Will this still fit into the dock?

There doesn't appear to be any cutout, from the picture, so unless these are amazingly thin (which would make them somewhat useless for protection), I don't think they'll work with the dock.
But if they're easy to remove and put back on, they'd be suitable to use when the TP is out of the dock.
Has anyone ordered one of these? Just worry 'bout the quality and fit.
I wonder if they protect enough for a fall, has anyone tried this product?
I would actually like to know how is the fit with the prime, i think with such a big skin the long bezel sides won't be well adjusted to the Prime and might be too loose.
Found them in Amazon Germany, but no reviews yet :/

No. Based on the images of the green-colored case on Minisuit's site it's obvious that the TPU is too thick to fit into the dock. This being the case, I would have preferred that they fully cover the 'lock-in' slots on either side of the power connector, so they don't fill up with dust.
It seems like Minisuit had some engineer design it who didn't know what all the holes where for. BUT I'll stop complaining. A silicone case for $7 (shipping included) is great!

It is kind of remarkable that a company would go to the trouble of manufacturing these, but NOT bother to even see what the ports and opening actually do, to intelligently decide whether or not they need a cut-out?!?
Sheesh.
Worth a shot

I got one of those loose ones... pretty disappointed. I'll try this though, 7 bucks shipped is worth a try. I'll let yall know.

These appear to be the exact same skins just in a different color, which means that the center of the back is likely to be a little bit loose, just like with the black cases.
Mine shipped today, estimated arrival of 5/8. I'll keep ya posted.
Blah
It definitely feels like the same case, however this new one I got seems to fit a little better at the back, with less sag. I'm not sure if it was just a manufacturing difference or what. This case still has the same flimsy feel around the bezel.
My suggestion is to keep looking for another thin silicone case, if you want to give this one a shot it might be worth the 8 bucks though. I'm leaving this minisuit one one for now vs the other one I got off ebay.
Still in the market for a thin non-leather silicone type case. If anyone has seen the HP branded case for the Touchpad, that would be a near perfect case imo, with a magnetic closing mechanism or something.
Edit: After a day or so of use with the minisuit case, I feel like it is basically as good as this skin type case can get without a major overhaul. The back isn't sagging like the original one from ebay did, however the edges are still could be a little tighter (This is where the redesign would come in,) but overall its pretty good. I'm still interested in a slightly thicker version of this, it still doesn't add much protection.
For those interested, a company, BobJ Gear, is coming out soon with a very nice, silicone case for the Transformer Prime.
He's already made cases for the Toshiba Thrive, which gets rave reviews on Amazon, where they are sold.
I was lucky enough to receive one of his prototypes.
This is a tight fitting case, made from food grade silicone, very thick to provide excellent protection! Access to all ports are available. One of the photos below shows you a comparison between the cases soon to be released by BobJ Gear (shown in purple) and the case discussed earlier in this thread (the green case, on top). You'll see there's a noticeable difference in the thickness of the case, and the amount of silicone used to make the case.
This adds a little bit of weight, but provides great protection for the Transformer Prime! Case will also work for the T300, and he's planning to release a case for the T700 down the road!
These should be available end of this month.
Here are a few photos.

I am looking for a portfolio case for the transformer... has anyone had any luck finding one? The Asus case seems nice, but I would like to put a couple other small things in it, have a slot for a stylus, and be under the $40 that they are charging. Here's what I'm looking for, only fitting the Transformer instead of the (shivers) iPad.

I'd be in for one of these in a heartbeat. That case looks AWESOME.
A friend has one for his iPad. It works perfect in the class setting we are in with the stand built in.
Sorry for the link not being a hyper link. I have been reading the forum for a while, and figured I should just take the dive and join in on the fun.
I'd much prefer a nice leather case too than the official sleeve. Lets just hope our eee pads become pretty popular and then lots of 3rd party manufacturer's will pump out some nice accessories.

