follow this.

My previous post will work fine if instructions are followed, so why confuse matters further?

Yes, both these methods require a computer.

Doesn't get any easier than this:
Read the directions.
Read the directions again.
Read the directions a third time. If you do not understand a step, ASK before starting.
Download the script
Extract the files to C:\GladEnable. Do not install anywhere else. Having it inside a folder with a space will cause the script to FAIL.
Enable USB debugging (Settings -> Applications -> Development).
Connect your phone (I recommend setting USB Connection to 'None').
Run GladEnable.bat (If you're using Windows 7, run as admin by holding down control and double-clicking).
Follow the on-screen directions. You will need to tap "Allow" on your phone for each step.
Make sure you allow the superuser request on your phone or it WILL fail.
All done!
If you are having problems doing this, I would seriously reconsider trying to mod your phone. Is there someone you know who understands this type of thing more as it's a simple instruction set for downloading, extracting to a location, and installing?

Expected official ota

Will the ota that we are expecting give me the option to ignore the download or not install it or will it automatically download and install? I want to make sure I keep my ATRIX the way I have it for now.
Thanks

You can ignore it
On bell you can atleast.
Don't download it when it ask just press ignore. Other wise it'll tell you every hour about updating. Also there are several post about how to disable this notification. I'll post the links here when I find one.
Heck too much stuff to dig through but you should try to freeze the updater with titanium backup to keep it from hounding you. If it does that is.

You need root for WiFi Tether, and he can't root.
Just flash the cherry blur rom and apply your theme of choice.

re-read the op.
anyway, I'm not sure you'll have much luck without being able to change the apns.
I'm having the same issue. I have root but still can't get the wifi tether app to work. Superuser is installed but nothing. I keep reloading kernel files in the app but no luck. Tried both wifi tether and wireless tether.
Any help? Btw I was doing fine until the gingerbread update.

w/o rooting you won't have any luck, do this once you do:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1160452&highlight=tethering+2.3.4.
I suppose you can only get barnacle through applanet. Scanning it doesn't find the app in the normal market. However applanet hasn't been working for a while.
Anybody else have that issue? If you do please provide a fix.

Check this out http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1236779. It has the appprocess and systemserver from honeycomb. Just use the /system/bin files. Don't flash it use root explorer or something similar. If you flash it your phone won't boot do to libs it replaces. Phone seems much smoother with it.

Would this work if I flashed it on CM7?

This was going going to happen at some point anyways but can i get some more accurate directions?
Sent from my Powerwashed EH09 Fascy using XDA Premium App
Well as I happen to be on UKB2.1 at the moment I gave these a try.
With the Honeycomb files posted a couple posts above I was able to boot but after mounting my sdcard on the PC the phone wouldn't recognize the sdcard again when I unmounted it. I am a lazy man by nature so I just decided then and there that it wasn't worth my time to investigate further. YMMV.
With the Gingerbread files in the OP, at least I didn't have that problem. Gonna give it a couple days to see if anything is different/better.
The install process is to copy app_process and system_server from the zips to /system/bin and chmod/chown them to match the original files (chmod 0755, chown 0.2000 in my case for both). If you don't understand these directions you shouldn't be hanging out in development IMO but whatever.

I copied this using Root Explorer and it put me in a boot loop... I put the original files back with adb.. didn't fix it. I had to go back to stock froyo, update again to GB. Both times I fixed the permissions, I did it all right, as I've done this type a thing before.

No matter what anyone tells you. You can't use root explorer to put files in the system on miui or cm7. It just does not work.

There has been some troubleshooting for drivers issues go to my FAQ tips and tricks which is stickied and scroll down to Drivers Issues. Most likely if you have installed drivers of other android devices will cause trouble, second do not install sdk use the adb drivers provided with any of the root methods.

I was able to root the nt but i had to go into the reg on my pc and clean it out before it let me. I generally wouldn't recomend it unless you're comfortible working in the windows registry.
