[Q] cant receice or send any texts messages! - Fascinate Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

i just flashed the super franken clean rom on my samsung fascinate and now i cant send or receive any messages.. please help

Go to your settings and click on about phone. What does it say under 'baseband version'?

Any reason you flashed a ROM that is 2-3 months old?

Lol that was gonna be my next question and then I was gonna suggest upgrading. I'm almost 100% sure that his radio isn't compatible (a.k.a. he's using an old radio) so he would have had this problem even if he flashed a newer ROM.

[Q] attempting to return to stock

hi all
been an avid reader of this forum for a while now, and thanks to the search feature i havent had to ask a question up until now.
I have an AUS purchased SGSII which i got from a store called Crazy Johns. Now this phone came with a clean rom, meaning it had no carriers bloatware on it.
I rooted it and flashed the litening rom on it, and for a few months now i havent been happy with a few things so i want to return to stock.
Thanks to this thread, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278 , i found my PDA/Phone XXKH3 however i cant find my CSC, which is OXAKH3.
Since i am with Telstra, and i dont have an issue with the bloatware, if i flashed it with CSC TELKF3, which according to the thread above is the one for telstra, would this work?
Not a complete noob when it comes to flashing but am new to this scene so not sure and i dont want to brick it.
Sure you wanna go back to stock? Try cyanogen first
Well i am mainly concerned about the battery usage, its a lot compared to what i was getting out of stock. Used to last me 2 days, now its barely getting me through one.
Got problems with apps force closing for no reason, specially facebook. Random reboots and random wakeups.
I dont really care if its stock or not, i just flashed it because i wasnt really in this scene and wanted to get my foot in the door with something.
Can i flash another rom on top? do you have a link to the roms thread? will it be a no wipe flash?

[Q] G1 problem

Hi, i have a problem with my G1. I have rooted it and installed some of custom roms. It works fine for a while and later it stucks sending and receiving sms and calls... Maybe you know how to fix it?
Do you mean that it freezes when you send and receive calls and texts? and also, has it done this on multiple roms or just one? If it is only on a specific rom then you should try posting this in the G1 forum Q/A with the name of the rom in the title. The author might be able to help you.
If it's on every rom it might be that you are using a newer version of android (or variant) with an older version of the radio or some issue with your radio all together. Have you looked for the most recent radio and flashed it?
Thank you for your answer. It stops sending/receiving calls and sms after some time using it. When I reboot it works great for some time and then again same thing... I have this problem with all roms that I tried... I used radios that was written in roms description.
Do I need to flash the radio and spl again, when I do the wipe/factory reset thing, before loading new rom?

From Gingerbread to ICS

I just bought a bell galaxy note. It is unlocked and I am using it with a Mobilicity sim. Can someone tell me what would be the best way of upgrading to ICS?
Thanks.
There is a sticky right at the top of this section that will help get you started.

My sig is what I used, look it all up and see if its what you want to do (stock ROM or modded) and PM me for help. I'm a noob to rooting but I can get you started.
Is there any way to get OTA bell ICS update now that I am with Mobilicity?
Is your phone rooted? If not you should receive the update by OTA also. Or if the update is available by using Kies, you can get it that way.
Not sure if you got your answers ...
but I have my Note with ICS and with Jelly Bean OTA ................ and steps seems pretty easy if u READ and PAY ATTENTION and follow them...
here are few things that I did ...
1) download Samsung KIES ( if you have already - make SURE ITS UPDATED)
http://www.samsung.com/us/kies/
2) Download and install CWM ( i used the GUI version ... yes am lazy about doing three fingure boot etc ,,,)
3) Download and keep ICS rom of choice (( search and read here , lots and lots of them ..... like kid in candy jar!!)
one I suggest =
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1765316&highlight=cwm+gui
The above ( 3) link will show you most resources and things to do
and sit back and ENJOY !! note = Pure amazin in RAW form , and let loose with some of the fancy ROMS
you can spend hours and hours << ah remember the days of Andriod 1.6 and 3am morning still flashing ROMS !!LOL))
Hope this helps
say thanks if it did
I did all of the above. I rooted the phone and then flashed CWM followed by super user. I then chose FJ ICS rom and flashed it as well. However, although everything went well and I was able to boot the phone to ICS 4, I have lost contact with my service provider (mobilicity).
Just so that you know, I bought this unlocked phone which came with Gingerbread and everything was working fine.
I have restored the phone back to the stock ROM but I still cannot see the Mobilicity network.
Can someone tell me what I need to do to get the phone back to its original state?

Rom Advice Needed Plz

Morning all,
My daughter is using my sons old Verizon Fascinate,
The phone is rooted and running a very old custom rom, not sure what one it is buts it is real buggy, lots of random reboots, random no rings, random vibrate for no reason, etc
I want to flash a different rom fro here so the phone is usable again until she can get a new phone,
Im a HTC so Im asking all of you Samsung guys for advice.
What is the most stable stable rom I can DL and install for her so the phone works as it should,
stability is more important then anything custom or cutting edge.
I would believe the flashing process is the same for the Sammy's as the HTC
Reboot into recovery
factory reset
wipe everything
flash rom
setup account/phone
dont restore any data
let it settle down for a while
enjoy
?
She is coming over today so I hoping someone see's this this morning and can give me some ideas
Thanks for your input
Check DROIDSTYLES GUIDE its what I've used for any and all problems I've ever had with flashing ROMS
Sent from my SCH-I500 using xda app-developers app

SGS3 problem running cm-13.0-20160217-NIGHTLY-i9300

Hi xda
I am new to this site, so sorry in advance if this thread is posted in the wrong section of the forum. Please let me know if Im doing something incorrect.
Anyways, my problem is, that I have two SGS3's both flashed to cm-13.0-20160217-NIGHTLY-i9300 (older versions have been tried out as well), where one of them can't make or recieve calls. Everything else works on it - send and recieve texts, mobile data etc. (the IMEI and serial number are both original and intact). Both the phones were originally running the Android Jellybean 4.3 Nordic version (I9300XXUGND5_NEEGND1_Nordic_4.3), and both were flashed using twrp 3.0.0.1 (and running GAPPS 6.0 pico).
I find it strange, that the phone is able to make and recieve texts and access the mobile network, while not being able to make or recieve calls. Anyone got any idea as to why this is a problem?
It should be noted, that the phone has no trouble at all when running the stock Android 4.3 or CrDroid Android 5.1.1.
The two phones are completely identical, and only one of them has trouble with calls on cm-13.0-20160217-NIGHTLY-i9300 (and any other version of cm for that matter).
Hope somebody knows what the problem is.
