I was running:
Bamf remix 1.6.3
black battery mod
aosp contact/dailer transparent mod
Everything worked fine!
I updated to:
bamf remix 1.7
reflashed black battery mod
reflashed aosp contact/dailer transparent mod
com.google.process.gapps FC every time I try to (auto or manual) sync contacts.
I've reflashed 1.6.3, 1.7, no mods, one mod, dalvik wipe, data wipe, deleted cache, cleared data, htc account, no htc account...
tried it all. STILL no contact sync w/ same FC.
fix it and I buy you coffee/beer via paypal
EDIT:
sorry for thread placement. move it if you wish.
I love this development thread...

did you try re-downloading the ROM? There's always the chance that you got a bad download
no, but i did try restoring back to the good* 1.6.3
the first problem was a popping sound during calls, but a reflash of anything not 1.7 fixed that. the second problem was audio would not record just after i did the first 1.7 flash
the final problem was (everything else works perfect) that contacts will not sync
EDIT:
*good as in sync worked. all the other problems popped up out of nowhere on 1.6.3, so i updated to 1.7 to see if it was a rom issue. 1.7 wouldn't sync contacts, 1.6.3 gives me no recording and popping in my ear on calls

Are you flashing your ROM's from ROM manager or from recovery? ROM manager has been on the fritz lately, so I would definitely recommend doing everything from recovery.
- Download 1.7 from xda, move .zip to sdcard, and check md5 sum.
- Reboot to recovery, clear cache, factory reset, and then install .zip from sdcard.
If that doesn't clear things up, I don't know what to tell ya.

Yesterday I decided to install the UKB 2.1 patch but didn't like the fact that the accurate battery percentage was super imposed on the battery, which I had flashed a patch to remove while on 2.0. I then tried to reinstall that patch which was intended for 2.0 and began having force close vibrates on startup to the point that it wouldn't completely boot up.
I then booted to recovery, wiped data, cache and dalvik, then did a Nand restore of the backup I had done prior to installing 2.1. Everything seemed fine until I tried to access TSM Parts from the settings menu. It force closes every time without opening.
Now I'm at a loss, should I wipe and Odin back to scratch and redo everything or is there a simpler fix?
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA App
Okay, I figured the reason I was getting force closes was because between 2.0 and 2.1 there was a change in the TSM Parts. So simply reflashing the 2.1 .zip fixed the problem. Now if I could only remove the numeric percentage from the battery icon in the Notification Bar.
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA App
there should be a flashable .zip patch for non-accurate battery in the 'downloads' post (4th one down I believe) of the ComRom thread
edit: my bad just saw it only works with 2.0 version.. hmm I know its a lot to look through but maybe if you skimmed through the pages of the ComRom thread maybe nitsuj or someone uploaded a 2.1 patch later

Anyone using Fastreboot market.android.com/details?id=com.greatbytes.fastreboot from the market?
Some how i can't get this to work on the new ViperRom v1.3. it work with v1.2 and v1.2.1 but now it doesn't work with v1.3
When I flash the Rom
*I wipe cache and wipe the dalvik cache on first flash.
*I wipe everything on the 2nd and 3rd try just to make sure I get a clean Flash and it still don't work.
* yes I re-download the rom 3 times just to make sure I didn't get a bad download.
*I also try to wipe the cache and dalvik before install the app and after install the app just to make sure but it still don't work.
Any help
does it kill evertything BUT sense? I noticed that on todays build of rewind. My guess is the devs figured out how to "lock home in memory" and it's fine. Thoughts?

