What's the best screen protector for this phone? I've tryed the IPG Shield (a copy of ZAGG) but it isn't very good !
lexard's truevue is great.
I tried invisible shield, it was hard to apply, and I also didn't like the sticky feel.
if you like more traditional screen protectors try Lexard.
Their films are super thin (which also makes the application a bit hard.
also the adhesive under the film don't quite reach the very edges of the film.
but if you carefully apply these are great. they don't scratch easily and look fantastic.
in both glossy and anti glare.

I tried Zagg invisible shield, and its great, yesterday I have accidentally rub/hit my phone to a un-finished wall(rough wall). I was amazed that the phone does not have any scratch on it. with that much force and friction, I though that I need to replace the invisible shield or worse My phone would have a large scratch/dent on it. but my phone and the shield survive without a scratch. Is it because of invisible shield or It was just my lucky day.
anyway, I recommend it for any phone. If youre going to protect your phone, better protect it with good protector. unless you only need to protect it against smudges.
You can protect your phone with a normal screen protector but in the end of the day, those one with good screen protector will ensure that your phone will survive accidents like what I have.
by the way, there is a local retailer here on our country(philippines), and they will also install the shield once you bought it from them. so the installation (hard part) will be on them, while you should check after the installation if they install it properly.
have a look on ebay. I bought mine from there and I think there were 3 in the pack. I don't remember the manufacturer, but it's done a great job and doesn't affect the touchscreen in any negative way. I cut the spare ones to fit the screens of two digital cameras I have.
Now that's value for money
i think the original screen-protector is the best
I wanted to get one but could never find anything good, tried those "cut-to-fit" = FAIL
Went on a trip to Shanghai and was looking... couldnt find.... but then...
I found the perfect protector, Sony Camera 2.7 inch display protector.
These are made for Sony Cameras, the display, but work extra perfect and really are durable and have a good feel.
What's the best for glare tho? I find the mini screen a real pain outdoors on a sunny day, I am not so concerned with protection as my leather clamshell case will protect the whole phone from drops and scratches.. I just want the best out door functionality. (or perhaps no screen protector would be best?)

Zagg Invisible Sheild Maximum Protection is the beast of Protection against scratches, nicks etc
I had it for a year, once my mini had fallen dead spot on the screen, no visible scratches at all. L
http://www.zagg.com/invisibleshield...es-screen-protectors-covers-skins-shields.php
you can also go with screen coverage only, but for a few bucks I'd rather buy the maximum coverage.
I currently have Maximum coverage covering only the front of the phone, leaving the back unprotected. Back covers are cheap to find, and it's nicer with that gloss original finish.
I second the Zagg Invisible Sheild Maximum Protection as it has worked really great for me.
nice, i'll look for it
I have invisible shield too. The first one unstucked after 6 months around top left sensors (mimmi). It was replaced for free.
I am wondering which ones you guys bought for your players (Obviously those screens are too nice to be scratched ). I got the Zagg Invisibleshield on their cyber Monday sale for $8
Same thing for me, same promotion. Now, I hate those Zagg guys.
But the important thing I guess is that the screen protector works well.
I bought a cheap ebay set, used for 2-3 weeks, removed. They scratched too easily. I like it bare! Have nice leather case, hopefully I won't scratch it... or good ones will become available.

After trying different types of screen protectors for my phone and tablet, I found that it is best to bare it. Screens produced these days are very tough actually, I don't have any scratches on any devices so far.
These days I only get screen protectors to deal with fingerprints... The Moshi screen protectors AT&T carries are great for this. Problem is that since the SGP5 isn't an AT&T phone, I don't get the usual 50% discount on accessories I get.
I had a ZAGG InvisibleShield on my Huawei S7, which was decent, and reminds me I need to eBay that piece of **** tablet. (Whatever you all do - don't buy Huawei products. They've improved build quality a lot, but customer support for their devices SUCKS.)
The SGP5 is a fingerprint/fingersmudge magnet.
I find there are fewer fingerprints bare than with a protector (at least the cheap ones). A bare screen also cleans much easier. I may try one of those matte anti-fingerprint ones. Bare is so smooth and responsive!

