This works for all devices regardless of any home customizations done by the handset maker. Hit the break to follow along.
The first step is setting up the SDK on your computer. We covered that for Windows users in-depth here, so we will touch briefly for you folks running a Mac or Linux.
Make sure you download the correct sdk for your platform.
Make sure you're up to date with the Java Run Time Envrionment from Sun.
Mac users: Update this from the Apple menu, Ubuntu users sudo apt-get install sun-java6-jre.
After you have the SDK all set up, the hard part's over. Just follow along and you'll be taking screenshots in no time.
1. Plug your phone into your computer and start up the ddms tool. On a Windows machine, you open your SDK\tools folder and double click the icon (see the picture below). On Linux or a Mac, open your terminal in the sdk/tools and enter ./ddms

}
The Android sdk\tools folder
2. Make sure you select your device from the list in the right pane of the ddms application, then select device -> screen capture from the menu bar. See the picture below.
The ddms utility window
3. Grab your phone, set up the image you want to grab, and hit the refresh button (see the image below). When you're satisfied with the results, click save and tell the ddms app where to save it.
The screen capture interface
And that's it! All that's left is to hit the forums and share your screenshots with the world.

[THEME] Honeycomb for any ROM

Unfortunately guys this isn't a flashable theme.
I have been messing around with the Honeycomb look for the last week.
I've had some requests to share how I achieved the look so here goes.
Some of these are going to be paid apps, but lets support our devs!
First up screenies and there's a bunch
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
First up you're going to need Launcerpro plus. Once you have paid for it go to Signals23's thread and download his Honeycomb theme here. That will get you the messaging, agenda, bookmarks, Friends, etc...widgets. You will want to set up 5 columns on your homescreens in the LPP settings. These widgets will need to be resized just longpress and resize to fit your look.
Next for the honeycomb clock at the bottom of my homescreen you will need one more clock widget from here.
The weather widget is just Beautiul Widgets 1x1 with the "None" weather skin.
Beautiful widgets can be downloaded from the market here for $1.96.
The battery widget is BattStatt. You can download the free version here. I recommend upgrading to the Pro version for more customization.
The analog clock is Honeycomb clock FREE which can be downloaded from the market here.
Most of my icons are from the Ares HD icon pack by Radius which can be found here.
A few of the icons are from iconspedia, so if you don't see them in Ares HD check there.
The APPS+ icon is a shortcut that I set up for my settings. The icon is an icon from Manup's Minimal Text Clean icon pack that I played with in GIMP. Here it is, if you can't see it it's there just save and move to your SD card.
Right click above this and save the image.
I am using Audio Manager Pro with the Minimal skin from Johnny Bueno found here on the market.
For my music widget I am using Music Mod which can be downloaded from the market here.
For the dock and dock icons I am using this pack created for the Evo by bizdady.
For the power controls on my notification pull shade I am using Power Control Plus which can be purchased from the market here for $2.02.
The search widget and genie widget are included in Newkidd's AwesomeROM. Special thanks go out to him and all the above mentioned devs. Man I love Android.
If you find anything else to contribute to the look or just want to share please add to the thread.
If I locate anything else or incorporate any suggestions I'll add to this post.

nice! are you going to make a rom based off of this current UI setup? If not, is the theme just applied to stock? or can it be run on roms without bootloop issues?
Might be a silly question, but I cant seem to get my music mod to look like yours. How did you do that?

This look can mostly be achieved with the stock ROM. There's no flashable theme, just a lot of random pieces I've put together in this thread.

So I was motivated by a tweet from Anderweb (ADW developer). I watched this video and instantly set my phone up this way.
Anyone willing to make some cool wallpapers specific to our phones (ie, the name of ROMs or "Vibrant").
I posted a more generic thread here, but was hoping to focus more on ones for our phones here. In that thread though, I did link to everyone/give proper credit and give download links for the wallpaper and a transparent icon!

I've never had any problems with LP or ADW. Any .png that isn't too big should work. Try this one if you want. It has always worked for me.

Mustangboy88 posted some new wallpapers (same layout). I really hope some new wallpapers are added soon...
Any of the vibrant themers willing to take a run at this? Specifically for a trigger background, haha.
Thanks for sharing this it looks neat. Was gonna take a stab at a W7 type LP.setup, but this looks very cool.
Don't blame me, blame my keyboard's autocorrection algorithm.
There are some new wallpapers being added in the other thread... I think I am going to take a stab at a Trigger one a little later.
Looks like I just found my next project. Been thinking about jumping into theming, but don't have the patience/time. This will be perfect.
There are some great examples of this buried on the main "post you homescreen" thread.

I have been using this concept on my phone for awhile, but I've never been a big fan of either LP or ADW (personally, I prefer Zeam). For my setup, I use Desktop VisualizeR for the transparent icons. If you are still having problems with FCs, give it a shot.
^ Nice, got any wallpapers to share?

