I use titanium backup pro for backing up saved games data
Just backup the game itself?
Use titanium backup and back up app + data. Then when you come to restore it just restore app + data and the save should be there.
where i can find titanium backup?
Market....
When I back up the app it automatically backs up its data too?

yes, but when you restore you have to restore 'app + data' but be careful restoring data between android versions (i.e. 1.6 to 2.1) as sometimes it will cause conflicts.

If I (or anyone for that matter!) help you, dont be afraid to press THANKS!
and if the restore messes up between varied ROMs, just try restore 'app only' then once it's restored, restore 'data only'

Dear folks,
I use Titanium Backup but reinstall is a long process and I must accept terms and press "Install" button all the time TB wants to reinstall an other application.
I need a backup solution wich is fully automate and the only thing I have to do just collect the apps and choose the drive (internal or sd) and then waiting without any other interveintion.
What kind of backup do you use, guys?
Anyway, I'm using GingerFroyo 012. But I want to do full wipe next time without too much time wasting. I have approximately 100+ apps on my phone. You know... it has a little inconvenience about reinstall all of them.
Thx.
I have the perfect app for you- it´s called "backup everything", and it really backups everything you can backup without su-right-requirement.
it backs up:
Apn
Apps
SMS
Call log
system setting
BookMarks
alarms
to your sdcard.
Try it out!
or u can use app "my backup pro"
it like backup everything
you can download it on market
try all you have 2 choice
My Backup Pro is better!
Thx. This app capable to restore backups (*.apk-s) without intervention.

google for TB Pro [the newer the better]
It's totally another life! It's what you want...
... and be very careful: it can uninstall even the system apps!
Titanium Rules! In settings change the processing mode to automatic or anything except interactive and then you won't have to keep pressing install. It's do everything by itself.

hello there guys..,
here i am a newbie asking question that probably has been asked so many times..,
so let get to the point then..,
i want to know is there a way to move app to sdcard without installing custom rom??(maybe by just rooting)
is there a way to save user data?? most preferbly saving the game data??
cause most of the time if i have to install custom rom/ got back to stock rom / or install other custom rom i have to clean all the data (dalvick chace and etc) including the user data
*if this question has been asked/discused please give me the link,
1. Check out move2sd enabler or link2sd.
2. Titanium backup.
All of these require root.

hi there mihir287 thanks for replying..,
okay will do that..,
but other how does you do the back up n restore it with titanium backup??
cause last time i tr it just back up the app..,
there are three tabs on the top: overview, backup/restore, and schedules. go under backup/restore to restore (this restores apps one at a time). to restore pretty much all of your backed up apps, hit the menu button and then select batch. scroll down to restore and run the operation of your choice

There is one more trick which utilize the custom recovery function.
Doing nandroid backup but instead of selecting all, we select only data to back up.
So after flashing new ROM, nand restore should only covered data not system applications etc.
I believe I read this somewhere in the forum but I forgot where, so, credit goes to him/her

I tried restoring a backup of a stock ROM, but upon start up, it comes up with the tutorial setup to find it hasn't restored any of my applications, only my system settings. Can someone explain what the hell is happening?

By restoring a backup in CWM. It just doesn't seem to restore any applications.
Can't say what your problem is there, but it might be worth investing in titanium backup pro (batch restore saves a lot of time and effort). Hope you get your apps back.

I use Titanium Backup already It's just easier using a nandroid back up for me. Didn't back up in Titanium Backup unfortunately but I managed to retrieve me apps by using App Extractor to extract the applications and contacts from the nandroid backup

How did u make backup of the stock ROM?
Using My backup pro to back up apps. It asks if I want to back up apks , data , or apks + data.
Is the apks+data option considered system data or user data? I know its not a good idea to use backups with system data on new Roms.
Does this option fall under that or is it OK to backup on any rom?
I have also used Titanium Backup and I know u have to be careful what kind u do when using it.

Apps and data is safe. Thats stuff like your login for xda, game levels, etc.
Just look through the list and verify they are only apps you installed and nothing system.
Thank you!
Do you use Mybackup? Would it save any system apps? It doesnt give you any options there... just asks if you want to backup apps...then asks if apk, data or apk+data...
Sounds good. I'm a titanium backup user and you get everything under the sun on the backup list.
So i backed up my phone via CWM before custom ROM installation. After installation of the new ROM, is there any way to just restore the app+data from the previous backup ??

As far as I know, cwm backs up both user apps and system apps with their data so if u restore it from there, the old sytem apps and data might conflict with the new one...so I would advise against it.
Use cwm and completely restore ur old Rom, make a backup usng tb and then flash ur new Rom... Safest way!

I think that will make so much easier for me the fact of testing more ROMs on my cellphone, thanks you
You can simply backup your apps and data via TB and
After installing a new ROM just restore APP+DATA via TB... best way to sort and backup and restore apps individually

You could also use yaffey to extract anything from a CWM backup:

On some clockworkmod versions you can do an advanced restore and just choose data. Never tried it but maybe give it a shot

Not recommendable....if your phone is on different ROM before backup, restoring the backup data into different ROM will make your phone bootloop (really bad cases) or lost statusbar/setting and etc (light cases)....
since he already make a backup then TB is the best choices...

You Think????
FYI : Backup from CWM contains the whole pack of the previous ROM....when you choose to restore data only, it restore all data including User Apps Data and System Apps Data....when System Apps Data is restore into a different ROM, you bet it going to make your phone into bootloop....
you are welcome to try it if you don't believe me....

I was talking about the selective backup of nandroid backup from TB. Ofc in a CWM data restore all apps(system+user) get restored. Im well aware of that and I wont be trying that
Anyways i think this tool is the best option right now. So thanks iOneX for the info :good:
A bit late I guess..
Well, I come here six months later, but Google brought me here...
I guess you're already using Online Nandroid Backup combined with Nandroid Manager. Just two days ago I restored user apps+data with Nandroid Manager from a backup created through Online Nandroid Backup. Both apps from H3r3t1c are really useful, specially working together.
Aside of this advice (surely already not needed) I was looking after a script to restore those user apps+data from a backup. I wanna include that script in my list of zips-to-flash in ZipInstaller
I'd appreciate any help. Cheers.