Haha, well one thing needs to happen in order for it to become popular:
Asus needs to make more than 30 at a time and supply retailers with enough so it lasts a day or two!
Has anybody had any luck finding a portfolio case for the Transformer yet? The closest one I like/found is the rooCase Executive Folio for the Xoom.
i just received this case from ebay. Its quite a good fit

EDIT- forget it- i saw your other review post.
Apparently Tuff Luv were creating a tri-axis case for the transformer which was due in about 4-5weeks time. I would assume it would be similar to the one they made for the Xoom. Link HERE if you're interested in seeing it. Looks decent.

Looks cheap in material and expensive in price. They already have a bunch of "leather" cases out there for tablets. If it was me, i definitely wouldnt want a leather one as they are pretty much never leather and have a better chance of cracking than other materials. Plus by the looks of that case, its literally going to add about 50% thickness or more to the tablet when its closed.

Saw your review (http://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/showpost.php?p=55917642&postcount=42) and it DOES look like a really good fit. Real bummer about the top-left elastic though. If you put the top-left elastic on, does it actually press the volume button in? Or does it just block it? That might be the one deal-breaker for me at that price.

Taking photos to show the quality of any leather is tough. From what I've read about their products, I'm sure it will be high quality stuff. I would just prefer it if they made a simple book cover type case without the tri-fold parts tbh. Maybe they'll make other styles idk. The lack of quality leather cases from anyone so far is annoying.
I don't know where you are from, but here in the UK if something says it's leather, it's made of leather (unless you buy it at a market perhaps). Quality will differ though of course. Any quality leather that is cared for wont crack. I think the extra thickness is a good thing as it would protect it more. Might add a bit to the weight but I can live with that. It's a case of you get what you pay for when it comes to leather products.
Checked with PDair... new leather case coming end May for TF.
..no pricing yet but guess it would be same as iconia n xoom price of US$119....free shipping world wide... go to pdair.com to checkout iconia n xoom case. Nice good quality....but expensive .... for those interested n want to spend...another very good option.
They have some up on the site now
Any got any of this, would like to hear a review

Ya, saw on their site, sleeves are available.
But the folio case still not available but pricing is...just like I had guessed...same as the Iconia at US$119....free shipping worldwide though.
Quality wise..... will definitely be good, i had their case for my other gadget (phone)
But then again...its not cheap but material is very good and its real leather so will not peel like PU do, but cost is high
its personal choice really....spending about 1/3 to 1/4 of the tablet price (depending on where you got your tablet) on a leather case may not be everyone liking....so to each his own, but its really good stuff
Pdair book case

This is almost the same as the ver 2 of the PDair case, which i prefer to the ver 1.
Ver 1 or 2 are basically different deisng for the kick stand, v1 need the flap and v2 uses grooves on the inner side of the main cover lid.
I am not sure about the quality of your gtab, looks good and 50 is good price...looking at the Pdair similar case for the playbook at 65, I also feel that 119 is on the high side perhaps on the size which need more leather.
One thing I am sure, PDair leather is good quality and age very well.
Cheers

