so just wondering when i choose a default launcher for streakdroid 1.9.0 in the install.txt will the others still be on the phone? and if not is there a way to keep them all on the phone with the install?
You will get only the one you select. Not a big deal, open the 190 zip file and look for the other apk files and install them. If you do not like them you will still be able to unistall them. Will take a little more work to delete any if you install them durinv the install of the ROM.
Hope this helps

OK, so lets try this again. I'm trying to get my Market to update to the newest version! had to hard reset my vibrant and now cant seem to get the Market to update! did it before but now nothing seems to work! tried launching it and then going back to Home Screen and waiting but still didn't update. also tried rebooting my vibrant many times. even tried installing 2.2 market apk. but that also fails to install! so xda friends please help me out! I need the new market!! Thanks
I'm probably missing your point, but grab the vending.apk and drop it in system/apps and reboot.
Already tried the vending app.wont install says a install error!

you do not install system apps, you move them to system/app and reboot.
Now, if you are talking about the 2.2 updated market for people on Eclair, you can just download that to your sd and install it and then click to "update"
I actually did not like the 2.2 market on eclair builds, but left it in the sticky so people could try it.

Dam it. Nothing seems to be working. Cant install the vending apk. Because it pops up a parsing error.cant install package! Tried moving it to system/apps folder but says I dont have permissions error! Why is the Market not updating on its own? I need the newest version of the Market. If you have any ideas please let me know asap. Maybe im just stupid! Thanks for any help!

Go to the tips and tricks thread on your phone. DL the market app. Click open once the DL completes. (If you have an app like apKatcher installed be sure to chose 'package installer'). That's it. I've done it probably a dozen times with no issues.

Omg thanks that worked great! Will I be able to get future market updates. Meaning will it update on its own? Thanks for all the help!

I searched the forum for oovoo and got no hits so if this has been answered before, I apologize.
Does anyone know how to disable or uninstall the ooVoo app at startup? I kill it under Applications -> Running Apps after every reboot but I would like a more permanent solution.
root, find the oovoo.apk in /system/app and delete
or just rename it oovoo.apk.bak if you may want it later.
root explorer is the easiest way, installing busybox and doing it from a terminal emulator or adb shell are the free ways to do it.
how to remove this oovoo on dell streak froyo 2.2.2

Root your streak, install super manager and then delete the apk as above, you can then install it from the market if necessary and uninstall at your leisure.

Asked and answered already.
1. Root the phone.
2. Install Root Explorer, Root Uninstaller, Super Manager, or any program that can manipulate system files when rooted.
3. Find the Oovoo apk.
4. Backup then delete the apk, or just delete the apk.
5. Reboot.
6. Enjoy your Oovoo-free phone.

Download the bloatware restorer from the GingerBlur thread, and then search for the DLNA apk.
found it and downloaded the dlna.apk. unable to install it. says "application was not installed"
You could also install gladiatrix.
Then put the gingerblur theme on top

You can only restore it via the CWM update process.
Basically take the bloatware.zip and remove everything but the dlna apk file and restore it... works perfectly.
The apk will not work by itself.
Also, don't unzip it... Just view the contents and delete what you don't want. It's in System App and there's some ATT stuff in Data I think
Cool give it a shot in 10 mins

downloads ginger blur again. Open the ginger blur zip and goto system/app/ get the dlna.apk on ur desk top and the drag it into winrar with window open to system/app/ .
Then flash with cwm and u will have the app. I did this for mine but i did it on a fresh install
i'll give it another shot 2nite. does it matter as to which CWM I use?
Part Three – Tenfar’s CWM Recovery
or
Alternate CWM
going to try this tonight. I just want to add the DLNA and the Media Share. Im a noob at this. Which method worked best for you? Thanks in Advanced!
I'm gonna wait unil 2.3 comes out sometime in july and see what these guys have up their sleeves.

I'm running cm7 on my vibrant.
I installed the update 31 and used cwm
I checked to install Google apps. But everything but the market installed..
Tried another 2 times, still didn't install.
Can someone send me everything I need for the market? (Besides just the .Apk)
Anyone kind enough to do this for me?
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA Premium App
First use a file manager and check /system/app for vending or other market app files and delete them.
Go to settings, applications, manage, all.....look for market and vending, delete them if they are there.
Reboot, then redownload the google apps.
Go into recovery, wipe data/factory reset.
Flash google apps package again. Fix permissions, reboot again.
Latest google apps......

if that doesnt work reflash cm7 or go back to stock with odn and then reflash cm7
K thanks guys

It *should* be as simple as replacing the new Market .apk file with the older version. i believe it has something with *vending* in the name, but can't remember exactly at the moment.
Now the tricky issue here is the Market has a built in, imo *hidden*, auto update feature. Another words, google coded the market app to silently auto upgrade itself without prompting the user or asking the user for permission.
Even if you were to load the old version of the Market app, w/o modifying the actual Market .apk, I don't think there is anyway to guarantee google won't silently upgrade you.
hope that helps!
on a personal side note, my evo 3d is still on the old market app .. i've just been waiting for the silent upgrade ..
Thanks.I can just delete it when it happens but I can't find an old vending apk

I had some trouble reverting, but was able to get it to work on my Droid Charge with Gummy 1.85, so this may not apply to you.
You will need:
-com.android.vending_2.2.6.apk (can't remember where I got it, sorry)
-Anroid Injector (Windows App)
-Computer with data cable
1. With Root Explorer, delete /data/data/com.android.vending-1.apk (or similar)
2. Plug in USB cable, make sure USB storage is not on
3. Open Android Injector
4. Select com.android.vending_2.2.6.apk
5. Open Market, it will Force Close
6. Go to settings, applications, manage applications, all
7. Select com.android-vending (or similar)
8. Force Close, Clear Data
9. Restart Phone
10. Check to see if it works, it may crash a couple times, may need to restart again.
11. Freeze the god-awful Market Update with Bloat Freezer (or similar)
good luck, I got it work, but had no success with 2.3.6
Also, an APK installer may work instead of Android Injector
What verision of the market were you trying to downgrade to??
Locked & Loaded
"" Shooter on Deck ""
quick update as I am really tired and need to sleep.
I succeeded in getting 2.2.6 to work on the Droid Charge using Gummycharged 1.85.
However, on Gummy 1.91 it crashes every time I select an app within the market.
I will do a factory reset and try again. I tried 2.26, 32, and 36 without factory reset without luck. I hope I can get it working, I can't stand the new market. I'll post results. In any case, simply making sure you get the Froyo version of the market if you are on Froyo is important.
Another thing thats easy enough is use Titanium Backup to uninstall the market. Then use an APK installer to install. Then clear cache and it should work, but may require a restart or two.
If I can't get the old market working, I may revert to an older ROM or pursue a solution to kill the update notifications (Thanks Google, I'm so glad you keep telling me that I have 80 updates. Great. Thanks. )
