Quick Review...yes its copied from the other thread that I posted in. But I figure plagiarizing my own stuff is ok. Plus, there are pictures now!
Material: Definitely not real leather. Is PU Leather but doesn't feel "cheap" in the hand either! Inside of the case is a velvety "soft" material...I guess a cloth version of suede is the best way to describe it. (Definitely not Alcantara like the stuff I have in the bucket seats of my car.)
Workmanship: Can't complain here either surprisingly! I was expecting it to be well, just ok....but the stitching is straight and even, uniform distance from the edges (yeah I'm sure there are tenths of mm variations but...nothing distracting.) Holes for camera, proximity sensors, buttons, etc. are PERFECTLY aligned when the TF is properly inserted.
Closure: Magnetic...decent snap to it. There's magnets on BOTH ends of the case so it is quite secure.
Holding Mechanism: One of the weaknesses of this case. It has a flap that is on the landscape edge facing into the spine of folio case. Should have put a magnet or two in there to keep the flap more securely closed. Or Velcro. I think I'm going to add some velcro there myself. On the other hand, I think it is far better to have the flap on this side than along one of the portrait edges of the Tablet.
Stand angles: 2 actually, one inverted "low position" suitable for typing. One high angle for casual viewing I guess.
Conclusion: 1 thumb up--not two--because of the ridiculous pricing on these cases, $28 including shipping. Seriously, these things can't cost more than $5 in China where they are made.

Looks like there's a cutout in the tuck in flap but no cutout on the main cover. My guess is you can charge the transformer while in the case but that the cover has to be open.
Where did you get it? Was this one of the generic eBay ones?
I just got this case today (took about two weeks to arrive), and I'm thoroughly satisfied. It has holds for everything, even the Micro SD slot. Most importantly, the Transformer feels protected.
I just received mine today. I bought the brown version. It fits OK but overall the case is not of the highest of quality for instance there is a finger size mark on the front of the case. Can't help thinking in a couple of weeks the transformer will be slipping inside of the casehousing.
The listing on eBay said leather and I am going to complain and request a partial refund because it is definately not leather being some kind of ruberised finish and a joke of an attempt to show leather grain. I feel like I have been mislead....

Why are there so many people trolling the "FolioGuard" case in everyone else's threads? WTF? People KNOW there's the FolioGuard case. The point is THIS ISN'T THE FOLIOGUARD CASE AND IS A REVIEW OF A DIFFERENT CASE.
SoCalTiger, I got this one from eBay. Here is the link:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:US:1123#ht_5978wt_1018
I'm beginning to wonder whether this one IS genuine leather and NOT PU leather at all. I've "aired" it a good number of days and it STILL smells/feels like leather. The patterned marks don't seem to be pressed/printed into the case at all. There's a few other tests I can "run" to see if its real leather or not (including the "match" test, but I don't really want to ruin the case either).
Thanks!

Can you send/post the link for the one you ordered that you are not happy with? There DEFINITELY was NO option for "another color material" for this case. Just the variation in stitching color.
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Asus-Eee-Pad-...I&otn=3&po=LVI&ps=63&clkid=419235527009776241
3 different colours. Think I saw your link to the seller originally or you posted on the same thread I was reading. They were selling different colours under another listing. Anyway from the pictures you posted it is identical to mine... I think the ebay listing is misleading regarding the material.
Are you sure it isn't leather? I haven't tried the melt vs. scorch test on it yet so I'm not 100% sure. It feels like a really thin layer of leather over a harder backing...

Okay, that's it. I'm going to report every single one of your posts to have them deleted. All you are doing it trolling with your links to the FolioGuard.
100% certain its not leather. Got a reply from the the seller saying it is pv leather (I understand this to be a man made material and will never have been anywhere near a cow) which is fine but they should state this al the way through the listing. I have asked them to amend the listing and requested a part refund. If not I will report them to eBay and see what think
I am sure most people would be happy with the case and i agree with your review it does a reasonable job of proteting the Asus. The stitching is good but there is a small defect on the front of my case which
i like this case, might have to get one
well I am happy with the case seeing as i have just received a full refund. I do not need to return it either. So feels like a bargain now! Just shows you it is worth complaining. I hope they amend the listing to make it clear this is not leather for other people.

