ok so i ALWAYS have a problem sending/reciving mms pictures via text thru handcent. I'm NEVER able to send/download mms pictures using my 3g. It only works via wifi. But if the mms started always with 3g, it HANGS and NEVER downloads. so im not even able to view it unless i start it with wifi. how do i fix this?!?1

Hello, when I text and go over certain amount of characters, my text messages are getting split into 2 or even 3 text messages depending on how long it is. Is there a way to fix that issue?

It's not an issue. That's how messages must be sent over cdma to ensure they go thru properly

Well... I never had this issue with the EVO 4G. It started happening now with the EVO 3D. Rooting had to do anything with removing that limit?
No its a limit of text messages or the app your using most apps combine multiple texts into to "one" text

Yes you did. You may not have noticed it, but seeing as that's how CDMA networks work, it definitely happened. Most sms apps show whatever you sent in the text thread as being one message no matter how many messages its actually broken up into. Frankly, even the stock app does this so I'm not sure why it would even concern you.

Yea, doesn't happen for me on the Evo 4g either. My girl still has hers, and I just had her send me a very long text. It came through as just that, one very long text. I copied the text then (copy / paste) and then pasted it in the text field to send it back to her. It split it into 3 texts. I have seen many people say that that's how it is with CDMA, but I only ever had that happen on an AOSP rom with the Evo4g. With sense roms, (on the Evo4G) it somehow keeps it all in one long text without splitting it. Not sure how, but it does.

That's weird cause it did split on my EVO due to CDMA lack of perform correctly
If you don't have an Evo3d well you don't have an Evo3d
Anyone else not able to send MMS when roaming? I have full roaming data through Verizon using the browser and other apps. For some reason it won't send/receive MMS though and this is in areas where I was previously able to use MMS on both my Epic and my Evo. Any ideas would be a great help
I had the same issue at the lake. I was trying to send some pictures of my kids and it would not do it because I was roaming. However, I could email them. I was never able to figure it out.
EDIT: Like you, I was able to send a mms while roaming from the same spot with my Samsung Moment. Here is another thread to read through, but no real answers.

Do you need to add another APN for your MMS?
On o2 in the UK we have to add two apn's, one for data and the other to enable sending MMS's.

Goto Settings > Wireless & Networks > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names > Hit settings button > new apn

No option for addding APN on mine Ive tried pulling the MMS proxy settings out but that didnt help. Cant seem to find the right place to edit the current APN either....

Not too sure if I read correctly in another thread that adding another APN is blocked with certain networks, cannot remember if I just dreamt this or not.

I didnt have the APN setting either. The MMS isnt working over wifi.
I have the same problem with the Photon. I had no problems with my previous phone sending and receiving MMS while roaming, but I can't do either with my Photon. Sucks too because I am roaming all day at work and when people send me an MMS it doesn't even let me know because I am roaming. I usually find out at a later point while looking through Texts that someone sent a MMS.
i have bad service where im at and it takes hours for me to get text. on my sensation when i was on T-mo i could do it over wifi. any help?
Google voice can do texting over wifi and calling but I don't know how the calling part works but for texting it will do what you want over WiFi.

I would also love to know if there's any way to text/voice call over wifi, since I never get signal at a certain place. I have to walk around the building like an idiot looking for signal.
However, I'm with Rogers in Canada, and Google Voice doesn't work here. Any ideas?
There may be something else that can do that through some tweaks. I'm not sure what tho... Google for some "alternatives to Google voice"

you could you use textfree for text I believe it works with wifi...

I've heard from a people on Sprintusers that GV now supports MMS.
I've used and tried GrooveIP with some success, but the call quality has been very inconsistent, even within the same call. I haven't tried since it was updated, so perhaps it's gotten better. You might want to give it a try and see how it works for you.

I actually think that is due to ICS my gn doesn't send via WiFi either neither does the 3d on ics...
No sprint phone sends mms over wifi. It authenticates with the sprint mms server via 3g only. Always been that way

hey i have an mms app that works perfectly on the lte, however, i was just messing with the settings on qpst on my lte and messed something up because internet won't connect any more you think you can send me the qpst settings your phone has and i'll send you the mms app?

Hey no liar here sorry it took so long, I've been extremely busy with school, I just sent you the email,
I didn't make this nor do I claim i did, where i got my phone flashed they use the messaging up you can download here http:// mms.flashingtools. com/, (sorry about the spaces, just delete them but the forum won't let me post it otherwise), just download it, install it like a regular apk(not system) and it should work.
I like gosms pro and switching back and forth just to send pictures was annoying me so i deleted it and just went ahead and put the custom mms settings on gosms pro, that works perfectly for me, just another alternative i suppose
Lol sorry about that, the app you sent me need to validate an account or something to work. So it's pointless for anyone else to use unless someone can find a fix/patch/crack or whatever you decide to call it lol.
Also can you please send me the settings your using for GoSMS. I tried some settings but they haven't worked for me.

hello i flashed my evo 4g lte to metro and i can't seem to get 3g going. do i need a different radio or prl or is it something else? i did all the steps and was able to get 1x then i flashed prl 9033 and i can get 3g but it goes off and on for a few seconds and then nothing. but one thing i did notice was that i use an lte settings app and when i switch to cdma + lte/edvo i get metropcs as my 4g provider. is it possible to get lte? any help or info will be helpfull
