SkinGuardz /Skinit for MT3gS - myTouch 3G Slide Accessories

In my experience they are great! Slight extra grip, very scratch resistant. and no bulk.
I highly suggest this if you want the look of a neat case and scratch guard, but it DOES NOT protect if you drop your phone.
I cleaned my phone well with Rubbing alcohol & a cotton pad to get any oils, dirt, or fingerprints off.
The material they use is a high quality slightly textured vinyl, it is very very sticky so try to line it up the best you can before pressing it down, start at one end and be sure to keep all air bubbles out.
the downside is when i was peeling the back off to realign. It pulled some of the paint off the backing of my phone. it was already worn out, i doubt it would happen if you had a clean scratch/chip free phone.
They also come with a neat matching background that lines up pretty well with the front cover, I only have it on the lockscreen due to the homescreen having the "panoramic/wide view"
The way its cut out, you have to line it up just right or the corners will have bumps, and you could easily cover a front button/power button/headphone jack.
Pics are of my phone with my Skinguardz with black/pink Skulls & Diamonds print.

DIY Soft Touch Rear Cover

Refer to the following thread where a person used a spray on material to create a soft touch battery door for a Nexus S. I wonder if this could be used on the rear cover for protection?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=881062
Cool idea. Most hardware stores I've been to have it, but its not always in spray form. I wouldn't mess with the dip stuff (often used for keys, tools, etc.) I might have to pick some up myself. Comes in some different colors as well sometimes.
I've had a key on my keychain that has been dipped and after 3yrs its almost ready to come off completely. Of course, I only used it to tell them apart.
I did it. Edit: Finally got the photos up.
I took the four screws off and removed the back panel. Used four small pieces of painters tape to cover up the screw holes, but actually let the rubber go underneath so the sides of the corners were covered and continuous as much as possible.
I put about five or six coatings on. Only bad part is that you need to wait 30+ minutes between coatings. I let it off gas a little before putting it all back together. It does stink a little, not headache inducing though, at first. After about 12hrs it just smells like rubber and isn't noticeable.
$7.50 or so at Lowe's for a can. I did this and a phone and there is still some left in it I believe.
Like the Nexus post says, it works best if there are few noncontinuous parts of the rubber to get snagged on things. This was part of the reason I removed the case.
No responsibility for messing yours up, etc. etc.

This looks sweet vsc. I like my carbon fiber rear cover, but a soft rubberized grip would definitely be better.
Just added some photos up above. I forgot to add that the back case goes on just as easy as it came off. Buttons still work, and the little door still opens correctly. It *almost* looks like it could have come this way. Its actually thin enough you can still see a slight bump from where the sticker for the serial number is (not in the pictures though, sorry). I think it looks a bit better now than having all those extra words on the back of the case. My case had already started to get rather scratched up even when I was careful.
I'll try to update on durability if it starts to look bad.
One other thing. My corners don't look the greatest because the first time I did it I let it dry with the corner tape on and then had to exacto knife the plastic and tape off once it had dried. I think it would do better if you made nice rounded tape areas, or just bought some rounded stickers or something. But definitely put them on lightly and take them off between each coat so the corners dry without the tape/stickers.

