purchased Advanced Task Manager a while ago so I could use that. What kind of autokill frequency do you use and does it really make a difference? I see Task Killers as another thing running in the background..
After installing Vibrant6 and lag fix, my Quadrant score was 1992. I flashed back to stock using the stock firmware sticked in AD thinking I was going to try Eugene's Froyo. I decided against it and reflashed Vibrant6 and reinstalled the lag fix. Now my Quadrant score is only in the 800's.
Anyone know what would cause this or how to fix it? I made sure to remove the lag fix before I flashed back to stock and I even had Odin repartition when I flashed back to stock.
Lil help?
the "lag fix" didnt take... do you notice a difference? After 2 weeks of use I cant tell the difference without...
Holding 3 diff Vibrants one stock, the others with different "lag fixes", think youd be able to tell which is which? I very seriously highly doubt it.. So seriously I had to use three adjectives..
yeah...its more of a bragging thing than a functionality thing.
I noticed a difference after soft bricking mine. When I download and install something from the market its faster without the lag fix. With the lag fix the phone just stops working or a second and then continues after it finishes installing. Without the lag fix there is no pause, it just keeps going. Moving around on the home screen there seems to be noticeable lag when you drag to different windows without the lagfix. With the lagfix it is non-existent.
Oh and I softbricked the phone by trying to use the lagfix removal from MCR scripts...

I just noticed the market thing last night. If you wait 1/2 second between button presses, its all good. I didn't have to wait at all pre-lag fix.
Very strange....
Ok, this is my problem: I have a Samsung t959 Vibrant Galaxy S with Boinix-V1.3.1 Voodoo, i changed the kernel, i was using Dragon 3.2 without OverClock but it has a lot of bugs (it reboots like 4 times in one day, it breaks for a few minutes and then when it came back it reboots, some times it reboots into the "safe mode" and i can't use all the apps in the phone, etc.). Then I changed to Drgaon 3.2 with OC, the same, but with one more bug, it breaks on screen off. I changed to Dragon 5.2 with OC!!! Beautiful !!! the colors, the sound, everything, but it has the bug of the screen off. I need my cellphone ON, all the day for any call, what kernel can give me all of the Dragon 5.2 without that screen off bug?
Thanks !!
It's down for personnel preference but you got two choices left, either Overstock or Tigersblood. They're both great but very rom Dependant and like I said down to personnel preference and use.
I had the best battery life and overall performance on Overstock though.
Try the non over clocked version of overstock first and see how you like it. If you do you can try out the other versions. I've been running the under volted version for a few weeks and its been great. There's also a overclocked version to play with to.
Trigger 2.9.2
it's personal preference try all them out. I like overstock kernel it works very well for me but my friend had problems do he uses tigers blood........ just depends on the phone when it was built, how you got it set up, like I said personal preference........
My opinion its the newest overstock. Thats been my preference.
Ok, i'm trying the Tiger Blood 3.22, it looks good, but when i use the voltage control it breaks, i have to see what voltages are the correct, i'm using the ones posted on the thread but them doesn't work. After this i'm going to try overstock ! i'll tell you how is it going
Minutes latter after try Tiger Bloods i decide to change the kernel to one Overstock, it is the 2.4.1 and it is the best i have tried today, if i find some bug like the screen off i'll tell you. If someone knows other kernel better than this, pleas recommend it to me

Yea. My experience on TB was it would just shut off. I even tried not changing the voltage but still happened. Have had no probs with overstock 2.2.1, 2.41 just came out & I've been using it since its release. No probs yet.
Hey guys,
I was going to actually post this under the Bali thread in Vibrant Developments but as I'm a noob on this and haven't posted anything, it wouldn't let me.
So explaining my situation, I installed Bali 1.8.8 UV on my samsung mythic two nights ago. It seems to have a lot of good reviews but due to the timespan used, I have not seen any improvements as of yet over the stock kernel that came with Bionix V 1.3.1. Anyways, from time to time, I find the phone freezes up (creating an event on the calendar, texting, scrolling contacts...) just during basic use as I don't play any games or plan on it.
I understand the concept behind the UV as I have looked it up and it makes perfect sense. So getting to my question, is it expected to freeze from time to time? Or if it does, I should just go to the non UV version?
Thank you for your time guys!
Bali has been smooth sailing for me since I started using it around the 1.8.6 phase. My guess is your problem is unrelated to the kernel. Flash any new modems or roms lately?
You haven't seen a difference in battery life? Did you calibrate after flashing it?
With the instability, I'd just start over from stock, flash Bionix, flash Bali, and see if that doesn't help. If you still get the instability, it probably wouldn't hurt to try the non-UV.
To be fair, Bionix 1.3.1 w/ Bali UV was rock solid for me when I used it. Something might have happened in the flash. It happens.
some phones cant run UV as well as others can they ?? just like overclocking, some phones cant go as high as others
so might be just that your phone doesnt like UV

Not really. I have just flashed Bionix V 1.3.1 and tried using the Bali Kernel with that.

No I didn't. Actually afterward, I reflashed Bionix V, fully recharged the battery and calibrated it, and had over 3 days of battery life and on the second recharge, the battery life dropped...
Anyways, yes I did calibrate after flashing the kernel as well as the ROM.
Ok, I have a question with regards to your suggestion of going back to stock. I do have a nandroid backup of that, but is that the procedure I would have to follow? I have only read about odin and have never attempted it if thats what I would have to do, but also I am afraid of losing my data (as titanium backup and mybackup root wouldn't work under stock correct?) or it does not have to be unrooted?
If you could please just give me an overview of what I would have to do to go through your suggestion, it would be appreciated, thanks!
ok so let me explain my situation. I rooted my sg2 using zedomaxs method. http://galaxys2root.com/galaxy-s2-root/how-to-root-att-galaxy-s2-sgh-i777/
HTML:
flashed unnamed rom w/ entropys daily driver. now every once in awhile maybe 3 times in an hr it will just reboot and make clicking sounds.... Im overclocked (running 1600 max 200min. Conservative Around 94deg f.) Aand ive flashed a boot animation. No one commented back w/ any problems. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1307658&highlight=Boot+animation I have done no other mods. Any one offer any help? Thanks, tom.
Quick way to try fixing is to reflash. If a number of people aren't having problems like that it may have been a small problem during flashing.
A few people, myself included, have heard the clicking every once and awhile. But it's never been tied to causes issues with the phone.

your phone cant handle being overclocked to 1600, hence the reboots. try setting your max to 1400, and the reboots should stop. as for the clicking, i've never heard it before, sorry.

the problem is the same at 1400. if other people with the exact phone as mine can oc to 1600 I should be able to in theory, correct? I would love to find out what this clicking noise is all about... I thought I was imagining things for a moment. Isnt there a command in terminal to show what the phone was running before it crashed?
Thanks for the feedback
There is indeed. Just search about logcats. There's also apps on the market that will do it for you.
You should try running it at 1200. If that's rebooting as well you most likely have system issues.
Not to harp on a point but reflashing would help if that's the case.
