When you mount the SD card on your PC, the apps on SD become unavailable,
thus showing the default android app icon.
even though its not mounted it is still same icon. i can execute the app but its icon is the android one
Weird, try reinstalling the apps or something o.o

Just re add the widget?
that's what i thought too, but it's not in the widget list......i went back and did everything all over again, got what i was looking for. but as soon as i reboot, it says "problem loading widget" so i remove that, go to add widget and boom, not there. i attached a pic of what i had. but, like i said, once i reboot, it's gone
reinstall pandora possibly may help
If your on a Froyo rom the app needs to be stored on your phones internal memory. If the app is in the sd card the widget will dissapear from the home screen and the long press menu.
Unistall the app.
Go to settings cyanigen mod settings
Select applications
Select automatic instead of external
Thus the way the widget apps go to internal memory and will be there when you reboot.
Download the app again and you shoul be good.

Hi, I moved angry birds to my SD card via the phone' make more room wizard to save memory, however the icon now shows Android Market for Angry Birds. Is there a way to get the icon back to Angry Birds?
Thanks
Fixed, remove the widget , then put it back and its back
See if it stays after a reboot. I'm having the issue with all apps moved to SD not keeping the icons on the today screen. They are still in the app drawer. They still work but they are still the generic androids.
Just remove the icon and add it again, it should stick this time
****EDIT, yes, I rebooted and the icon was changed to generic again**** Hope they fix this issue, not a big issue, however it bugs
I see. Okay it's a bug. I did notice when I moved an app back, it reloaded everything.
I found a workaround. Change the scene and change back. Presto! Icons reload!

Ok so I have a very annoying problem with my evo. Everytime I restart the phone, the icon to any app that I have on my homescreen that is also saved on the sd card does not show up once my phone has restarted. In place of the icon is a standard android icon that takes me to the market when touched. I know that a simple fix is simply just to change the scene then change it back again to make the icons reappear, but it's such a hassle to have to do it everytime. Does anyone else have this problem, and does anyone know how to prevent it from happening so I dont always have to change the scene every time?
Put the apps back on the phone.
This is a gingerbread problem and I don't know why google hasn't done anything about it. It worked fine on Froyo on the 0g evo but as soon as gingerbread came out it appeared. The same thing happens if you use a widget for an app that you've moved to the SD card. After a reboot the widget will be disabled. Hopefully google will fix some day. It seems to be a problem with the sd card not being recognized before the apps and widgets are loaded on the homescreen. Maybe a change in the bootup sequence would help where the sd card is recognized before the home screen is rendered.
When I try to switch to "mount sd card" on the computer, I get this error. I believe I switched to the "themed" status bar, and I think that's the problem. I try to go back to the "Stock" status bar and pretty much the whole thing crashes for a bit, then reboots to the "themed" one.. so.. mm yeah. That, or the two are the same (but they aren't.. i've used both ).
I'm pretty much a total noob when it comes to phone stuff. Should I just wing it and wipe all my data?
The attached pic is the error I get when I hit "click this to change setting" for mount and stuff. then poof buh bye status bar
I get a systemui error when I try to change the status bar.
Thanks for anyone who helps!! <3

Not sure how your phone is set up, but almost sounds like your custom status bar programing is on your SD card...

Think of it this way... What programs do you still want access to when your phone is in usb mode? Personally, I have any programs related to phone use and settings manipulation on phone memory, all others on sd card memory. Like anything that is a customization or has root access, leave on your phone. Hell, I even transferred my personal ringtones to phone memory.
Go to settings/applications/manage/downloaded tab. Each app that you click can be swithed from being stored on phone or SD card memory there. Be sure your phone customizations are not.

The problem you are discribing happens with user apps that have been moved to sdcard ("Move to USB storage" in settings). Moving the apps back to internal storage ("Move to tablet" in settings) stops the user app icons from disappearing. The icons disappear only when the tablet is completely powered off and on. The icons will not disappear if the tablet is put in and out of Sleep mode. The problem does not effect icons for system apps. The problem is a bug in Android 4.0.3r5 and 4.0.3r5a. To the best of my knowledge, no fix has been found yet.
I have the same issue with no hope in solving the issue. I got frustrated and tried to move the apps or games that where disappearing to the tablet storage and off the sdcard and with out fail they disappear again after a restart.. so horrible I wish they would fix things like this.
