Hi All,
I've had my Galaxy S2 for a couple of weeks now and i love it. I was experiencing poor battery life so i decided to root my phone so that I could run Juice Defender Pro with all options available.
I notice now that sometimes after a period of inactivity, the phone automatically powers down which is very annoying. Has anyone else noticed this and if so, found a solution?
Thanks in advance.
David.

Not sure this is Development.
Sorry about that, first time I've created a parent message. Is it possible to move it to the relevant forum?

I've moved it to Q&A
No probs - first thought is: did it power down before you installed Juice Defender?
I was using the free version of Juice Defender with the stock firmware without any problems. I rooted the phone and installed Juice Defender Pro at the same time so it's hard to know what is causing the problem.
The obvious thing todo is to uninstall Juice Defender and see if the problem persists.
Come to think about it, the only other thing which I have done is to freeze certain services such as social hub and wifi sharing.

The function (Settins-motions) which vibrates the phone when there are unread notifications and you pick it up? It should keep accelerometer alive all the time.
Also this one i started 10 days ago

As it shows 60-70% used by 'Android OS' then it must be some app like thing!!

Just so you know data used quite an amount of battery. Wifi is better than data on term of battery use.

Did you follow the advice of LexterAce in post #2 and install BBS?
If so, why not let it collect information for 5 to 10 hours and then analyze the dump? Almost always the dump can help you to find out what keeps your phone awake.
If not you could also post the dump and maybe someone else can help analyzing it. In the BBS thread are many useful tips and links about how to read and interpret the dump.
Hi, did you resolve the battery problem?
I am in the same situation, can you give me advice guys?
Thank's

Hello there.
For the last few days, the battery of my phone is draining at an exceptional rate even without use, power saving switched on and everything else turned off.
Yesterday morning it drained 5% in 3 minutes!
Any help will be appreciated.
Running stock 4.1.2
Unrooted

Buy new battery.
Any way I can test whether something is wrong with battery or software?

Please search before posting things as vague as that. No one knows anything about your problem. Are you using the phone when, or is that idle drain? Regardless of that, see here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2217943. Chances are someone else has already got the same problem as you especially if it's battery - related, so please search for it.

Hey I had a question. Seems like when start to use my phone for whatever the battery dies pretty fast. But when I don't it seems to just stay at that last percent. Android is using a lot of battery. I asked earlier about if I removed the bloat ware if that would help. Seems it would. But what about using this app called greenify. Have some people tried it ? I've read that it causes the apps to stay in hibernation until you use them. And getting cpu tuner helps too.

Lately I've been noticing my battery life isn't doing as it good as it used to be. Nothing troubling, but enough to make me want to look into getting a battery saver.
I've tried Juice defender but it won't ask for SU permissions for reasons unknown, therefore it doesn't work because the app log shows up tons of errors without permissions.
I have looked up on Google for other battery savors but most sites say Juice defender. What else can you guys recommend? Or maybe help me with juice defender? Thanks guys in advance!

I use greenify too. Also the ktweaker app within the ktoonsez kernel has some pretty good battery saving abilities. Specifically project Icarus profile does pretty well on my phone.

I've used JD and it worked, but in all honesty 2x Battery by AZSoft works better than that. Get the Pro version so you can enable night mode and all of the features. I've tried GreenPower too. That one works, but I found that it disabled stuff too well and I wasn't getting notifications when I wanted to. I have 2x set up to sync every hour during the day and 2 hours at night. I'm also using CPU Tuner and Greenify. I'm not a power user, but I do use my phone and end up using about 3-4% per hour.
