[Q] G1 problem - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, i have a problem with my G1. I have rooted it and installed some of custom roms. It works fine for a while and later it stucks sending and receiving sms and calls... Maybe you know how to fix it?

Do you mean that it freezes when you send and receive calls and texts? and also, has it done this on multiple roms or just one? If it is only on a specific rom then you should try posting this in the G1 forum Q/A with the name of the rom in the title. The author might be able to help you.
If it's on every rom it might be that you are using a newer version of android (or variant) with an older version of the radio or some issue with your radio all together. Have you looked for the most recent radio and flashed it?

Thank you for your answer. It stops sending/receiving calls and sms after some time using it. When I reboot it works great for some time and then again same thing... I have this problem with all roms that I tried... I used radios that was written in roms description.
Do I need to flash the radio and spl again, when I do the wipe/factory reset thing, before loading new rom?

Replacement Phone

I had a older rom version on my Verizon XV6800, I was able to get gps working by following this link: http://www.phonenews.com/how-to-add-gps-to-htc-mogul-xv6800-p4000-titan-2663/ but it stop vibrating, it would only ring. I Took it the tech support, they determined I needed a replacement phone. I got a replacement phone with the following specs:
Windows Mobile 6.1
ROM version: 3.57.605.1
Rom Date 7/21/08
Radio Version: 3.37.75
Should I following this: http://www.phonenews.com/how-to-add-gps-to-htc-mogul-xv6800-p4000-titan-2663/ to get my GPS working again or is there another method since this ROM is a new version
You have 2 choices, search for the thread in using gps with MR1, or flash it back to an older Verizon stock rom with Windows Mobile 6.0 and then follow the normal flashing thread to get it up to a custom 6.1 rom. The problem is MR1 disables GPS except for their own GPS app or the Valhala server that someone wrote.
Honestly I think it's best that you flash back to 6.0 and then upgrade normally thru the custom route so that more GPS tools work without running a 3rd party app.

Do u kno where I can find the thread to go back to original rom?
try this http://forum.xda-developers.com/archive/index.php/t-376873.html http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=376873
good think is before flashing stock rom ,activate different phone then flash
after you done reactivate PDA so you dont have to call verizon to get a A-KEY
Why do you recommend to activate a different phone? I did not need a new a key when I went from MR1 to old stock version then to DCD.
when i flashed mine to old rom then dcd's first what i did. flashed bootloader ,radio rom ,and dcd's rom .using RUU via USB cable and i lost A-key .
i did not use SD card method

Hey Billy do u have walk thru for flashin back to 6.0 and then upgrading normally
Actually I don't have a Verizon phone, I only know what I stated based on other threads I have read.
I would check HTC's website, they may have an older stock rom listed still. If not, then I'm sure there is a Wiki on here somewhere with links to older roms.
As far as ability to flash, you may need to relock the phone first, I would wait for some other wiser VZW user to respond.

Hey all, can anyone update the Verizon aGPS fix article in the wiki to include this info? A lot of people see the links that send them to the wiki for the fix (having MR1 already on their phone, updated or bought that way) and the fix doesn't work (FRUSTRATING). It would save so much trouble if there was 1 line that said "If you have MR1 installed and want to upgrade to a custom rom w/GPS, downgrade to (link to original rom) and then upgrade to your choice." Apparently that is a big problem people run into (me included) and so much frustration would be avoided (as well as so much posting space). So, can anyone add/change that for us?

I need helpppppppppppppppppppppppppp

I kept flashing my at&t fuze many times to find the perfect one but i wasn't happy so i flashed it to nfsfan wm6.5 after that i turn the phone on and its stuck at the at&t screen in the beginning ....any one knows how to fix this problem?
this is the cdma section & att is gsm his rom wont work on your phone..u need to flash to a different rom (att/gsm)
yea you should read before you flash
man i didnt know am a noob..lol..can somoene please send me a link or something to download ?
Some ROMS do not like certain phones, trust me your not the only one this has happened to. Try flashing a new ROM and it should work. I myself cannot flash certain Kitchens. When i do the same issue your having occures with my phone. Just reflash a new ROM and you should be good.

[Q] cant receice or send any texts messages!

i just flashed the super franken clean rom on my samsung fascinate and now i cant send or receive any messages.. please help
Go to your settings and click on about phone. What does it say under 'baseband version'?
Any reason you flashed a ROM that is 2-3 months old?
Lol that was gonna be my next question and then I was gonna suggest upgrading. I'm almost 100% sure that his radio isn't compatible (a.k.a. he's using an old radio) so he would have had this problem even if he flashed a newer ROM.

Galaxy5 I5500 radio help

After the latest update to cyanogenmod7.1 v 1.5 (hotfix 1 ), I cannot make any outgoing calls or send sms or get connected to mobile data connection. I can receive calls without any problem atall, wifi works like breeze. FM radio havent had the oppertunity to check. bluetooth working very nice. I will appreciate any insight into this matter. I tried to update the radio through the link mentioned in the FAQ page, but my clockworkmod gives error which generally means somewhat like "this version of script is no longer supported".
I am posting here since I am a noob and noobs are not allowed to post in the official development forum.
Did you change your Baseband to the ones recommended on the list?
http://www.madteam.co/forum/development/basebands/
The majority of users recommend I5500LUYJPE (USA).
To check what baseband you are using, go to Settings > About Phone and look at 'Baseband version'
Sorry forgot to add that my baseband was JPE at the time I posted this.
I have installed jpo today the result is the same with the radio. I will probably downgrade to 1.1 as it was working fine for me, by Sunday. Thanks though.
Added later: I have installed the hotfix2 as well but no improvement of the above
Sorry its a Sim problem. I have to change the sim. Thanks for your help.

SGS3 problem running cm-13.0-20160217-NIGHTLY-i9300

Hi xda
I am new to this site, so sorry in advance if this thread is posted in the wrong section of the forum. Please let me know if Im doing something incorrect.
Anyways, my problem is, that I have two SGS3's both flashed to cm-13.0-20160217-NIGHTLY-i9300 (older versions have been tried out as well), where one of them can't make or recieve calls. Everything else works on it - send and recieve texts, mobile data etc. (the IMEI and serial number are both original and intact). Both the phones were originally running the Android Jellybean 4.3 Nordic version (I9300XXUGND5_NEEGND1_Nordic_4.3), and both were flashed using twrp 3.0.0.1 (and running GAPPS 6.0 pico).
I find it strange, that the phone is able to make and recieve texts and access the mobile network, while not being able to make or recieve calls. Anyone got any idea as to why this is a problem?
It should be noted, that the phone has no trouble at all when running the stock Android 4.3 or CrDroid Android 5.1.1.
The two phones are completely identical, and only one of them has trouble with calls on cm-13.0-20160217-NIGHTLY-i9300 (and any other version of cm for that matter).
Hope somebody knows what the problem is.
