[Q] Is there a dock mode with dimmable clock? - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Does the SGSII have a dock mode that gets enabled when docked?
i.e. Can the phone open an app/the dock mode which includes a clock?
Further to this, can the clock then be dimmed whilst on the dock so that it isn't insanely bright at night time?

I use Kaloer Clock to do this very thing, it can be dimmed right down and set to auto-start when connected to AC.

Thanks for the tip. I presume it doesn't/can't inhibit the fully charged screen illumination can it?

I'll be honest I haven't noticed; I have mine set to auto silence at night so I don't hear the fully charged notification.

[Q] Disable auto dim while charging/docked?

is this possible? and if so, how? i've tried a few apps from the market, but they didn't seem to work
Why? Do you hate your phone so much, you need a quick way to burn in the screen?
Actually, while it's in my car dock and I'm using google maps, or any music, it's hard to see the screen after it dims, esp. when driving with my convertible top down in the daytime.

Have you tried STAYAWAKE? Keeps screen on while plugged in to any source that charges.
the screen stays on already... but it still dims until i touch the screen again.
Use Tasker - it's more complicated than most apps, but it gives you tons more control over your phone too.
Just remember to both turn off auto-dim as well as turn your brightness up for the "plugged in" event or it won't work properly if you use tasker!
I have a setting for plugged and unplugged, as well as at home (in range of my wireless SSID) and away. So my GPS turns on when plugged in and away, but not plugged in at home. But my display is set up the way you want as well - and mine increases the display timeout too.

How I Can I Enable Auto Dim?

I'd like an app or setting to automatically dim the screen (backlight 0) when the phone is idle for a few seconds before dimming the screen. I use Tasker to disable screenlock during cradle usage, and yet I can't find a way to dim the screen when idle to reduce battery usage and improve the charging speed.
Any help? I couldn't find anything with search.
You can either download a app/widget off the market to control that. Or use the built in widget power center by holding on the home screen and selecting widgets. They at the bottom pick and drag the power center to your home screen and you can control how long you want the phone to idle, brightness set to either auto, full, half. Also there is a disable wifi toggle and others.

i've had trouble locating a good app
more google searching with no results. Plenty of results on android phones with asking how to BLOCK auto dim. However, for someone looking to set the dim timeout on a galaxy note, nothing. I can't find anything in the settings and Tasker doesn't show an option either.
Any other ideas?

[Q] Can you turn off notification LED?

Is it possible to disable the notification LED at night. The phone sits on my bedside table and charges so the light is annoying.
I have root so if there is an app that works to control it, that'll do
Thanks
Turn the phone upside down Actually works quite well.

Amazingly enough, I had thought of that but I sit it in a holder with the clock displayed and screen dimmed so I'd like a way to disable it, ideally with Tasker.

[Q] Amoled clock when screen is turned off?

I've got a Nexus S phone with an amoled screen and I was wondering, is it possible to make it so that when the screen is turned off, a clock appears on the screen?
I remember some nokia phone that also had an amoled screen and that had a neat feature; whenever the screen was turned off, there was an always-on clock that'd show up, and since the clock was small and the rest of the screen stayed black, it didn't drain the battery.
I mean, that'd be a pretty cool thing to have on amoled android phones, no?

did you try ?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.saulius.mockus.off
looks like this app does what you want
That's pretty neat but all it does is prevent the lockscreen from showing up and everything else works, touchscreen and capacitive buttons included :c I was more looking for a clock that would show up after the screen completely turned off and where neither the touchscreen or capacitive buttons would work
you looking for something to display at all times ?

this app allows to set triggers with different light levels
means you can set your phone to dim level near 0 or 0 itself and set trigger when you lock screen(any lockscreen (with clock)) it will start its work and keep device screen "on" but not off
btw you will never get deep sleep if this is on

Trigger, Tasker, or other. Change lockscreen notification settings?

Hello all, I have trigger setup to automatically turn on my lockscreen with a pin when I plug it in to charge, as sometimes people get nosey while you sleep. I was wondering if either app or perhaps some other one has a way to automatically turn off the lock screen notifications at the same time the phone locks, and then when my other trigger to disable the lock screen (when my phone connects via bluetooth to my truck) it could turn them back on?
Anyone know if this is possible?
Thanks!