My case arrived this weekend, but I guess I don't need to do a review either.
It's definitely a decent case for an alright price. Build seems good and does the job perfectly.
No complaints really.

God those are ugly. Why would one go out of ones way to buy a beautiful device and the stick that on it?
what would you guys recommend as a decent protective yet slimline case for this device, preferably allow you to use the device whilst it's in the case. I've ordered the D2 but am deciding on what case to get

where can get??
www.zagg.com
thats where they are!
Invisishield
Wouldn't invisishield still require a case? It looks like the screen would still be very susceptible to dings, etc. that would kill the handwriting recognition.
I ended up ordering this:
http://www.blueunplugged.com/p.aspx?p=138216
and one of the silicone skins above. Got the leather case on me now. Pretty nice and a tight fit. Right side of it covers the end call button a bit but other than that it's all right. Would prefer if the leather was a bit thinner on the screen as it feels like it's recessed now. Regardless of that though I can still hit everything I want to on the screen so that's fine. The flip lid is hard and solid (must have thick card or something in it) so the screen is protected easily when it's shut. Also comes with space for memory cards and other plastic cards. Supplied with a removable screw on belt clip too! Doesn't add much bulk or weight to the phone and slips in nicely into my jeans pockets.
The best silicon cases are made by Capdase. I got my case for my HD a month ago. I checked, they don't have any yet but I am sure it will be available soon. What I will do is get a cheap replacement for now and wait for Capdase to come out with one. The one I have is non slippary and dust proof and and and it slips into my pocket nicely. Other silicon cases sticks to cloths and it's hard to get out of your pocket. It's not cheap, mine cost around $80 HKD which is around 6.50 GBP or 8 Euros. Hope this helps.

Nope.. I had one protecting my Diamond for 7 months... didnt effect ANYTHING. I dropped it a few times as well.
The IS is indeed very good
I have only seen it on a number if iPhones but it is as strong as they claim
We even tried the compass/knife test and scratched the hell out of it...or so we thought
It's very durable and did not damage the phone at all - Only downside is by the time it comes out (unless it is already), we'll all probably have a few light markings on it - no matter how well we keep it.
Something to note is the TD1 had a horrible procedure to apply it because of its curves/or lack of them ... I feel the TD2 will be much easier but lets see
Received my silicone case from xell_uk today ordered on the 30th April. Have to say it's a lot better than I thought it would be! Fits the D2 perfectly. Nice sized cut outs so you can easily access the ports and stylus and is snug and secure. Buttons are slightly more accessable as well compared to the other leather case I ordered. Device does look quite neat in this jacket too!

I've ordered my IS. Should arrive in a few days. http://www.zagg.com/invisibleshield...es-screen-protectors-covers-skins-shields.php
I don't get it. Isn't the screen the most important part of the device? Why protect the back and sides only?
Can someone recommend a solution to this?
FYI all: I got the silicone case, and it DOESN'T fit perfectly around the device. On the left the case is a bit loose, so you can see the device peeking... this can be seen in pictures of the silicone casing everywhere. So be aware...
I just bought a new case today and thought I would share it with everyone
Its called Platinum (Protetective Smartcase Holster)
It DOES NOT cover up the top mic, front facing side doesnt stick out like other cases (the number one thing i hate about my ballistics case from ATT) so when you need to touch the edge of the screen for what ever reason the case doesnt get in the way.
Its very nice to hold, and light, its thin and all around i think a good case, it no otterbox or ballistics case when it comes to protection, im fairly certain if i drop my phone in this case it can still incur damages, but if its a short fall it will hold up.
i think it makes it a little easier holding the phone with one hand as well.
but here are some pictures and if anyone has any questions feel free to ask
i bought it from bestbuy and its priced at $34.99 but i was lucky and got it for $24.99 because it was an "open item" so ask and see if they have one opened before buying full price