Yeah, the Moshis I had on my Infuse and have on my GSII are matte anti-fingerprint - love em'!
I got on my 2 Galaxy tabs Ghost Armor but on my 2 SGS II i got the Zagg but I will take it off and go with the Ghost Armor, I like it better!!
i got a skinomi screen protector and carbon fiber skin protector. the screen protector works pretty well, the skin is really just for a little more grip.
i had some issues with shipping, but, long story short, they had some great customer service, and they ended up shipping me two.
I have seen a lot of comments about Zagg that the screen protector feels rubbery or sticky to the touch. Is that correct? How about the ghost armor.
At this point, I have not put anything on. I like the look and touch of the screen, and I the only pocket that I would put my SGP 5 in is my shirt pocket. It has a folio case for traveling.
I would like to keep the screen protected, but just don't know what to use that I have not read bad comments about.
I have zagg on 2 of my devices and they were both a little sticky feeling for the first week or so, but as you use it, it irons out to a perfect smooth. I love Zagg and I'll get one for every device I own!

I got a Skinomi screen protector and wood skin for my Archos 70. The skin gave it better grip but after 6 months, the skins small pieces kept falling off. The screen protector though is great. Never coming loose. I had a couple scratches show up on it but after a few minutes they disappeared. Also the bare screen was a finger print magnet but once I go this screen protector on it was much better. Loved Skinomi screen protector so much I ordered one the for my Samsung 5 minutes after I ordered the device itself. Screen protector came before the device so I was able to put it on right away. Looks great, finger prints barely show up, never need to clean off the screen, never got any scratches showing up.

Supposedly the Zagg are made of the same material as the Skinomi. I noticed that it does have a little bit of a rubbery feel which doesn't bother me. It also did have a bit of a sticky feel, but that went away after a while. I thought maybe I got used to the sticky feel but I had one of these on my Archos tablet and the sticky feel went away, then when I got my Samsung and put a skinomi on that I felt the sticky again so it was not that I got use to the sticky feeling, it actually went away (The sticky feeling on my Samsung is now gone). I don't think I'll ever get another mobile device without getting a Skinomi screen (or ZAGG if they happen to be cheaper).
How is the quality, I want a protector for my SGP, too
I had a cheap Ebay one on it, but took it off because it got greasy way too fast. I like it bare, I'm not too worried about scratches. I tried scratching it with an exacto knife and it didn't scratch. I carry it around in this case which protects it very well: http://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-...GEOQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1327694289&sr=8-1
I also have this case on the device, that gives it a good grip and additional protection.
I use an xtreemegaurd. I like it a lot! Easy to install, and I only have like one or two air bubbles, (not on the screen)
I bought a basic TPU
I bought 2 but I lost one, always good to have the film on it
any tips on how to remove bubbles on screen protectors? they're annoying
Remove protector is easiest way. I've been running bare for a month, no scratches yet! Otherwise if you are careful you should be able to get no bubbles. They are usually caused by lint or dust specks. You can try pealing back and using tape to remove the dust, then roll it back down. I have yet to find a protector that feels as good as the raw screen (which seems very durable)

I am using Stealth Shieldz. They are just like Zagg, but a lot cheaper and come with two. They are like 3 dollars on amazon. Absolutely no air bubbles. It is also a tad bit thinner than zagg I believe. It is a great screen protector. Lifetime warranty. So far so good.

