I have a few questions about ED03 - Fascinate Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I searched the forums, but I am unsure where to find the information I am looking for. If anybody can point me in the right direction, i'd be very grateful.
Does the community rom work with ED03 (voodoo?) and does the kaos gingerbread CM7 work with that kernel, ED03 (voodoo?)
what is the difference between ED03 and ED01 and EA28?

Are you referring to the kernel or the modem? I don't think either ROM will work with a stock kernel, need custom kernels. There are no custom ED03 kernels that I know of.
ED03 and ED01 are the stock Froyo builds from verizon/samsung, EA28 is the last stock Eclair build from verizon/samsung. Not sure if that is what you were looking for in terms of the differences.

That is exactly what I was looking for! I just wasn't sure which modem to flash from this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1097355
So it appears ED01 is the way to go for both chaos's cm7 and the community rom.

Yes, probably ED01 as the consensus seems to be there isn't any difference between the ED01 and ED03 modems. And in case you didn't know for sure (couldn't tell from the way your OP was worded) modems and ROMs are neither voodoo nor nonvoodoo. Kernels are either voodoo or nonvooodoo, and when included in a ROM, they are what make a ROM voodoo or nonvooodoo.

How come the community rom post says its for voodoo only, even though it apparently has an included kernel.

Because the included kernel is voodoo.

JI6 modem over JAC's voodoo kernel?

I flashed JAC's kernel w/ voodoo & colorfix last night, using the back support files, and everything is good. However, I had previously flashed the JI6 modem for the better reception, and the back support files revert the modem back to JI2. Does anyone know for certain if the JI6 modem can now be reflashed without any ill effects? The thread in the Dev. section is silent on this question. TIA.

Shouldn't pose any issues at all... Ahhh, I see what your referring to. I'm not sure why the official back ported files zip contains the kernel or modem. If you'd like, here's a stand-alone flashable JI6 modem.

[Q] Is it ok to flash froyo kernels on atriac v1

I am wanting to know if you can flash any froyo kernels on atriac v1 and also modems. Thanks for all the help to in advance. Also the Ka7 kernel is no good in my area any suggestions
You will be fine I was using overstock 1.5 til a few minutes ago now I'm using tiger's blood v2. As far as a modem you may want to try Kb1 a lot of people seem to have good things to say about that one but it all depends on where your at.
Any Vibrant froyo 2.2 kernel/modem will work with our 2.2.1 builds.
Yes, care has been taken to ensure maximum compatibility between our 2.2.1 releases and available vibrant kernels. Be sure to read the kernels install instructions prior to flashing too.

Unsure of what to flash

I am currently running an older version of superclean (based on EB01, voodoo). Today I saw a new rom that is interesting me:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1050453
I am not sure what I need to do before flashing that. Is there a radio/kernel, etc that I need to grab or is everything included in that rom? Sorry if the question can be obviously answered via search, a lot of the numbers and names of things confuse and overwhelm me.

It is a little involved but this is what you do to get ready for the Comm Rom.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1044474
If you need odin or any help figuring it out here is a walkthrough.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1026746
Does the comm rom include everything then? Also, since I am on voodoo, can I odin that DL09 package?
The community ROM includes a kernel. You still need to flash the radio separately. Yes, I'm pretty sure you can odin the DL09 package if you are on voodoo. Just odin the DL09 package and get all the samsung updates. This will get you the ED01 radio. Then you just need to root, flash clockworkmod, and flash the community ROM.
does no one ready the stickied threads?
I have a very detailed walk through for community rom (or any other for that matter) stickied in this very forum.

[Q] Going from Comm Rom to TSM Resurrection?

Want to upgrade from Comm rom 2.1 with the voodoo kernel it came with, probably to the recent TSM Resurrection 1.0. Looks like there's another compatible voodoo kernel out, can I flash that first, and then the new rom? Or do I need to undo voodoo and go back to stock, starting from there? Not sure what radio I'm on, baseband says EB01.
Sorry if these questions suck, I haven't upgraded for months. Looking for opinions on best order of operations here is all! Thanks everyone.

Odin PWGB 2. 0 which is a complete tar package. Then flash tsm res in Cwm. Then you can choose your kernel and lag fix settings
TSM Resurrection 1.0,TKSGB10-18,XIX,ec09 radio.
This is a question. Questions go in the ......question and answer forum.
To answer your question, these are all bml roms. Assuming that you have an ec09 or later radio you should be able to flash it after wiping data unless the Op of the new rom says that it requires the gingerbread bootloaders.

Damn, figured I would do something wrong, maybe a mod can move this.
Thanks for the tips guys.

In case it helps anyone, this worked perfectly. I have so far kept the kernel that comes with PWGB2.0 to see how it is, but I miss the BLN tools and voodoo sound.

[Q] Kernel for PowerWashed GB?

Hey guys, finally gathered the balls to flash my Fascinate a custom ROM today. After a long while of deciding what to go with, i found PowerWashed GB and flashed it with Odin and to my relief it worked and i went on and installed the permission package for it and my APN for Cricket.
Anyways!
I'm looking for a working kernel for my ROM (PowerWashed GB), I've checked out Leankernel but there's a few bugs in it. Can anyone recommend me a good stable ROM that works on PWGB?
Or possibly even better, a good reliable ROM that i can simply flash from where in at now? Please don't recommend Cyanogenmod, unless i can get a detailed guide because when i tried to flash it i got an error and it messed up my display and my keyboard got stuck open, and it was just hell so i re-flashed PWGB and was back to good.