Hahaha
As mentioned before to each his own...have you seen or own PDair cases before...I dont deny its expensive but not insane as the quality is really superb.
check out any genuine leather case and you will see the the pricing is around 85 and above on average...you can get for playbook, ipad and smaller devices case for cheaper I guess for the fact that its smaller and less leather needed and also for some devices, the circulation is greater number and more competition, esp for ipad...many competitors cases.
ANyway is it worth getting? depends, if you intent to keep your TF for long, e.g. more than 1 year to 2 years, then perhaps yes, if you hop around devices then most probably no.
I am not in any way affiliated to PDair...just a very satisfied user of prior PDair case....I am also considering and really the price is the main consideration, I have no doubts on the leather and the workmanship from prior experience....will wait for 3.1 update to see whether TF and Honeycomb is a real keeper if it is, then I will get the case...
Just my 2cents...cheers
Too expensive
I can't believe how expensive the PDair leather case is on Ebay UK. £64!!! Then add postage. It would almost be cheaper to buy the keyboard dock and a netbook case!! Crazy talk...
I thought the Asus official sleeve was expensive. I guess I was wrong.
I'm a bit annoyed with Asus that they haven't released the official accessories for this tablet.
I'm so torn. PDAir makes some nice cases (I've owned them before), but $119?! Maybe if it was in the $70-80 range shipped, but that's just a bit too much.
Same here I woned Pdair cases before really good but this round its a bit expensive, again if the TF is a keeper for the next 2 years I might get one..really tempted...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1033233&highlight=pdair&page=3
Check out the xoom guys chat on the ver 2, basically same just the position of the slots for the ports and camera, switches are different.
Really tempted to get one...
There are some videos on YouTube http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=PDair+Leather+Case+for+Asus+Eee+Pad+Transformer&aq=f
Just received my Pdair case...version 2 design.....bite the bullet and bought it....expensive but the quality is great...the smell of the leather very nice...hahaha
The padding is very good and provide good protection to the tablet and the lid can be folded backwards when used as a reader in partrait mode for instance and the viewing as a stand with changeable angles is great.....the feel, design and quality is great...
The only thing is the price....not good, but hey noe that I bought it I am not going to think about it...and enjoy it instead....FYI, the postage is free worldwide, order from their site, not sure about ordering from other sites.
If I got the time will snap a few pics to show
cheers
I got that clip case from steve at electroniccrap.com- quality is great. I think I'll wait another bit for him to get his hands on the TF version- 100+ is just crazy.

Does he charge shipping fee?

Yes, very good quality indeed as always...which design did you get? I got the ver 2 design.
anyone care to post some pics?
Quick Review...yes its copied from the other thread that I posted in. But I figure plagiarizing my own stuff is ok. Plus, there are pictures now!
Material: Definitely not real leather. Is PU Leather but doesn't feel "cheap" in the hand either! Inside of the case is a velvety "soft" material...I guess a cloth version of suede is the best way to describe it. (Definitely not Alcantara like the stuff I have in the bucket seats of my car.)
Workmanship: Can't complain here either surprisingly! I was expecting it to be well, just ok....but the stitching is straight and even, uniform distance from the edges (yeah I'm sure there are tenths of mm variations but...nothing distracting.) Holes for camera, proximity sensors, buttons, etc. are PERFECTLY aligned when the TF is properly inserted.
Closure: Magnetic...decent snap to it. There's magnets on BOTH ends of the case so it is quite secure.
Holding Mechanism: One of the weaknesses of this case. It has a flap that is on the landscape edge facing into the spine of folio case. Should have put a magnet or two in there to keep the flap more securely closed. Or Velcro. I think I'm going to add some velcro there myself. On the other hand, I think it is far better to have the flap on this side than along one of the portrait edges of the Tablet.
Stand angles: 2 actually, one inverted "low position" suitable for typing. One high angle for casual viewing I guess.
Conclusion: 1 thumb up--not two--because of the ridiculous pricing on these cases, $28 including shipping. Seriously, these things can't cost more than $5 in China where they are made.

Looks like there's a cutout in the tuck in flap but no cutout on the main cover. My guess is you can charge the transformer while in the case but that the cover has to be open.
Where did you get it? Was this one of the generic eBay ones?
I just got this case today (took about two weeks to arrive), and I'm thoroughly satisfied. It has holds for everything, even the Micro SD slot. Most importantly, the Transformer feels protected.
I just received mine today. I bought the brown version. It fits OK but overall the case is not of the highest of quality for instance there is a finger size mark on the front of the case. Can't help thinking in a couple of weeks the transformer will be slipping inside of the casehousing.
The listing on eBay said leather and I am going to complain and request a partial refund because it is definately not leather being some kind of ruberised finish and a joke of an attempt to show leather grain. I feel like I have been mislead....