Hello fellow nexus 6 enthusiasts. I would like your opinion on cases and screen protectors to find the ones that best fit my needs if you could take the time to read below:
I have already experienced the horror of breaking my baby (ie nexus 6). A couple weeks ago it slipped out of my hand onto the unforgiving pavement and the screen made a horrific snapping sound. I knew before even looking at it that it was game over for my screen.
After sending it in to motorola and receiving a replacement phone a few days later (at the cost of $175, I highly recommend this for anyone in a similar dilemma of fixing a broken nexus 6), I have finally gotten this awesome phone back up and running and I want to make sure it never gets hurt again!
I currently have: a Ringke slim nexus 6 sf black case with a standard PoS screen protector that came with the case for free.
I am looking to get a very sturdy case. Not that I am planning on launching my phone at hard surfaces anytime soon, but I am definitely looking for some of the most sturdy cases to prevent such a horrific event from ever happening again.
I loved having a battery case on my galaxy s4 from mophie and generally would only compromise the slimness and height / width of the phone for extra battery power. While I do love to keep everything slim, if a case has far superior safety results to its competitors at the cost of adding on a little bulk, I'm willing to make the compromise.
Ideally I would love to invest in a screen protector that also gives me the most protection for the least amount of bulk added on. I've been reading about curved glass plates that can be applied to iphones that are having great results but haven't found anything about there being a version for the n6 yet.
Any advice from experience or general ratings / research would be much appreciated. I have been doing my own research and reading up on my options, but with so much out there on the market I could use the help narrowing down my options.
Thanks!
As far as screen protectors go TG is very hit and miss and I wouldn't recommend messing with them in their current state. I recommend the Spigen Crystal film plastic screen protector. It provides he most coverage (for plastic) and feels the best. I've tried 10+ different screen protectors including glass and this was by far the best option.
For a case there are many OP's in this section but I know you are looking for a heavy duty case. The Trident case seems to be excellent and youcan buy it on amazon here below. I don't like bulky cases so I use TPU cases. I like my SupCase Beetle with the frosted back and the Spigen Ultra hybrid (the buttons suck in the Spigen but it looks nice). I haven't dropped my Nexus yet. (I dropped one of my ones that I had to RMA and it was fine) but I'm sure the case would protect the phone quite well.

thanks for the input, I'll check those out. Why are tempered glass protectors hit or miss? I never used screen protectors / cases (besides battery cases) with the purpose of keeping my phone from exploding lol so I'm only recently reading up on them.
After experiencing the horror of dropping my nexus I never want that to happen again, but it's hard to figure out which cases actually make any difference in a fall. I'm betting my current case would do little to nothing since it's a flimsy piece of plastic, but all the other cases look pretty much the same lol.
screen protectors, they help protect the screen from shattering / cracking, correct? or are they just another piece of plastic that I shouldn't count on to save my phone in a potential tumble?

They prevent scratches on the screen. If the phone falls, the screen protector is generally not going to protect the screen due to the lack of coverage to the very edges.
As for TGSP, I think the only two worth considering are the Orzly or the Jellycomb. All the others are cut too large and will not fully adhere to the screen, leaving a "halo" effect around the edges. Both of the above can be found on Amazon.
For cases you have a wide range of choices, my personal favorite after trying several is the Ringke Max. It's a solid case, IMO better than any Spigen available and will definitely protect your phone. At the same time, it's not overly bulky or large.
Another nice case that not many people talk about, maybe they don't even know it exists, is the PureGear Slim shell. Not as protective as the MAX but nicer looking IMO.
So I'm getting my S8 today but I still don't have anythong for its protection.
1.) What is the best CLEAR case for this device that gives it basic (slim but not too slim)? I also want to have that raised lip for the fingerprint sensor in the back.
2.) For screen protectors, is Temperd Glass recommended for curved devices? If so, which one is best?
I want to have the total cost for these at a minimal as I don't feel like spnding a lot just for the these basic accessories.
Thanks for the help!
Well I wasted almost 30 bucks on screen protectors and the only thing I can say is DO NOT buy any 3D tempered glass that is supposed to cover whole front. The main problem here is the adhesive which is located only on edges of the protector. There is air between screen and protector, which sometimes decreases touch responsivity, forcing you to apply some pressure in certain areas so that the input is registered. Also, most of these 3D glass protectors collide with many cases, so they simply don't work. Personally, just go for some decent case that will secure your device from drop, like RhinoShield or Spigen Neo Hybrid. If you care about design and don't want to lose it, go for something clear and thin/ultra thin
I bought a Baseus case from eBay and lobe it so much. So thin and light and matches perfectly. They are in Amazon too.
Also works with my Darth Vader skin that I have on the back so it still shows that off.

Definitely do not buy any harted glass. I have ordered 3D TPU film that has adhesive on whole surface it will ship on thursday so I will tell ya if it works or not

I strongly thinking of going back to no protector. I tried glass and the White Stone dome one was great except the glue on the side kept chipping out and looked terrible. I've got a film protector on now from Best Buy Canada and again it feels so crappy compared to the naked screen. If I remove it I'll still be careful but I do have insurance just in case. I already don't use a case (only a skin) for the very same reason...that I want to enjoy the feel and look of this beauty, not cover to up to protect it for someone else in the future.

