About an year ago I used this code:
Code:
private void merge2WavFiles(String wavFile1, String wavFile2, String newWavFilePath) {
try {
File wave1 = new File(wavFile1);
if(!wave1.exists())
throw new Exception(wave1.getPath() + " - File Not Found");
AudioInputStream clip1 = AudioSystem.getAudioInputStream(wave1);
AudioInputStream clip2 = AudioSystem.getAudioInputStream(new File(wavFile2));
AudioInputStream emptyClip =
AudioSystem.getAudioInputStream(new File(emptyWavPath));
AudioInputStream appendedFiles =
new AudioInputStream(
new SequenceInputStream(clip1, emptyClip),
clip1.getFormat(),
clip1.getFrameLength() + 100
);
clip1 = appendedFiles;
appendedFiles =
new AudioInputStream(
new SequenceInputStream(clip1, clip2),
clip1.getFormat(),
clip1.getFrameLength() + clip2.getFrameLength()
);
AudioSystem.write(appendedFiles, AudioFileFormat.Type.WAVE, new File(newWavFilePath));
} catch (Exception e) {
e.printStackTrace();
}
}
But today when I try to use it I get a page saying "Source not found".
After a little search using Google I found out that Android doesn't support AudioInputStream Class anymore. What are the alternative for this Class?
Moreover , I think that it doesn't support the hole package of: javax.sound.sampled.
What are the alternatives?
Anyone?
I think it could be solved by the AudioRecord class?
Merging two or more .wav files in android might be helpful as well...
I tried this and it didn't work
Questions should be posted in Q&A forums, not Development forums.

Have you tried Faasoft Audio Joiner?
I used it to merge WAV, MP3, AAC, AC3, WMA, M4B, VOC, CAF, APE, AIFF, Apple Lossless ALAC, QCP, AMR, AWB, DTS, AU, RA, OGG, XWM, 3GA and more.
Happy with it.
Many of my friends use iDealshare VideoGo to merge audio and video files into one
It can merge audio files into one; merge audio and video files into one; merge video files into one.
It supports merging audio and video files whatever it is in MP3, WAV, AAC, AC3, FLAC, ALAC, WMA, OGG, M4A, MP4, AVI, WMV, MOV, DV, AIFF, OGV, FLV, WebM, MKV, MPG, etc.

Hi, I just was wondering if the galaxy sII could play .m4a (alac lossless) files or if there is any app that enables it. Thank you
I think .m4a support is built in android
See: http://developer.android.com/guide/appendix/media-formats.html

Mhm, he's right. No matter what, you should be able to play your .m4a on any Android phone.
I don't know, but I saw the audio specification at the samsung website and it isn't alac support
MP3, OGG, AAC, AAC+, eAAC+, AMR-NB
AMR-WB, WMA, WAV, MID, AC3, IMY, FLAC, XMF
Well ALAC uses an mp4 container to store its audio data and according to this, http://developer.android.com/guide/appendix/media-formats.html Android supports .m4a.
ok,in that table m4a container is supported but alac codec isn't
alac isn't the same codec as AAC

True. Also it was stupid of me thinking android would support a format of apple. (I bet they would get sued by apple for patent infringement)
Anyway while googling I found that there is an app playing ALAC files. It's called andLess. I don't know if it's in the android market but you can download in the internet like appbrain.com
thank you. that solves my problem because part of my music library is in m4a
Just a quick question, I have several movies I have downloaded that are in the format of .flv , is the Archos 101 able to view these out of the box or do I need to download a plug-in or can I convert the .flv files to a different format?
You need the plug in
From the Archos site:
With optional plug-in (downloadable on www.archos.com): • Cinema: MPEG-2 (up to DVD resolution MP/D1, 30 [email protected] Mbps) With the above codecs, the device can play video files with the following extensions: AVI, MP4, MKV MOV, WMV, MPG, PS, TS, VOB, FLV, RM, RMVB, ASF, 3GP

Try to play them first. I was able to watch all my FLVs without buying the plugin.

Do you have firmware 2.3.26? If yes you dont need the CP
And if not, try VitalPlayer Neon, that plays nearly everything.
I recently received an invite for playon later. It allows you to download tv shows and watch them later. I want to put these videos on my 10.1 but the files are a .plv which I had not heard of. Anyone know how to convert these or get them to play on my Tab?
I'm with you
Just signed up myself for playon Later. Since I went full time with Netflix I cannot get movies though Playon. I hear it has something to do the the app since other resources through playon work fine.
Anyway. the .plv opens in windows media player and I'm attempting to use one of my converter programs to convert the file. So far, the files cannot be open even after changing the extension to .wmv.
I know a professional PLV Converter and PLV Player. It can help convert PLV files to AVI, MP4, WMV, FLV, 3GP, MOV, FLV, VOB, MKV and other video formats. The nice PLV Converter can also convert PLV to MP3, WAV, WMV, FLAC, M4A, OGG, AU, AAC, AC3, AIFF and more audio formats. In addition, it can convert among more than 160 video and audio formats with HD even 4K video quality and fast speed. The PLV conversion software is also a nice video editor for you to merge, trim, crop PLV videos, rotate PLV files, add/remove watermark/subtitles, adjust audio channels, increase video and audio volumes and more.
Find it by google search "How to Convert PLV to AVI, MP4, MP3, 3GP, FLV, WMV for Playing with PLV Converter and FLV Player?".
.plv files are from a platform game Prince of Persia and are regarded as a great leap forward in the quality of animation. Sometimes PLV files can also standard for Digital Foto Maker File.
PLV files are not widely supported by modern devices. You need to convert PLV files to common formats with a professional PLV Converting Tool.
You may use Cicever PLV Converter. It can solve your PLV file trouble easily.
Does anyone know what codecs and audio bitrates are supported by this device?
I'm having a heck of a time getting some videos to have sound whatsoever. I continue to re-encode the audio but still haven't gotten sound.
I know that it supports lots of containers (AVI, MKV, MP4, etc.), but I cannot find specifics on what video codecs and audio codecs/bit-rates are supported for playback.
Any input is appreciated.

i was using stock player and bslite.
Just used those above. only get audio on dice.
Awesome that one works. I'm confused as to why there's a difference. all play video fine. only one does audio.

Each player also uses their own codec, that's the thing about Android.
You can also contact the player maker, and let them know of your problem and ask them for implmenting codec or other.
With Mx video player you can set it up to play audio via software while the video plays through hardware. You should rarely ever need to encode when using that player.
Do your videos have sound when played back on the PC?
I guess to MX video player it is very good.
