[Q] Remove all sense except rosie? - Thunderbolt Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there a script that can do this? Or do i have to do it one by one in TiBu?

I just did as much as possible one by one using titanium. I would freeze things first and run for a while before deleting.

[Q] HTC Messaging App with backup

Does anyone remember the way the stock HTC SMS app had a built in option to backup all your texts on some of the Sense 2.0/3.0 hybrid ROMs on the OG EVO? Anyone know how to get that app working on our 3VOs? And where I might be able to get the app from?
anyone?

[Q]definitely change default apps?

Hi i was wondering if there's a way to change the default app of a rom. For example, i use go launcher ex, boat browser, go sms pro ecc, is it possible to make those apps the dafault ones? Taking out the stock ones, and using those as stock?
When you choose one app, it ask if you want use it as default....
Thanks... I knew it! But everytime i reboot the nexus, i have to choose again all the preferences!
I meant, is It possible to substitue the default apps, with the ones i use?

I think what is being asked is,
can a ROM be unpacked, delete the apps you don't want and replace them with your own.
At least that's what I think is meant

Yes, That could be an answer! Or i don't know, is It possible via terminal, adb... Sadly i'm not a dev, and i don't know as much as i would!
Anyway... Yes! Is It possible to unpack a rom and replace the apps with the ones i want?

You can just open a rom zip and delete the apps the from /system/app/ directory.
Alternatively, you can download titanium backup from the market. This app allows you to backup or uninstall apps.

quick office removal

Will titanium backup remove this terrible app?

Yes, next time I recommend freezing it and seeing if that breaks anything before deleting it before making threads though.

No SMS alert/notification. Frozen app culprit?

So i'm using the stock messaging app. Yesterday I froze some apps using TB. Is it possible one of those apps has rendered my text notification not working?
Good place to start?

i suppose its possible
my uneducated guess is that its possible
did you just randomly freeze apps or did u check the bloatware thread first?

Was Email Engine one of them? IIRC that's the one responsible for message routing.

I prefer the AOSP phone app myself, but why remove one at all? Just use Titanium Backup to freeze which ever one you don't want to use. That way if a problem comes up with the phone app you choose to keep, you can unfreeze the other.
Cheers!
