There has been some troubleshooting for drivers issues go to my FAQ tips and tricks which is stickied and scroll down to Drivers Issues. Most likely if you have installed drivers of other android devices will cause trouble, second do not install sdk use the adb drivers provided with any of the root methods.

I was able to root the nt but i had to go into the reg on my pc and clean it out before it let me. I generally wouldn't recomend it unless you're comfortible working in the windows registry.

Coincidentally, I have a Mac as well and I use a program called Android Screencast. If your thunderbolt is rooted, you can control it with your computer. If it is not rooted, you will only be able to see the screen on your computer. This has worked on another phone I have used. Should work on any android.
If you're rooted you can download a VNC server for your phone, but I forget what it's called. Search for VNC server in the market
Thanks that is very usefull, I have rooted my phone and got vnc, remotemylc, logmein, and none of that seem to work. I could controll mg mac with ease not screen shoot my phone.

You should really try Android Screencast. It works great between my Mac and Thunderbolt.

You will need to buy a copy of Windows and install it side by side with your Mac OSX via Bootcamp
Best option is to Google it, Apple have a lot of information on it (its very easy to do)
Parellels should work as well. Very similar to bootcamp, but it runs inside osx.

Not really as Bootcamp runs a Native version of Windows while Parelles is Emulation software

follow this.
My previous post will work fine if instructions are followed, so why confuse matters further?

Yes, both these methods require a computer.

Doesn't get any easier than this:
Read the directions.
Read the directions again.
Read the directions a third time. If you do not understand a step, ASK before starting.
Download the script
Extract the files to C:\GladEnable. Do not install anywhere else. Having it inside a folder with a space will cause the script to FAIL.
Enable USB debugging (Settings -> Applications -> Development).
Connect your phone (I recommend setting USB Connection to 'None').
Run GladEnable.bat (If you're using Windows 7, run as admin by holding down control and double-clicking).
Follow the on-screen directions. You will need to tap "Allow" on your phone for each step.
Make sure you allow the superuser request on your phone or it WILL fail.
All done!
If you are having problems doing this, I would seriously reconsider trying to mod your phone. Is there someone you know who understands this type of thing more as it's a simple instruction set for downloading, extracting to a location, and installing?

[Q] Possible way to Root phone via app?

I was over looking the z4root app made a while ago. The app used "rageagainstthecage" to root devices. Now, thats pretty old. So maybe for all the newer devices we can simply replace the "rageagainstthecage" file with something like "ZergRush" and edit the apk's XML files to fit its needs. Would we be able to root devices up to 2.3.5 using this?

It may be easier for the designer, but wouldnt downloading an app and hitting a button on it be easier than connecting your device to your comp, downloading SuperOneClick, and running it?
I think it would be about the same, just consumes less time.
Also, thanks for giving me somewhat of help.(telling me it can work)

Galaxy S3 and Mac

Hey guys for some reason I am finding that no matter what I do androidtransfer will not work on my Mac with my GS3 . I have also tried airdroid which works ok but can only transfer files not folders. Are there any good alternatives that will allow me to transfer folders between my Mac and GS3?
i m using sync mate (full version) it works well even over wireless too
rest try sgs3 easy ums application you can find it on application/theme thread...
by the way what rom are you using ??? stock/custom??? ICS/JELLY BEAN???
You using Mountain Lion? I have exactly the same problem after the ML upgrade, so either Apple have changed something to break Samsung compatibility (conspiracy, maybe?) or Google need an update for the AFT application.

I am using Mac OS X Lion and I have the same problem especially now with Jelly Bean leaked roms.. Android File Transfer was ok and I was doing my job but now nothing... I just use my PC at work but this is no solution actually... So the ones running Jelly Bean roms on S3 what do you use in order to connect your device on OS X Lion?? I should try SyncMate and get back to you...

Name your operating system.Mountain Lion?Kies is not compatible with mountain lion

Used to work ok with Kies + Lion. But since Mountain Lion, no juice. I'm using win 8 release preview in a vm to do my Android stuff instead
Enviado de meu GT-I9300 usando o Tapatalk 2
The problem is that files installed by Lies interfere with Android file transfer even if. Kies doesn't work anymore but is there after the system update
You have to "install" it again and check uninstall to remove these files
Then android file transfer works like a charm. Did it both on my imac and mcbook

how did you get it to work?
