[Q] Worms anybody? - Atrix 4G Themes and Apps

The game by EA/Team17 works on my Nexus S and Sony Arc but not on my Motorola Atrix (rooted or unrooted). I got the "Unsupport Device" error message. Anybody has the same problem or a solution?

Worked on Nexus S...........Worked on Sony Arc.............You say not anymore on Atrix............did it work before on Atrix? If not, I suspect that's because "unsupported device"!

Worms hasnt worked on the Atrix since day one. After downloading from the market you are propted to download the additional data. This is where the "unsupported device" message pops up. Same thing with Sims3 and I imagine the rest of EAs games too. I sent THREE emails to EA about this and they will not respond. So i tried to get it working myself.. I copied the data (on my Captivate) from /sdcard/Android/data/com.eaworms...... There are actually two folders there. I zipped them, dropboxed them to Atrix, unzipped and pasted to the /sdcard/Android/data. Launched Worms and I still get prompted to download, followed by the error.

Good thinking, pity it didn't worked!!! I also sent an error report to EA with no respond yet! I wonder what this "unsupported device" is and what it actually means!? I paid for my Worms at Market and it does not work on my Atrix before rooted or after rooted!

Yes please explain. Everything I read about Chainfire has to do with graphics...

You need chainfire pro and then install the qualcomm/powervr plugin. Then use that plugin as you default so basically what happens is that sims/worms etc will think you have a qualcomm/powervr chipset and hence you stop getting the device not supported.
Works the other way too. Non tegra 2 devices can play early (current) tegra 2 games

Yep. On chainfire 3d pro you can change the settings under "per app settings" or something like that which allows you to choose certain setting for certain apps

Chainfire3D does not work for Worms! I bought the Pro version. I tried both the Qualcomm and the Powervr plugins. I tried almost every combination of different settings. I tried both the default opengl settings and the per app opengl setting. Still fails on install with the same message.

Did you reboot?

I did reboot, several times. And tried all again with more reboots just now. Can anybody actually confirm Worms working on the Atrix w Chainfire3D? If so, what are your settings? From my experience CF3D does NOT correct the compatability error when trying to download the additional data. The only other variable would be the game data I mentioned earlier.

Can anybody actually confirm Worms working on the ATRIX with CF3D?
If so, what are your settings?
Afaik right now CF3D is a good attempt but will NOT resolve the incompatibility problem that exists for Worms on the Atrix. It seems the issue is NOT a graphics incompatibility issue but a different issue all together.

The more I think about this the more I believe it is the Atrix 's qHD 960x540 display. Worms just was not written for this resolution. Just need EA to confirm this.

Please share what they say. i just ran CF3D again because there were updated drivers available. Still nothing.

I just don't know. It works perfectly well on my ex Nexus S, my ex Sony Arc, my HTC HD2, and even my daughter's HTC Wildfire, but just not the Atrix!!!! :-(

Not the screen resolution...its the tegra chip...ea is a bunch of tools and they are slow as hell when updating android but when it comes to ios they jump right on it...then wait 2+ weeks for submission into the app store...we could have the updates right away but they don't care about servicing to the hardcore gamers with the tegra 2 :-(

Does anyone know if its supported for the Legend?
Couldn't spot it in the market , so grabbed the APK file from XDA.
It doesn't launch just goes to a blank screen and then returns to the app list.
Have tried launching 5 times, still no luck.
Reboot as also not helped.
Am running Azure CM6 ROM.
Is it not supported on the Legend?

i tried it on my Legend, it works. i'm usting Azure cm6, but screen resolution is no good.
I will update Azure version from 0.5 to 1.0 and see if that helps....
EDIT:
Updated from Azure0.5 to Azure1.0 - it runs now... though not sure about the resolution - not suited for our screen size maybe? The sides are chopped off... Its frozen a few times too...

Works fine on my stock Legend, had to download the apk from elsewhere though.
Only issues are slowdowns on some levels and the menus are not scaling for the lower res screen.
Phone got pretty warm after a big playing session as well.
downloaded the apk file and i tried to install it with "apps installer" from market, didnt work.
with "appinstaller" i was able to install it
its a lil laggy and not made for the screen resolution of the legend, but still great fun

As per post #3, its working fine, just the resolution/scaling is not fit for our Legend screens. That only affects us during menu screens, as the gameplay seems unaffected.
I have 3 stars on all levels apart from Level 7.
Anyone else completed it yet?
I'm stuck at level 7 is well, need to do some more training

Works fine with stock (just rooted) 2.03, Azure 1.0, Azure 1.0.1, Dark Azure 11/09.
The full game is out within 3 weeks.
Lets hope there is official support for the Legend...