I've no talent with making wp, so I use various wp that I found on here. I tend to use minimalistic theming so I use the transparent Icons as a method of keeping my home screen clean while keeping it functional. What was shown in OP is far more sophisticated than anything I came up with on my own.

yesterday was my first day, so I certainly am no expert... but this is what I was doing to place icons and setting a shadow.....
open a new project, 800x960 I think?
ALT + Backspace makes it all Black
new layer, File > Place, choose icon, resize it, move it to where I want it and place it.
right click on the icon layer, duplicate, CTRL+T, right click, flip vertical.
Move it below the icon so it looks like a shadow and place it.
grab the eraser, change opacity to 30-40% and run over the bottom icon so it looks faded.
Once you do that, it looks like a shadow.... that is how I was doing it. I would love to learn how to just make a black shadow beneath the icon, because my next one is going to be glass shelves on a textured black background... with smaller/cleaner icons.
If I can get it back up and running, I've got some professional level 3D title/logo modeling and animation software (I used to work for the company), which would allow me to composite 3D icons drop them over whatever background I wanted. I'd be happy to share. I'll see what I can do about getting the software installed on my new computer this weekend.
All I'd need is .ai files of the icons with proper vector paths. I no longer have Illustrator.

Sense 3.0/Widgets thread!

I thought it would be fun to share our Sense 3.0 widget preference/use, and since Sense 3.0 doesn't have the function of deleting cards from the carousel (unlike Sense 3.5), I want some productive/fun/cool widgets to fill up my empty cards.
tl;dr post images of your carousel in such form to share widgets

My homepage (main screen, whatever) is kept simple, 2x1 digital clock with the 4x1 calendar upcoming event at the bottom. To the right I have the HTC Sense Friend stream widget to easily post to Facebook or Twitter (or both). On the left I have a bunch of useful links, and the Spotify widget. The stock HTC music player widget is pretty clear in the bottom left, just as the bottom right's weather widget.
Suggestions of things like better widgets apps, etc. are welcome .

[Q] Help, How to Remove/Hide Operator Logo on the Lockscreen HTC evo 3D?

Hello, can somebody please help me on the information on how to Remove/Rename/Hide the Sprints Logo on the Lockscreen of the HTC Evo 3D..
And also the Clock and date..
Phone info:
HTC EVO 3D
HBoot 1.5
Rooted HTC Method
Running Custom ROM and RCmix Kernel..
THANK YOU..
What rom you on? Most roms have a custom lockscreen base mod made by the legendary JsChiSurf, which allows for the customization of the carrier on the lock. If you have a root file explorer, check in /system /customize / for a file named lock_carrier.txt. If it exists open the file with a text editor and put whatever you want in there, save and done. If you DONT have the file. Feel free to grab any d3rp theme (link in my sig) and extract the Idlescreen_Base.apk. It contains the mod. It will also remove the bubbles and text from the lockscreen too. Then follow the steps to change like I described. I do have JsChiSurf other lockscreen mods, all can do the carrier mod. But I have one with bubble and text. One with bubble no text. One no bubble with text. Lemme know which one you want in a pm if you don't like the one in our themes. Longwinded ftw.

not sure if this is what you mean but it should work. download an app from the market you DON'T want. go into lockscreen settings and set that app to all 4 shorcuts. turn off screen turn on screen - see 4 of the app. now delete the app. there should no longer be app shortcuts on the lock.

[APP] Honey Hide Widget V3.0!(hides system bar)

Hey guys I forgot who had requested a widget to show/hide the system bar In Honey Comb, but here it is! I had a couple people test it before I released it to the market. This is to be used by people who use the Hardware Buttons in HoneyComb. Enjoy
March 18, 2012
Version 3.0 has been released! It includes a smaller widget (1×1) that was requested by users as well as the ability to restore the status bar when the screen turns off. The latter feature allows the widget to be used by more devices that do not have hardware keys.
Along with version 3.0 I have also released a donate version. This version is exactly the same as the free version but costs one dollar for those who feel generous!
You can download it on the android market place by clicking Here for free and Here for donate
Feb 13, 2012
Version 2.0 brings along a new layout as well as more reliable code!

And just incase someone trys this without hardware buttons and opens an app while the bar is hidden the command you can run to get your bar back is:
Code:
am startservice -n com.android.systemui/.SystemUIService
If you feel like donating all money will be put towards my school loans

thanks for this...i haven't installed it because after my initial grumbling i actually prefer the HW buttons off, but it's good to have options
also, no one else replied...SO THANKS

Edit: can the icon be themed?
This is a lot better than honeybar which gets in the way. Thanks!
Unfortunately, htc scribe apps still don't like the removed bar. Good for watching video and reading pdfs though.
EDIT: I have a small request. Can you please make the buttons or hitboxes a little bigger? Sometimes it takes a frustratingly large amount of touches to register a show or hide.
Thank you. Great app.

Actually, in that line, I would simply suggest a one-cell toggle (on or off). It was a somewhat curious decision to make two buttons instead of an on/off toggle.

Just updated the widget might take a while to reflect on the marketplace but I changed the layout as suggested, it now has a single button. I also optimized the code and changed how things are done internally to ensure that the bar is hidden/shown. Hope you guys enjoy
P.S If you guys want a new icon Post a 512x512 icon im really bad at being creative lol. Ill let you guys choose the best icon and ill change it up
just indispensable.
Just found your update--love it!
I instaled this but v 1.0 - i loved functonality but not the look on it and hard to press a button. So i was very happy to see this. Went on market instaled v 2.0 but no widget apears . App is listed in instaled app. Any help? I did try to uninstal and reinstal; did reboots in between as well.

check in data/app for the apk and try installing it that should make it work not sure why it wouldn't install normally for you

I like the fact that the widget is a toggle, and maybe this is a silly question, but why do you make it take two icon widths (2x1) rather than just a normal 1x1 icon?
