Netflix - Works on Gingerbread! - Atrix 4G Themes and Apps

Woohoo! Motorola was able to fix whatever problems were limiting Netflix playback in the Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread update.
Check out the video and article here:

Oh come on you are just torturing us now. At least we still have root

Very cool bro thanks for all the updates

Now if we could just get our hands on that leak build.....

Thats awesome cant wait for gingerbread!

This is torture, you cant tell us this without releasing files, its just evil.

its pretty nice, but landscape HDMI mirroring is what I would use netflix the most, when on the go

[Q] - New Skype out, can be ported for us?

Hey all,
Looks like a new version of Skype is out on the market but only for select phones...
http://www.droid-life.com/2011/06/30/skype-with-video-finally-released-on-android/
The phones supported seem to be HTC Desire S, Xperia Pro, Xperia Neo, and Nexus S.
Wondering if this can be ported to work for us some how on our GB builds. Just a question
Wrong section.
To answer your question, the Thunderbolt GB OTA is supposed to be rolling out starting today and will include working skype and talk video chat. It would be easier just to utilize this rather than trying to make a port work on our hardware.

Agreed wrong section but I highly doubt we will see an OTA today or even in the next few days.

That's why I said supposed. I agree with you the OTA's never come when expected, however, this will be when we really will be receiving truly functional video chat and not before. Like skype was on froyo type of quality.
The new Skype works just fine on the Thunderbolt!
You simply have to have Gingerbread installed to use it.
When they said "select phones" they were referring to phones running Gingerbread.
Simply install Gingerbread and Skype and enjoy!

Runnin' bamf 3.0 and I literally went to the Market searched Skype and installed it.
No problems at all.
I'm running Gingeritis and had to use to the patched version for it to work. I have not yet tested phone to phone but phone to PC works.

Google Chrome for Android.

According to engadget, Google has just released chrome for select ics devices. I expect, nay DEMAND a port to my DX2 in 3..2..1..

Looks pretty slick.... ics only.... I assume they will make a version for gb phones.
Sucks it's ICS only. Any ideas on why it took them so long to get the ball going for this on Android? I assume ICS got the first release because of hardware acceleration, but you'd think they'd have a previously working version looooong ago.
Does anyone have the APK? We can try and install it anyways...

All the more reason for us X2 users to ***** at Moto/VRZ to update our phones!!! Google needs to take a stand with the manufacturers and carriers over this.

It does not and will not work without some serious hacking from what I've been told.
It does not work.
Heh, it started for me on my cm9 galaxy tab but then forced closed when i tried to search.
Since engadget said SELECT ics devices it wouldn't surprise me if it only works on.. Galaxy nexus for now..
*edit* my mistake, they do NOT specify select ics devices just 4.0 in general.

That's because ICS was a major upgrade from Gingerbread, especially at the kernel level. It was more of a rewrite than an upgrade.
Hence, this is looking for ICS libraries. It's possibly also looking for an ICS kernel which we don't have AND won't have unless Verizon decides to release ICS for the X2.
We are at the mercy of Verizon on this one.
Remember, CM9 will still have the GB kernel, not an ICS one since we cannot replace the kernel due to the locked bootloader. Again, at the mercy of Verizon AND Motorola on the locked bootloader.
I've been waiting for Chrome on Android for the entire time I've had an Android (about a year and a half). I just came across an article about on another website, read the whole thing with excitement, and then shot a baby when I read it was only for ICS. WTF?! That's very disappointing to me. Any thoughts as to why they did that? Maybe because it's beta and wanted limited exposure at first?
If they just now started working on getting chrome out then it really doesn't make sense to release it on gingerbread and ics. I would expect that it would be released for their newer os rather than the one that is going to be phased out. Maybe once they get all the bugs worked out they will release a version usable on gingerbread, so phones that won't be updated, or even new phones that aren't as powerful as the phones sporting ics, will be able to use it.

I've been able to use it on my ICS Xoom, and let me say, it is amazing. Comparable to the PC version in terms of performance. I think we should be able to use it with CM9, whenever that is released.
Adobe isn't supporting flash anymore for mobile devices so that makes sense

Because we are stuck on the gingerbread kernel, CM9 may not work unless Motorola releases ICS for DX2. As stated earlier, apk needs libraries from the ICS kernel. The only other option is to hack the actual apk.

Tv-out

Hi guys
I bought a tv out cable over ebay recently tho it hasnt arrived yet.. i just wanna know if anyone has used a rom that they can confirm works with tv out. Cm7 would be preferred. Im aware there is a kang of cm7.2 with tv out working but the link and thread are dead so if anyone can post it, ill love you forever.
On a side note, does anyone know for a fact that my wiimote will not work with n64 on cm7 or the vibrant?
Thanks in advance guys

As long as you are using a non-Samsung ROM/kernel, the wiimote should pair just fine. You will have to download an IME app for it from the market though. I can't remember what the app was that I used. Search for wiimote and that should get you what you need.
I had it running back in the days when GB roms on the vibrant were being released here. Made playing Mario 64 a lot easier than with the on screen virtual buttons

Last I checked it lacks Hardware acceleration though so beware. If you are to try to play any video that is 480p or higher it probably won't play.
For example if you try to show the videos you just took with your phone in the big screen (like I had tried) it won't work, so you can say it's a bit crippled version of TV-out. If you want true TV-out you have to try Froyo derived roms ... sadly.

[Q] hulu plus on ICS

Has anyone been able to get hulu plus working on any ICS ROM and if so what ones? I'm not sure if its these leaked ICS ROMs or an app issue.
TIA
Sent from my PG86100 using Tapatalk 2
I don't think its Ics I think its the fact that the app itself doesn't support many devices at all. Using the modified Hulu ICS app floating around on
XDA I had it working on cm9 and derpics. Worked for me at least. If I find the thread I got it from ill post it unless someone beats me to it.

[Q] I'm Confused.

I've been hearing a lot about my aging YP-G70 and its ICS camera fix. I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to be able to play Ingress (JUST GOT MY ACCESS CODE!) but I don't want to revert to Gingerbread again. I'm still confused about the progress being made here though. JackPot apparently fixed front cam, but was this released? Also, is the choppy back cam fix released too? I just can't keep up with this anymore... THX in advance!

Never knew about the front camera fix. Its probably only on his own ROM as he has also got HW working on his ROM but not released it. Don't think there's a fix for the choppy back camera thing. The devs may have been secretly chatting via PM to make the back work for ICS but who knows? I've also wanted Ingress, looks great.
IDK but I saw a legit looking video with an ICS GP 5.0 INTL with a working front cam. It also had a back cm fix, but it was super choppy and didn't really work. I'll see if I can get u a Link
