OK I have olive, documents to go, think free office, and have tried pretty much all of them and can still not figure out how to create a PowerPoint presentation with slides already saved to my gtab. Can someone please help me out with this problem please
So.....no body knows anything about this?
I've no idea what your question is. I higuly suggest quickoffice hd. Look in the apps section.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=928832
First post in that thread has dl link to qoffice tablet version.
i really appreciate your attempt to help me but as you can see if you read my original post i've tried pretty much all microsoft office apps (including the one you posted to me) and i cannot find out how to create a power point presentation using the slides i already have saved to my tablet. Again, i'm thankful for your attempt, but, as a general rule, if you don't even understand the question then you should probably just move on.

I have also tested most Office suites for Android and have not found a reliable replacement for a notebook/netbook. I guess that if you want to create a ppt you won't be able to do it with a tablet that is not based on windows. You could try Picsel Smart Office.
I don't use powerpoint so I'm not sure what complexity you are looking for.
The online help for Office Suite Pro has a tutorial for creating creating PowerPoint presentations on your android device.
Sorry if this does not help, like I said I don't use powerpoint

JQ,
If you mean uploading an app to the Market, then you need to sign-up to be an Android developer (25 bucks).
Some useful links:
http://developer.android.com/index.html
http://developer.android.com/guide/publishing/publishing.html
http://market.android.com/publish
Didn't see your thread until after I got home from work...
Cheers!
if you just want to post comments, you first need to download the app, then you get the option to rate and comment. Download app, then hit Post a Comment
thanks you very much. Sorry I had to delete because no one would help me out. Just one person but didn't understand.
I paid the fee and got an account. I'm just not sure about those "manifest, xml, and other files" to put in my app. I'm not a developer, I just create images on my photoshop cs5. I do a good job and wouldn't post junk. I just don't know the lingo that goes with the app. I create good quality, very detailed icons, clocks, docks would love to create a theme but its the files that I don't know.
I was looking for help on this.

There's tons of great web sites with simple tutorials and apps--a great way to get started and dip your toe in the pool, so-to-speak. I've found that by searching and trying stuff out, you'll learn a lot in a short time. Don't try to absorb and understand it all at once--there's just too much. Take small bites of the Android pie and it'll digest much easier
There's a few good books out there too, but I would advise searching for helpful sites that lead you through some simple apps first. This will teach you about Eclipse and the basic things that you can do for building said apps.
Good luck and cheers!
I know there's some lengthy workaround to the lack of live/msn support on the Touchpad, but it also seems pretty buggy. Is there a plugin available or client app at all?
Thanks!
I dont have a touchpad yet but if nothing else works you could a web app for it.
For example: http://imo.im

are you talking about the Jabber workaround? If my Gtalk worked I would use it.
The imo site it cool thanks LP.
[Q] Windows live messenger/MSN client or compatability
The default instant messenger client on the touchpad doesn't presently support WLM/MSN. Does anyone know of any plans to create a dedicated app or a plug in for the stock IM application?
I was going to ask the same thing. Seems like search isnt working, but someone mentioned there is hack to get it working. Just wish search was up! grr
Please make sure that you check the forums before creating new threads. I can understand it can be difficult if the forum has run into 100's of pages, but this is just about 4 pages. There is no excuse to not search or to just simply browse.
Please read the rules and new Iron Fist Operation before posting in the forums.
This thread has been merged with an existing thread on the same subject.

seems a bit much for what its worth, but if youve got some free time
If nothing else works you could try install an msn program from UbuntuChroot?
[Q] can you get msn messenger on the touchpad ?
I see the likes of google, aol etc are there, but the most popular one isn't ?
anyway of adding msn messenger to the hp touchpad ?
the only way ive seen is to use the jabber work around, just google 'jabber touchpad' and it will come up, but you need linux to make it work it seems :/ other than that you could always just use ebuddy from the browser doesnt seem to have any discernible lag
Yeah the chat program is a little lame...no MSN or Facebook chat...and the facebook app doesn't include the chat feature...so have to use plain web browser.
Any update on this? I really need/require msn/windows live messenger support
There is a way to do it, when I have a little time I'll see if I can find the site with instructions.
Hi,
I saw on Internet some services that give you the possibility to test an Android app on the web: for example, Manymo launches an emulator on a remote server and give you the possibility to interact with it. AppSurfer let you test your Android app in an emulator-like environment. Pieceable Viewer is similar to AppSurfer but for iOS.
According to you, how these services are implemented?
Maybe there are some emulators running on a remote server on which run a vnc server, but looking at AppSurfer or PieceableViewer they looks too responsive for this implementation.
Any ideas?
Thanks
There's a forum for the Motorola Defy, and looking around, I find many people asking the same question as you. Apparently, there's still no way to root it.
Keep looking/waiting.