Case
That doesn't look too bad. I bought some Rocketfish branded POS from Best Buy, and I had to take it back immediately because it fit so poorly. How solid are the materials on this case?
pretty good, it doesnt feel cheap when holding or looking at it. theres a felt lining to keep the phone from scratching and its two pieces so it wont stretch out after trying to fit your phone in and out of it. its a nice case, like i said its not an otterbox or other "elite" case but i love it
Bought this case today while I was in best buy based on the info here. I'm very picky about my cases. I want thin and light but decent protection. This case is perfect. My case search is over (I've tried about a dozen now). I don't like buying online because I like to see the case before I buy it. Highly recommend this case.

i havent had a problem with the beltclip, ive used it for a few days now and i have a physical job. ive brushed it up against things and nothing. maybe it was just defective or hit your case in just the right spot?
just bought case yesterday
i just bought this case yesterday from best buy and i love it so far. the ballistic case would have been cool if it had a holster to go with it. this case adds very little bulk to the phone and feels great. ive used a seidio case with my nexus s and i never had a problem with it. they sell u a combo deal with a zagg screen proctector on it for $45. you can register the zagg sheild and you phone online so if anything happens to your screen they replace or fix the phone. i wish i would have known about the open case i prob would have asked for one to get it cheaper.
Just so you know, this case is the Seidio Surface case (seidioonline.com) rebranded for Best(?) Buy.
They also have other color options and a two-layer case on their site.
I like the case, however there is a very small gap between where it joins where you can see the silver rim. On top of this, the bottom plate is slightly wider than the top one so there's a small snag whenever you glide your finger down the edge.
If you're not needing the holster, I recommend buying it online as you can save $10 or so (assuming you don't buy it directly from Seidio)

No it isn't, same type of case but not made my seido. The seido cases are a tad thinner and of higher quality. I have owned both and prefer the seido, however Best Buy has a fantastic warranty so if you have issues they will resolve it promptly.
Just got this case yesterday and I'm having a hard time removing it. Is there a special trick to get this case off? Or is it just me. I tried what the instructions said, but it won't come off.

Yeah, it's kind of pricey but if you can afford it I totally understand getting a nice one. It's something you'll be holding for hours and hours. And I'd rather cover a really cool tablet with nice leather than cheaper plastic.
I don't think I can afford this one but I will be looking for a nice leather one. I have good leather on my Nook Simple Touch and love it.

They are very nice, very good quality leather, very good craftsmanship. Hand made after you order so allow an extra day. They might do custom tooling for you as well if you ask.
(tried to quote dkb218, but due to a link within the quote I cant do that yet!)
or you can go on ebay and buy a nice leather folio case from hong kong for ~$8...
...and it won't be hand-made in Santa Rosa, California, and won't be nearly as nice...
But, yeah, I can't afford one of those either.
Just buying 2 Nooks for xmas gifts and reeling from the intial cost. It isn't in my budget this year. But I really like them. I will hang onto the link for a possible Birthday or an xmas gift for next year..
Thanks.. I looked at the ones at B&N when I picked up the nooks and did not like them at all. Except for black, all the color ones were like neon colors which is not my taste, and made them look cheap.. Black just looked blahhh.. I like a darker deeper richer color as these leather ones seem to have.
One Note. I noted the B&N covers had holes in the cover for air.. I would imagine not a need unless you like to close the cover and leave it on. With all the cardboard & wool & leather on these covers, I don't think the air holes are there.

What!? But then your Nook might suffocate!
(Why would they have airholes?)
Also, I wish I never looked at this thread, since those are really nice covers at Oberon design.
I got the Medici Nook Color cover in brown from OberonDesign. Worth every penny!
I got the same in purple!!
So, I just received my Oberon NT cover that I ordered a little less than two weeks ago - AFTER the shipping cutoff date that was on the site. They totally shipped before Christmas, and not way after Pretty impressive. I got paisley in green, and it's a bit darker than on the site (which is good, it's not garish at all).
They're really, really, really nice covers - not just the leather, but the fit is an exact match. The straps that hold in the device are exactly fitted, they are designed to not cover buttons or the wifi area, there is storage space in the case for papers, the cover folds back nice. About the only thing missing is a way to prop the cover up for viewing (the only thing the Kindle Fire version had). This is one of those things that, after the device it is designed for dies and it doesn't fit any similar device, is going to get converted into a sketchbook/notebook cover.
very nice wood/book covers for nook devices
There's an outfit in Minnesota that does a very nice wood/book cover for a bunch of things.
The nook color/tab cover is 40 bucks, so for both of you who aren't returning your devices to BN by Dec 26 - or who want to see if they make a case for the device you're replacing it with - check 'em out.