Why are there so many people trolling the "FolioGuard" case in everyone else's threads? WTF? People KNOW there's the FolioGuard case. The point is THIS ISN'T THE FOLIOGUARD CASE AND IS A REVIEW OF A DIFFERENT CASE.
SoCalTiger, I got this one from eBay. Here is the link:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:US:1123#ht_5978wt_1018
I'm beginning to wonder whether this one IS genuine leather and NOT PU leather at all. I've "aired" it a good number of days and it STILL smells/feels like leather. The patterned marks don't seem to be pressed/printed into the case at all. There's a few other tests I can "run" to see if its real leather or not (including the "match" test, but I don't really want to ruin the case either).
Thanks!

Can you send/post the link for the one you ordered that you are not happy with? There DEFINITELY was NO option for "another color material" for this case. Just the variation in stitching color.
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Asus-Eee-Pad-...I&otn=3&po=LVI&ps=63&clkid=419235527009776241
3 different colours. Think I saw your link to the seller originally or you posted on the same thread I was reading. They were selling different colours under another listing. Anyway from the pictures you posted it is identical to mine... I think the ebay listing is misleading regarding the material.
Are you sure it isn't leather? I haven't tried the melt vs. scorch test on it yet so I'm not 100% sure. It feels like a really thin layer of leather over a harder backing...

100% certain its not leather. Got a reply from the the seller saying it is pv leather (I understand this to be a man made material and will never have been anywhere near a cow) which is fine but they should state this al the way through the listing. I have asked them to amend the listing and requested a part refund. If not I will report them to eBay and see what think
I am sure most people would be happy with the case and i agree with your review it does a reasonable job of proteting the Asus. The stitching is good but there is a small defect on the front of my case which
i like this case, might have to get one
well I am happy with the case seeing as i have just received a full refund. I do not need to return it either. So feels like a bargain now! Just shows you it is worth complaining. I hope they amend the listing to make it clear this is not leather for other people.

I've not bothered with a cover as such - instead I was more in need of a case. Anyway, rather than buy a dedicated one (which - apart from the ones on eBay - are a bit expensive) I managed to get an HP netbook bag. This looks quite stylish - and at just over five bucks (equivalent) it didn't break the bank.
There's also a good amount of space for that crappy charger arrangement that Asus foisted on us - in my opinion the worst aspect of the product.
I just got a case from Tuff-luv, and i think it is really great.

I haven't seen any cases that work with the Asus dock that look good.
I couldn't get the above link to work but tough-love has some ok cases on this page you may consider. Though I still like my slim case better, but it dosen't work with the dock.

I have the official Asus Transformer case that I picked up at OfficeMax for $29.
It has flanges around the sides where it was sewn together but overall feels great and is a really good fit.
Downside is that it seems to be made upside down, so the flap wants to hang when open. You can fix this by rotating your screen upside down, but it doesn't play well with all apps.
The other gripe is that the charger port is near the "hinge" fold so you have to have the case open to access the charger.
I'd be interested in just a hard/thin plastic back that snaps around the corners and has a flap for the top.
Thank'd all of you.

Same problem here. Do you have a link to product?
Bluerex Ultra Slim KIND OF works with the keyboard.
You can use the keyboard with the case when it is open, but you can't really close it around the keyboard for storage.
i purchased this one Poetic(TM) Stand Leather Case from Amazon. it fits perfect nice and solid. looks professional. and its a good price
bought the custom folio case from electronic crap.
http://electroniccrap.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=34_36&products_id=62
sits nice around and good protection. can easily separate the tab from the dock and still have good protection on the tab.
The third fold closes nice with magnets, with and without dock. it also keeps the tab upright when docked and used on your legs. (the weight of the screen wants it to tip over when on the legs are not completely horizontal)
the only downside was the cover over the tab blocked the left speaker. but a sharp knife solved the problem.
Thnx for the info.