I'm sorry but I didn't understood your answer. I looked in the Motorola Defy forum but I didn't find any reference to what I was asking for
Can you paste the link of the thread you're speaking about?
Thank you
No one has any idea about it?
(I hope this is the correct section of the forum for this type of thread)
Wow. Sorry, I must have replied to the wrong thread! I have no memory of reading your post.

Hi..
I have recorded a video which i tried to send through Whatsapp but i couldn't because the size is big. Is there any APP that would re-size it or like send it into more than one file (partition it)?

Hi. It is really sad, you know, that such phone like I9300 is so popular. Why? Because it is given as the Christmas gift, Frist Confession, Hanukkah and plenty other occasions to the peoples who:
1. Are too lazy to find easiest solutions by themselves
2. Are too pathetic to recognize even that this is NOT I9300 specific question, but generic Android one
This is XDA forum, you know... in theory, developers, troubleshooting of the mess created by unusual actions like overclocking, customizations etc.
But, OK, if your mom in at work, your nanny is busy with her boyfriend, let me help you.

I am truly sad that you had to trouble your hand in writing all of what you wrote.
I have already used Google and found several app's but it wasn't what i wanted exactly that's why i asked. I am not very sure why ur sad to help someone who of course ha looked and searched before asking!
The form and this section is for people to ask, so why you are sad again?

Video Editor on the Play store is my only suggestion .Or take the video to PC and cut it .
As you say Google search found nothing suitable i wont mention any of the apps found .
jje
Well, I'm guessing that you bought this phone new, and as a result you have 50gb of free Dropbox storage.
Why don't you upload whatever video you want on your Dropbox account and then send the public link to who ever it is that you wanted to send it to?
All of this can be done directly though the phone, so it shouldn't be so much of a hassle.
In the even that you got this phone off the second hand market, you have (AFAIK) 5gb of free storage on Google Drive, which is also hooked automatically to your Gmail account, so you could also use that.
Just trying to be helpful, good luck on your Android adventure.

Hello everyone,
i am new to this forum and that is why i am posting it here. I am going to buy a new phone. The one i have stinks, however that is not the issue i want to address. I am stuck between samsung galaxy s3 and the windows 8x by HTC. The thing is that i use it for school and need to address some things about it
1) i download files a lot from my schools site, powerpoints, .rtf files, word documents, etc. So i need to know if i can download and view them right on my phone.
2) is the office application to view these files good? can i edit files if i want? SOLVED
3) i frequently use dropbox. is it supported? SOLVED
4) does it support mobile hotspot? i don't use it frequently but i have a tablet that on small occasion i have to use the hotspot.SOLVED
5) is the battery life ok on the 8x? SOLVED
6) is back up assistant on the 8x? i have verizon. if not how can i save my contacts if i go with this phone?
7) is IE 10 a good browser? i have never tried it.SOLVED
8) how is the app store? good or bad? does it have a navigation app? SOLVED
sorry for all the questions. i dont have an upgrade and want to make sure i get the right phone for the money.
i don't need to ask any questions about the s3 because i know android and that it works for all the above mentioned.
Thanks to anyone who can give me some guidance here.

Not helpful
I think (but i'm really subjective) that WP8 is better than android for "working": Office is really helpful and you can read .ppt and .doc documents. Dropbox is supported and you can create an mobile hotspot easily. IE10 metro is really better than its predecessors (in desktop i still use chrome ). The app store is...mh...is better the android one i think, but compared to the wp7's store, the wp8 one is good

I use android, and I use most of these services...
Dropbox for auto upload full size images to web instantly then download to pc.
GoogleDrive for backing up unlimited amount of photos on web (size decreases to 1024px width/height max )
SkyDrive for taking notes on the go and office files.
WP8 does support DropBox...
search for more apps here...