There are 3 heavy leather straps that fit snuggly - two larger ones at the bottom and one slightly smaller with a bit more give at the top left corner. You slide the nook into the bottom two, pull the third leather strap a tiny bit, fit the nook in there, then stretch the top right elastic over the top right corner. It's actually really snug in there, but doesn't require much pushing/pulling. I was expecting it to be less precise, more stretching etc. It's easy to take in and put in, and doesn't move at all in the cover. I have no idea how they make them by hand with this much precision - I guess test it on an actual device on every cover. Anyway, nice work, and the smell & look inspires me to pick it up for reading (versus games), which is half the goal of a cover imo for the easily distracted (me!).
They do listen! Skin cases are finally here

There doesn't appear to be any cutout, from the picture, so unless these are amazingly thin (which would make them somewhat useless for protection), I don't think they'll work with the dock.
But if they're easy to remove and put back on, they'd be suitable to use when the TP is out of the dock.
Has anyone ordered one of these? Just worry 'bout the quality and fit.
I wonder if they protect enough for a fall, has anyone tried this product?
I would actually like to know how is the fit with the prime, i think with such a big skin the long bezel sides won't be well adjusted to the Prime and might be too loose.
Found them in Amazon Germany, but no reviews yet :/

No. Based on the images of the green-colored case on Minisuit's site it's obvious that the TPU is too thick to fit into the dock. This being the case, I would have preferred that they fully cover the 'lock-in' slots on either side of the power connector, so they don't fill up with dust.
It seems like Minisuit had some engineer design it who didn't know what all the holes where for. BUT I'll stop complaining. A silicone case for $7 (shipping included) is great!

It seems like Minisuit had some engineer design it who didn't know what all the holes where for. BUT I'll stop complaining.

It is kind of remarkable that a company would go to the trouble of manufacturing these, but NOT bother to even see what the ports and opening actually do, to intelligently decide whether or not they need a cut-out?!?
Sheesh.
Worth a shot

These appear to be the exact same skins just in a different color, which means that the center of the back is likely to be a little bit loose, just like with the black cases.
Mine shipped today, estimated arrival of 5/8. I'll keep ya posted.
Blah
It definitely feels like the same case, however this new one I got seems to fit a little better at the back, with less sag. I'm not sure if it was just a manufacturing difference or what. This case still has the same flimsy feel around the bezel.
My suggestion is to keep looking for another thin silicone case, if you want to give this one a shot it might be worth the 8 bucks though. I'm leaving this minisuit one one for now vs the other one I got off ebay.
Still in the market for a thin non-leather silicone type case. If anyone has seen the HP branded case for the Touchpad, that would be a near perfect case imo, with a magnetic closing mechanism or something.
Edit: After a day or so of use with the minisuit case, I feel like it is basically as good as this skin type case can get without a major overhaul. The back isn't sagging like the original one from ebay did, however the edges are still could be a little tighter (This is where the redesign would come in,) but overall its pretty good. I'm still interested in a slightly thicker version of this, it still doesn't add much protection.
For those interested, a company, BobJ Gear, is coming out soon with a very nice, silicone case for the Transformer Prime.
He's already made cases for the Toshiba Thrive, which gets rave reviews on Amazon, where they are sold.
I was lucky enough to receive one of his prototypes.
This is a tight fitting case, made from food grade silicone, very thick to provide excellent protection! Access to all ports are available. One of the photos below shows you a comparison between the cases soon to be released by BobJ Gear (shown in purple) and the case discussed earlier in this thread (the green case, on top). You'll see there's a noticeable difference in the thickness of the case, and the amount of silicone used to make the case.
This adds a little bit of weight, but provides great protection for the Transformer Prime! Case will also work for the T300, and he's planning to release a case for the T700 down the road!
These should be available end of this month.