I did that with my HTC 10 for a year for the same reason and it has no scratches or micro-abrasions at all. I think it's pretty safe to assume the S8 will be no different. As for going caseless... I wouldn't recommend that for a device mainly made of glass lol. Check out the Supcase review I just posted and try it out if you like. If not, return it or at least you'd have something to put on your phone when you're going somewhere or doing something that may cause you to drop it.

Right, I don't have a doubt regarding their genuineness. It's just that there are other screen protectors like the Spigen Neo Flex that costs $8.99 for a 2-pack as well. Same goes for the clear cases, there are others that are significantly cheaper than the Samsung. So I'm just wondering how do these fare with the official Samsung ones. Any thoughts?

im gonna order the Spigen liquid Crystal as well. as the reviews says its very good case. (remindes the Ringke features)

I just finished installing the Whitestone Dome tempered glass screen protector. Initial thoughts so far is it's the best on the market hands down. Make sure you check for case compatibility before you purchase it though. The price is a little steep at $45 but well worth it IMO. The adhesive is under the entire glass and uses a UV to cure. Clarity and touch performance seem to be spot on. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B06Z...+galaxy+s8&dpPl=1&dpID=51W7ozwV4HL&ref=plSrch

Me too, in Midnight Black color! Very elegant and nice.
Haven't understand yet if the clear back will become yellow or not in time...
About the screen protection, I'm a tempered glass lover. Since I've been using them I've saved all my old phones.
I've tried some curved glasses on my S8, but finally the Zagg Sapphire Curve is available in Europe and I've ordered one!
I know, it's not glass, but it's supposed to be harder then glass, and got now it's the cheapest solution for having a protection this good that adheres to all the device's screen.
And I've seen that it's case friendly and that not that bad in touchscreen sensitivity!

The Spigen ultra hybrid on my S7 Edge stayed pretty much clear the year I had it. I'm using a Armorsuit Military screen protector. It's not glass but it will do for now. It's really difficult to find a tempered glass protector for a curved screen. It seems like all if them are junk. I wait and let others experiment until there is one that really works without issues.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XXTRWBL/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
For clear case, my recommendation would be the Spigen Ultra Hybrid clear or the Otterbox Symmetry Clear. The otterbox is slightly chunkier but not much.
As for a screen protector I've tried the Samsung official one and the Spigen Neo Flex.
The Samsung one is a dry application and therefore is extremely difficult to get on right without dust spots. I tried it on 3 different phones and didn't get either of them right, even with the dust removal sticker.
The Spigen Neo Flex is a wet application which is far better cause when it dries out it leaves no dust spots or air bubbles. But imo the corners aren't a perfect fit for most cases. Again I tried a few and even with Spigen cases the corners lifted on all of them. A little trimming of the corners with a scalpel solved this. This protector isn't as clear looking as the Samsung dry film but is of the "military material type" and so self heals with any minor dings and scratches. I'd trim the corners a little (follow the contour of the corner and trim off a mm or two) before applying this for best adhesion on all corners for a case. It def has a slightly different feel to screen but at rhe moment I think this is the best solution of at the moment to protect out precious S8 screens.
Hope this helps.

Went for this one on Amazon Spain, might be a bit bulky but will probably buy more
Update: got this today but it is noticeably bulky compared to the standard case.Lip protection is good though and overall would be a better option for fall protection.
Does feel more slippy though because of the bulk so back to the standard you case for now

Yes I think that is the best one. Had been waiting for it to show up in AliExpress.
Received the rugged case - really impressed!
Just received the rugged case from giztop, really impressed with, its truly rugged and even with a tempered glass screen protector it has a raised lip to protect the screen, has a raised lip for the back cameras, buttons are a joy to press and in my opinion it looks good. has a very good grip to it. only slight negative is it is heavy, phone becomes 268g with it.
So far best 2 cases are this one and the Alcantara Case which is premium to the touch but much less protective. with the alcantara case, phone becomes 241g., phone naked with just screen protector is 213g