Which version of ICS gapps to use? v8 or v11?
Heard people had issues with v11?
I was going to install the buttah ICS ROM but wanted to make sure I get the right one installed...
On another note... Any update on Flash / Video playback?
The gapps versions after about 7 don't have any major fixes really. And v11 only really adds the new Google TOS (Terms of Agreement). There's no harm in trying v11 with a full wipe plus you still might have to flash the gapps fix file as well. If it doesn't work then go with v8. And reading the forum helps too.
And about your flash issue, that is not fully functional yet. So no Netflix or YouTube HD.
Samsung Captivate CM9 - Glitch Kernel | HP TouchPad CM9 - Bricked Kernel
Until the devs get the hardware decoding issue fixed for video youtube, etc will not work with HD content. If you really want to have that you should stick to CM7 or XRON 2.9.1 for now.
I am using v11 with CM9 and not going back to CM7
Sent from my cm_tenderloin using Tapatalk
I used an older gapps version: gapps20111230
no need for the fix and everything works.
installed that with cm9 0.5.

Did you wipe cache and dalvik cache before the gapps v11 flash plus gapps fix flash?
Samsung Captivate CM9 - Glitch Kernel | HP TouchPad CM9 - Bricked Kernel
yup, also cleared dalvik cache and reinstalled and still nothing, in accounts and sync instead of saying sync calendar, it says sync om.android.calendar and when I tick it it gives an error saying sync is down, try later, but the rest sync, like G+, Gmail, etc...

That's strange, I was running a GAPPS IML74K-010112 and couldn't get my outlook exchange calendar to sync. I flashed v11 over it, wiped the calendar/calendar storages, applied GAPPS fixer, and the calendar started working.
Did you delete the email account first, wipe calendar data, then try it again?

Tips:
*Screenshot: hold volume down + menu
*status bar settings: click the three dots in the notificaton pull down ( thanks luckypunk)
*some apps we list will not just install or flash use a root file explorer like root explorer copy the app into system/app give it same permissions as the other apps in system/app then reboot you will get a message about android upgrading and you will have the new app you are wanting to install
*if you are replacing a system/app with one of these rename the original .bak so if something is wrong you can just delete the new apk and delete the .bak extension reboot and all is well

Battery:some are complaining of battery life...so i thought id add a section to maybe help out with it. not promising that any of these will miraculously make you get any amount of extra life just commonly used tips
turn off auto-brightness and lower it
turn off wifi, gps, bluetooth, and sync when not using it
turn off auto-rotate when not using it
make sure you exit out of programs when available so they dont run in the background
try using themes with darker colors some say the darker the better pulls less battery (opinion not fact so dont flame me here....)
go into apps and set the sync time on your accounts to sync less frequently
set screen off time to be lower
turn off haptic feedback, sound on touch, sound on lockscreen
try flashing a cm9 kernel and underclocking it and/or undervolting it
turn off some or all animations
try calibrating the battery
do research on software you install and use. delete apps you don't use, expecially antiviruses or other stuff that launches all the time
if all else fails set the phone down and walk away slowly.........

If usb gets up and running it might become my daily driver.
My suggestions. For usb, include usb.apk from some older versions of cm9. It's needed for cm9 too. Don't know why it's not included. And for bluetooth, try additional kernel from oleg and me.
What about gapps? Or we can use Jocker's?

I haven't tried this for the Photon yet, but disabling boot animation on the Touchpad simply gets rid of the unicorn animation and replaces it with a more generic boot animation.
Better if you don't want your homophobe buddies to see =P.
Just download the droid razr boot animation zip and replace in /system/media. Or use one of my cm9 ones .

I found a few things that aren't working right. the Performance option FC's Rom Control every time when you try to open it, not sure what all options are in there.
The boot tweaks does open and items are selectable however after you leave that screen the settings revert, there is no way to save settings.
And finally I was not able to find where I could change my default storage settings between internal sd and external sd.

performance is a known bug check op.. but what it does can be accomplished with most over clocking apps from the market..
the boot tweaks I will look into I'm going to try to see for myself if it works... if not I think I know already what to do.....
the storage is cm9 this is aokp so the options wont be exactly the same... however it can be edited.... but I have limited time to do these things so the storage pretty much will be set to default until I can get it done..... sorry

Considering you were unable to find it and it's the settings menu in CM, I think the question has been answered. It not working would imply you found a setting, tested it and it didn't function.