Not a fan but im glad to see more cases popping up.
Ordered from China - I was thinking about importing more for other devices and selling them on if they were good enough, as there's an absence of silicone cases on the market here.
So, it comes in a rather nice plastic sleeve with Sikai all over it, and a very inspirational slogan: "Design originates from life. Specialization achieves quality." All good so far! I'm more impressed than I expected to be. Except with the slogan. It's not inspirational.

So I open up the sleeve. Immediately notice a really acrid rubber smell, even a few feet from the case. It's horrendous. It smells like there's been a friction fire in a condom factory. I've smelled more pleasant things coming out of my cat. You might expect this to be just the new rubber smell, but a rinse off doesn't get rid of it. No, this smell is here to stay. This certainly isn't the food grade material you get on some others. You'd be lucky to live if you ate anything off this.
Not that these things are designed for having lunch off, of course - but there's a trend today away from caustic rubber smells, BPA and parabens, and this doesn't try to follow. I wouldn't want any of the small things in my house chewing on this.
The smell is more bearable after a while. It's probably destroying my nose hairs. Okay, front view.
It looks okay. So some parts of it do take a big nod toward quality. The feel of the case is nice - the textured cover certainly won't be slipping out of your hands, and it's reasonably thick. The logo imprinted inside the case is a nice touch, too - that little extra bit, even though it's basically just a bit of blown rubber, adds to the overall impression of it.
The holes for peripherals, sensors and the cameras are nice, too - there's no spare silicone hanging off the holes, and overall it's really well made.
The back is just as nice. That textured feel is present all the way around. The Sikai logo is nicely imprinted - the detail is good. Overall, having a good feeling about it.
Okay, let's slide in the TF300T...
It goes in easily. Probably slightly too easily - after literally no struggle at all, the pad is in the case. And here's where the problems start.
Although the case fits snugly around the back, with all the holes matching up to the ports and sensors, around the front it's a different story. The front camera holes and sensors don't fit snugly - they're a few mm from the case holes, so that renders the front camera useless. You end up just seeing the ill-fitting case. All around the front of the case, the poor fit is the same:
But the holes fit nicely around the rest of the case: there isn't a mismatched hole, everything fits in and the volume buttons are taken care of nicely. They work very well.
However, leaving it on for a while, the deficiencies become apparent. That smell is back every time you get close to the tablet. Naturally, you may as well forget about using your front camera, too: it fits so poorly that it's entirely obscured by the case unless you hold it down to the glass. And the case starts to pick up the smallest of dust particles - not only that, but they stick to the case like... well, like the bad smell that the case also came with. They're a nightmare to get rid of. You're not cleaning this one in a hurry. And when you do clean it, it's going to get filthy again really quickly.
Alright, this is the black one - and we all know that black things show the dirt more. But the textured cover, while very impressive and grippy, just serves to attract dirt that gets stuck in the textures.
Not a great case - those fundamental flaws are the smell, the way dirt gets lodged in there and the extremely poor fit. "Specialization achieves quality"? It clearly doesn't. I think this is going in the bin - unless I find out a way to shrink it onto the pad, and then spray it with Febreeze every day.
Check this post out. I bought a silicone case off EBay that fits perfectly. Also, no acrid smell either. I have also listed my other purchases for my tablet in this post. The only thing missing is the dock. I just got it the other day from Office Depot. The manager even matched the price Walmart had online. I paid $119 for the dock.

Interesting. I was looking at a folding case instead. Something that's very similar to the first one - does the tablet fit pretty snugly?
Either that or a revolving one. They're just bulky, though. Kinda defeats the point of a thin and light tablet.

Oh yes, It fits the tab perfectly and I'm actually very impressed with it. Now that I've gone and bought a dock, I won't be using it as much as I would like.
I just bought a Poetic leather case for the dock and keyboard. According to the details and the reviews, it's all real leather and not the PU leather a lot of the cases are made of. I'll have it the first or second week of January and post a review for it.
Here's a link for it.