[Tutorial] How to Remove the Shatter Proof Film

So after much thought i considered the pros and the cons of removing the film and decided to remove it as the oleophobic had worn away in less than 2 months. This will give you the information you need to remove it if you wish and how to do it properly without damage to your device or at least help you to not damage it.
1st. The tools you will need are as follows
1. razor blade thinner and or flat at one end
2. nail polish remover ( to remove the glue after)
3. cloth of some kind microfiber preferred 2 works best
4. "Recommended if no screen protector replacement"
Rain-x or some kind of wax or an oleophobic coating apply several coats
5. band aids or tape for your fingers as they will be put through alot of pushing and will be raw afterward
so know that this won't come in 1 sheet it will be coming off in chips and if your lucky it will come in larger chips and small sheets. when you start pick a corner that you can get at easlily. once you get a little up know that your going for a large enough area that you can get the entire blade under so you can slide it forward under the sheet as this will provide the least amount of damage if any the screen won't scratch this way but if you take the blade sliding up or down it will leave scratches so alway push the blade forward and leave it at a tilt just enough to get the sheet there is a layer of glue just as thick under. if you can see the glue when it comes up your doing well.
==warning== while you scrap this blade across your device be cautious not to get the sides of it as they are just high enough they will get scraped and nicked
after you have removed all the film you will need to use the nail polish remover to get the glue off it will come off slowly and there will be alot of small balls as it is moved off some will desolve the rest will come off in small balls. dont be afraid to use plenty it will make it will make it easier.
after all this wash with water only scrub clean and dry then apply a coating or screen protector whichever you wish .
==Important== know if you use wax some will get into the sides if your not careful with enough water and and cloth you can get access out. best to use waxes that are clear or liquid ones work well.
if you have any questions or if i have left anything out pls ask
Once you've peeled up 1 corner, you can use a credit card instead of a blade to slide it forward. It's safer that way.
If you're a single man and don't have nail polish remover, you can use concentrated alcohol instead. Cloth, Q-tips and rubbing alcohol worked really well for me.

How is the Dura-Skin holding up on your V10?

Just wondering how durable the Dura-Skin is on the front top & bottom of the phone?
How's it holding up?
Any wear marks, scratches ETC?
I've only had mine for maybe 2 weeks but it's still perfect. I even accidentally like spiked it onto the bathroom floor like a football and it's still perfect everywhere.
I started with a skinomi skin... it looks great.. and I didn't use the provided screen protector or back protector. but all other surfaces were covered. I did have a problem with the skin sticking to the corners of the rails so I trimmed them before they peeled off too much then put the thin TPU case on...
I like the case. doesn't add any bulk and adds a bit of grip.
Still perfect but ihave a little wear n tear on the side rails im gonna change them for black rubber ones when they get released ` will make the phone more durable and lighter
The Duraskin on the top and bottom of the phone is perfect. However, the coating on my back cover started peeling on the bottom edge near the USB port within a few days. It's not bad, but its there.
Hard to capture in a picture.

How long to find all the protective plastic?

I've had my new S21 for a few hours now, and I keep finding more and more strips of the protective plastic that needs to be peeled off . Does anyone make a special light which make this plastic fluoresce? Could be a great new product!
LOL, I agree.
If I recall correctly, think I found the two big obvious sheets covering the back plastic and the screen glass. Another smaller sheet covering the camera bump and lenses. Then two (three?) very skinny separate strips wrap the circumference of the phone (the metal frame). One starts just to the right of the bottom speaker grill and runs up to the power/volume buttons. Another strip from but button around the top of the phone. And a third strip from the left of the SIM card and up the left-hand side frame. The strips along the circumference are hard to see or feel, and you need to find the start/end of the strip in order to begin peeling it off. I used my fingernail to find each end-point, then picked at the end until it came free enough so I could grab and pull up the entire strip.
I hope I found them all as I've put the phone into a Samsung leather case, which fits so snugly I can barely get it back out.
Leave it be and case it.
Without a case it only a matter of time until it self destructs.
As the protective film works its way loose remove so grit that gets trap under it doesn't mar the phone's finish. Otherwise it helps to protect from case marring.
Leave the display factory protector on as long as possible until it degrades.

How To Guide Tip for securing Carbon Fiber covers

The front cover of a carbon fiber case is usually a bit loose for folding phones, as there is very little for the front cover to hold/clip on to. The carbon fiber back and front covers come with an adhesive strip, which works fine for the back cover, but is not usually strong enough for the front cover, which sometimes moves a bit, especially when opening the folding phone. However, the below double sided tape works really well (apply on all 4 inside edges of the front cover), though it is fairly fiddly to apply. Once applied though, it seems rock solid. Also, while it is strong, it apparently comes off without mess and without damage to the phone, and you get loads on a roll if you screw up or need to apply it again.