Great case... Kinda loose where the front cam is but overall good quality, has two magnets on each end to snap close. I'm satisfied

I found these in a search, ordered one and the quality is very good. These people do some awesome work with leather.

Jebus! That's expensive.
Here's a direct link to the Nook Covers... And yes... expensive but you get what you pay for...

$67 cover for a 249 tablet.....I hope that's free shipping. If not, its over $70, which is almost 30% of the cost of the tablet.

Yeah, it's kind of pricey but if you can afford it I totally understand getting a nice one. It's something you'll be holding for hours and hours. And I'd rather cover a really cool tablet with nice leather than cheaper plastic.
I don't think I can afford this one but I will be looking for a nice leather one. I have good leather on my Nook Simple Touch and love it.

They are very nice, very good quality leather, very good craftsmanship. Hand made after you order so allow an extra day. They might do custom tooling for you as well if you ask.
(tried to quote dkb218, but due to a link within the quote I cant do that yet!)
or you can go on ebay and buy a nice leather folio case from hong kong for ~$8...
...and it won't be hand-made in Santa Rosa, California, and won't be nearly as nice...
But, yeah, I can't afford one of those either.
Just buying 2 Nooks for xmas gifts and reeling from the intial cost. It isn't in my budget this year. But I really like them. I will hang onto the link for a possible Birthday or an xmas gift for next year..
Thanks.. I looked at the ones at B&N when I picked up the nooks and did not like them at all. Except for black, all the color ones were like neon colors which is not my taste, and made them look cheap.. Black just looked blahhh.. I like a darker deeper richer color as these leather ones seem to have.
One Note. I noted the B&N covers had holes in the cover for air.. I would imagine not a need unless you like to close the cover and leave it on. With all the cardboard & wool & leather on these covers, I don't think the air holes are there.

What!? But then your Nook might suffocate!
(Why would they have airholes?)
Also, I wish I never looked at this thread, since those are really nice covers at Oberon design.
I got the Medici Nook Color cover in brown from OberonDesign. Worth every penny!
I got the same in purple!!
So, I just received my Oberon NT cover that I ordered a little less than two weeks ago - AFTER the shipping cutoff date that was on the site. They totally shipped before Christmas, and not way after Pretty impressive. I got paisley in green, and it's a bit darker than on the site (which is good, it's not garish at all).
They're really, really, really nice covers - not just the leather, but the fit is an exact match. The straps that hold in the device are exactly fitted, they are designed to not cover buttons or the wifi area, there is storage space in the case for papers, the cover folds back nice. About the only thing missing is a way to prop the cover up for viewing (the only thing the Kindle Fire version had). This is one of those things that, after the device it is designed for dies and it doesn't fit any similar device, is going to get converted into a sketchbook/notebook cover.
very nice wood/book covers for nook devices
There's an outfit in Minnesota that does a very nice wood/book cover for a bunch of things.
The nook color/tab cover is 40 bucks, so for both of you who aren't returning your devices to BN by Dec 26 - or who want to see if they make a case for the device you're replacing it with - check 'em out.

If you are talking about the "n" cover, the holes are stylistic. I have one of the faux leather B&N covers and it has no holes.
I like these oberon covers but I like how the 1st party covers click the nook in place as opposed to elastic. How do these work?

There are 3 heavy leather straps that fit snuggly - two larger ones at the bottom and one slightly smaller with a bit more give at the top left corner. You slide the nook into the bottom two, pull the third leather strap a tiny bit, fit the nook in there, then stretch the top right elastic over the top right corner. It's actually really snug in there, but doesn't require much pushing/pulling. I was expecting it to be less precise, more stretching etc. It's easy to take in and put in, and doesn't move at all in the cover. I have no idea how they make them by hand with this much precision - I guess test it on an actual device on every cover. Anyway, nice work, and the smell & look inspires me to pick it up for reading (versus games), which is half the goal of a cover imo for the easily distracted (me!).