Madden 11 Working. Tested on Droid 2 & Droid x

This is the madden 11 from the new droid x update. This is the demo but i have paid the $9.99 for the game and the games works and plays well. just install the apk and the game will download the rest of the data please please please be patient the download does take awhile but it was wroth it.

Just downloaded this and tried it on my Evo (rooted Myn's 2.2.). Unfortunately the animations do not properly display players. Still tried to play the game, simply by calling plays. I think the game has good potential, once the animation issues are worked out.
I am using the HTC Inc Rooted and having same issue with black field... Looks like it would be fun If I could actually see what I was doing.

[Q] Should Modern Combat 2 HD work on SGSII?

Hi,
I installed Modern Combat 2 HD from Samsung's Games Hub and it crashes after downloading all of the extra 249MB.
I tried to use Chainfire's CF3D driver with NVIDIA plugin but it didn't work as well.
Does this happen to anyone else?
I bought this game today and it runs fine on my Stock Galaxy S2.
I have the game as well and it runs fine on my phone :/
I had issues running it, got force close errors all the time. Someone on another thread posted a work around.
Try to open it, after you get the fc dialog, click ok to get rid of dialog then hold the hardware home button for a couple of seconds. A list of recently opened apps will be displayed. Find the game here and open it. Should work from here

What Build number is everyone using? I am currently on KE2. It could be a bug that is build specific.
I'm running KE7 and this workaround works for me.

Er, why not just buy it at the Market? The version there is fully compatible with the SGSII, I have it on mine.
I bought it from Samsung GameHub. Everything there should work perfectly.

I don't really understand this comment? What's the difference between buying it on the market or off the Gameloft website?
It was available for £1 on the Gameloft website, which automatically picked up that my phone was an SG2... surely it should be fully compatible with SG2 if they are making it available to owners of the phone on their website?

Has anybody yet tried Need for Speed Hot Pursuit from the market on the Nook Color?

I bought it. Haven't been able to download the rest of the game. I'm hoping to try on my HTC EVO and copying it to the NC. Once I do that, I'll know if it works or not.
Not compatible with ALL my devices. Ugh. What do I mod the build.prop to make it compatible?
I believe that there is different download sizes for different devices out there but I could be wrong. Let me know how it works out.

It shows as available for download on my NC which is build.prop edited to spoof a SPH-P100. The galaxy tab uses PowerVR video like the NC so it should be compatible (assuming the NC can handle the game).
Make these build.prop changes:
ro.product.model=SPH-P100
ro.product.brand=bn
ro.product.name=SPH-P100
ro.product.device=encore
ro.product.board=encore
ro.product.manufacturer=samsung

I've tried a lot of different combos of build.prop to try to get this game to work. no luck so far. It installs from the market, but when you go to download the game files it just hangs at 0% forever. Any help is appreciated.
In that case you may have to find the sd card files on the internet. A quick google should take you there. Just make sure you get PowerVR files (unless you want to try CF3d and a different .apk).
OK new update fixed the download problem from EA.
The download for the Nook is 294MB with stock build.prop in CM7.1 and works great.

I don't have it installed since I updated to ICS but EA updated the game at some point were I just installed it from the market and updated the game.

But sound is interrupted /stutters, video looks good, but tilt to steer does not work at all. So, it's not playable.

there is a 3d issue with alpha3. i would buy anyway and run it when future android is stable for our tp. Asphalt 6 works fine on our tp. so if you got a chance to buy it, it's a great buy.
Im on the xron version and its handled all game apps like a champ, probably gonna buy and hold, it's only a dime

I try it, but it's working on my tp, I am using alpha 3, and alread change "nexus s" on build.prop
The next version of xron is supposed to have a new build.prop to have better market access.

The build.prop fix didn't work for NFS Shift, however I have been able to get it to work using my Android phone as a workaround.
Required: TitaniumBackup on both TP and a rooted Android phone.
I was able to install on the TP from the market using the alpha3 build.prop. however, each time I launched NFS It would fail to download game data (NaN error). My HTC Desire HD wasn't showing as compatible with NFS, so I took a titanium backup copy of nfs on the TP and transferred the files to my phone via PC (the files you need are in /sdcard/TitaniumBackup and will have a name beginning with com.eamobile.nfsshift_row_wf)
I restored NFS from backup on the phone, and launched it this time the game data downloaded. I played a single race to make sure it was OK. Using my PC again I copied the game data folder (/sdcard/Android/data/com.eamobile.nfsshift_row_wf) from my phone to the TP in the same location.
Fired it up and it works really well and is proper full screen once the game launches. The initial splash screen is letterbox'd.
Hope this helps anyone wanting to use NFS Shift on the TP or get around another EA game with the same issue.
