Lately my phone has Been shutting down out of random and I don't know why. In both cm7 and Franco.devoid. The LEDs would flash prior to the shut down. What could this mean for my phone?

It's a kernel panic. your overclock settings must be high. lower them a little and test.
It wasn't even overclocked. Stock speeds....

Can someone please help me. My Vibrant just randomly restarts or freezes mostly w/calls. I didn't have these issues until I received T-Mobile's OTA the other day. I came here and seen others complaining about the exact same thing. I then began to read the instructions, on how to get into Download mode and flash J16 through ODIN. I thought I was all good until my phone would start to reboot w/incoming and outgoing calls and randomly freeze on me. I thought it was an issue with that specific ROM so I flashed JC OC/UV ROM and yet the problem persist. Does anybody have an idea as to what the problem is? Oh, by the way I am ROOTED.

Had similar issues, used rom manager to boot into recovery menu, fixed permissions from there, then cleared dalvik cache and that fixed my problem.
Sorry! Didn't work.

Do you have any gameloft games or adobe reader?
My phone freezes like that whenever I've used a different kernel with Voodoo. But it sounds like you have the problem with or without a different kernel.

Yes I have Asphalt, and Avatar. I also have Adobe Reader™. Is that what's causing it? If so; what about those apps and games cause my phone to randomly reboot and freeze?

I'm also overclocking. However this was happening before I started overclocking as well.

Make sure your min setting in setcpu is 200 and set the Max to 1 ghz. Apparently some phones cannot handle OC'ing, mine being one of them. I personally prefer the stock kernel because I have only had problems with other kernels with or without Voodoo.
As for adobe reader, if you search you will find several posts regarding an issue whereby the app causes our phones to randomly reboot. Same with some gameloft games. I for a fact know hero of Sparta is no good in this regard.
Good luck

No thank you actually. I just went and got this SPB Shell 3D it looks pretty sweet guy! Im gonna run it for a few and see how my system reacts to it. Honestly it looks like its gonna eat up some batt and RAM as its soo graphically intense but our processor is pretty beastly and should handle it just fine and our screen really makes it POP.
- Im currently running Malice w/Overstock kernel OC to 1.2Ghz
I will continue to run it on this setup and post batt life here for you
I'll test it on Tigersblood as well and post batt life here for you too
GOOD FIND! and thanks again!
that's what i want cuz it's draining a lot of battery

what is your batt life like? and what is your current ROM/kernel set up?
just wondering cuz its def running my cpu crazy!

I'm liking the new KB5
Right now I'm using the bionix 1.3.1 with the spb shell 3d and the tigerblood 3.22 kernel, 225 apk running and saved in the tinanium backup pro, and my battery is working well... using it, it's during 6 to 8 hours depending how often I connect to the internet and play the games I have... I test the phone charged at 100% before a go sleep, I leave it like 8 hours and when I woke up, it only drop to 77%... This is working well for me... Almost forgot, the voltage control using the
Xtone's voltage values...

I use lookout.
I only get 1hour of battery. Then it dies. Could lookout be the cause?
Extra info.
Only overclocked to 1.2ghz -75 mV every freq. Screenstate consertive ondemand wake. Logcat enabled. Glitch v13.

If your android system usage is high, it may still be the culprit. Try uninstalling lookout and see for yourself.

My battery is very good right now. And has been for the last hour or two.

i dont find it necessary to have a antivirus on an android. as long as your careful about what you download then you should be fine. you could also just get a firewall to use on certain apps or if you have MIUI there is one built in

+1
Read all the review from Market for the apps u want to run. If still paranoid, search on xda first before downloading. No need for Lookout..
I use lookout, I have no issues with battery. I keep data off unless I need it.

As the above reads, my phone will shut itself down if I'm playing games or am on the internet. Usually its when I'm on tumblr and have gone waaaay down the pages. I'm running PACman 19.3.0, jellybean 4.1. I'd love to know if there's anything I can do, just short of reflashing to my old CM 9... Thanks in advance to anyone who can help!
Sent from my SGH-T959V using xda app-developers app
There could be a lot of things making this happen. It seems to happen more under heavy load as you stated, maybe try another kernel? Are you underclocking/undervolting?
Sent from my GT-i9100 using xda app-developers app
I was thinking it might have something to do with my clock speed. I'm not sure what is a safe speed to move it up to. I'm running at 1100 MHz right now. I think the Max on the scale is 2000. I was also thinking it could be battery related, as the issue does not occur when the phone is charging.
