Hey, Im pretty new to this forum so please be gentle!
I have made a search on the forum a few times, and had a look if I could see this specific questions posted anywhere else, and I couldnt. If anyone does see this, please feel free to link me and I will read all the posts.
I did read through the forum discussion of Galaxy S2 V Galaxy Nexus, but I just had a particular question.
I want a new Android phone, and I like the look of both of these (slightly prefere the GS2, as it has expandable storage).
Basically, I am a student studying Software Engineering and we are working on Java. I want to be more employable and teach myself more, and I enjoy programming so...
I basically want the best phone for someone who wants to develop android apps, and just wondered what everyones suggestion here would be.
If there are different phones to the ones I have suggestion, please tell me.
Thanks in advanced for all your help!
Dan
Easy. Three words. Samsung Galaxy Nexus! It IS a developer phone, and it also has a large dev community already. I can promise you it will not be a bad decision.

Thanks for the answer!
What exactly do you mean by a developer phone? Because its stock android?
this phone is maintained by google. this is why is a dev phone ;-)
Dev 1 should be the best for begginers, GNexus should be best for whole devs. But because of density and ICS-GB-FY uncompability, you should get more than 1 phone

Id love to, but I can only afford one. Galaxy S 2 is easily in budget and is 32gig, where as the Nexus isnt and is only 16gig But I imagine most people would agree its better for devs...
Edit: Dev 1 says its been replaces bu the Nexus series...so guess that answers my question
Please use the Q&A Forum for questions Thanks

My apologies for the mispost..
Still no responses? I am surprised, this is actually a really solid device that they are giving away for the cost of the data plan, which you would pay for anyway!
I tried googling but no luck finding it... I have a verizon note 2 and I want to put it on pre paid. Do I have to flash it. If inot then can you post a link that shows me how to do it.

The only services that would work with the Note 2 is the GSM prepaid companies. I have read that you can use your Note 2 on T-Mobile's network with the limitation of having the data not functioning. You'll have to tamper with the APN settings to get the data to work, and in order to do that you'll have to root the device. I'm talking behalf of what I've read on these forums.

I think you need to spend more than 30 seconds looking for it. I have come across it many times.

Hi, i'm from dominican republic, my S3 GT-I9300 died because of "SDS", but it didn't have warranty so Samsung won't change the mainboard. I want to know if i can replace the mainboard with any I9300 mainboard even if it's from UK?
come on guys, i need your help

3 bumps in less than 24 hours. Stop or I'll report you. Wait for a response.
at a guess i cannot see a reason why not, most likely it would be best if its from an unlocked device(network)
@ previous post - beside the moderators post the other is pointless, if you cannot help then dont post, leave the mods to do there job or press the report button instead of trying to scare people away with threats of reporting
if someone requires help and his post is pushed more and more down the list in the index by other post he will feel that for a chance to be seen it needs to stay at least on the 1st page
ive experienced it myself

it doesn't matter, rules are there for a reason
The mobo in the gt-i9300 is the same. You'll get a different imei if you're fitting it yourself.
Have you asked for a quote for the repair from samsung / service centre/ mobile repair shop?

guidelines are there for a reason,if someones new to the forum then they wont know the rules. your post was just as bad as his pointless ones, your not a moderator so it would of been acceptable and within the rules for you to press the report button

wrong. people shouldn't post anything before reading the rules. If you want to continue this discussion, write me a PM, because it's obviously offtopic
Hello,
and thank you for taking your time to look in this thread. first, moderators, please move the thread if this is not the correct section and second, I searched a lot on google but all there is replacing lcd or trying to get i9305 motherboard into a i9300.
I have a i9305 model and it got heavy fall from my hand and I took it to samsung and they said it needs a motherboard replacement as it has cracks on several spots. and they said i9305 motherboard would cost around 280$ as of right now, I cant afford that much amount and while I was looking for it for some bargain, I saw there are lot of i9300 motherboards for around 120$ on ebay and other retailers. so as far as I know, most of things are same in these 2 models except for motherboard and antenna. so I thought of trying to minimize the cost by replacing i9305 with i9300 motherboard. and I seek advice on is this possible and what else would be needed??
again thank you, and help me please.

I'm not really sure, but if it is possible, you'll probably loose the 2 GB of RAM.

Yes sir, I have been using xda for lots of reading and I know the rules. I saw those threads and I have read each of them.
first google search brings is replacing about display. and again front panel.and then about upgrading s3 to s3 LTE. and then there is only one thread identical, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2451777, but it only has 2 3 replys of doubts. So thats why I posted again. Sorry if its against rules. so if you think it is aginst, please close this thread. or I really hope for some help to get a i9300 motherboard into i9305 casing. thank you for taking a look.
