Hey guys,what's up?
So,question one is about Gameloft's games.I am getting a Galaxy S 2 some time soon,so this "issue" came up.I want to buy some games from Gameloft, but I saw that downloads are device specific. Now,if I buy, let's say,Assasin's Creed for my Desire HD,will I be able to download it again for free on my Galaxy S 2(If it works, don't care,it's just an example)or will I have to rebuy it?
Question two is in regards to FPSE.I bought it yesterday from the Market and face issues.Well,I open it,change some settings, set a bios and run a game(Digimon World 3 ).The moment the game is running my settings are reset. This also happens when I change the settings(only set bios and country) and restart the app. It's like I just downloaded it.What the heck is wrong?I realised it had problems after two hours,so a refund was not possible.Plus, today's update didn't fix anything.Any ideas?
Thanks!
In case someone decides to answer,I have another problem.
I bought Asphalt 6 HD from market.I start it and it downloads some 500mb of files it needs to my SD card, but when it's done and I press "OK",instead of running it fc's.Not that I manage to read the message that appears on screen,it goes away almost instantly. All I get is a black screen, the said message and voila,I'm back to my app drawer.Any ideas? :\
I thiiiiiink Asphalt doesn't work on GalaxySII. I haven't tried personally but in the GSII forum there is a thread on what games work and its definitely on the 'does not work section...'

Firstly thanks for answering,I was a little discouraged with the support I didn't get on the topic!
Secondly,I know that it doesn't work on the GS2(that's if you don't use Chainfire3D).I am trying this on my Desire HD,the Galaxy S 2 arrives tomorrow. It also says that the download fails and I have to continue but it seems broken for some reason.Pretty ****ed up.
I brought my HTC Evo 3D from sprint and the spiderman 3D game from gameloft was there. I upgraded and brought the full game, now my phone is rooted with a new rom. Can i some how get the spiderman 3D game back on my new rooted phone?
Gameloft game's are device specific. They have a different APK file for every device, and each different APK file will ask their servers for a slightly different set of SD' files.
When you buy a game off them for a certain device, they will let you download the same APK as many times as you like. But they will not let you buy for one device, then download the APK for another device later.
Unless you bought the game from the android market of course, buy from there you can download as many times as you like from as many different devices as you like.
A theory why Gameloft games don't appear on the Android market all that much.
If you bought the Desire HD version from gameloft and it doesn't work I would contact them.
If you didn't and got the APK elsewhere, its version 3.0.9 you need for the desire hd, if you got any other version it would of downloaded the wrong SD files and would explain why it doesn't work.

Yeah...Well,thanks dude. But this thread has been long buried and forgotten.I've found the answer,no problems now.I gotta admit though, not being able to download the apk as many times as you want is a little bullshitty.

What exactly is it that is blocking certain apps on the market? I understand the general reason: That the market doesn't believe the NC is the compatible device. What I'm asking is, what developmentally needs to be changed (build.prop maybe?) to allow more market options. It's a pain to manually update all the sideloaded apps the market won't recognize, and the AppBrain method only works for those who were smart enough not to upgrade to the new market, since it disables the "Fast Web Installer". I'd love to look into this. I know changing build.prop directly to identify as a different device is supposed to mess up the drivers somehow; what else could be done?
Edited to add: Why is it that market enabler doesn't work on the Nook Color?
The market is based on your location. Developers can limit who can see their apps to download based on region. The market will only show apps working with your android version. If you are on android 2.1, it will not show android 2.2+ apps. In addition, older android market only show like 10 apps in portrait mode.
sorta off topic but has anyone tried these

The Market looks at multiple things on your device. It ranges anywhere from the version of Android SDK you are using to the device's location and the device type.
I've found the best method to solving this problem is to use adb to pull a copy of your build.prop file and edit it.

Thank you for this. I can not wait to get home and try it. I recently switched to the 950 Mhz Kernel posted by Geniusdog254 (running very nicely btw) and Angry Birds quit showing up in the market.
I was curious as to what else I was missing. I would love to buy and install Dungeon Hunter 2, but the only .apk's I can find online are cracked ones and it's not in the market at all for me. Hopefully this helps.

Dungeon Hunter 2 is only for the iPhone right now.
When it is available, you won't find it in the market. Gotta go directly through Gameloft.
As it stands right now, there is no way to legitimately purchase a Gameloft game for your nook. It doesn't view the nook as a compatible device. You can't buy it for your phone, and transfer the apk. That shows as an invalid copy.
Take a look through this thread:

Lots of Gameloft talk.
Thanks for the heads up. I have DH 2 on iPhone but would be fine with the original on NC. I would love to be able to buy it instead of trying to bypass all that.

Yeah, I'm totally with ya.
There are even a couple of games I would be willing to purchase a second time, if they would let me.
So I really enjoy MIUI but it seems all my over-priced Gameloft games aren't compatible. I sent in a refund request via email to gameloft but instead they gave me a separate download link to one of the games, and it works perfectly. (it's not linked to the market version, but it's the same)
However I have a few more games, does anyone have any suggestions on how to make these games work with MIUI? (edits to the rom or .apk maybe?)
If not I'll just go back to TW or OMFG, but I thought I would try here first seeing as I really want to stay with MIUI.
(the reason I don't try to get them to send me download links for my other games is because that took a month, tbh I didn't think they were going to respond so I was already on TW.)
Thanks if you have any suggestions
Okay, I did some tinkering and got all my games to work. I just replaced the MIUI build.prop with the one from OMFG, +1 google.
Weeoooo!

Plz give me a link to this new file (build.prop)
I think this may be my first post on XDA. I roam XDA, Rootz, and AC all the time but rarely find a time that I can contribute to others so I generally keep to myself.
Absolutely love my TP running CM9 alpha0.6...
From time to time I have issues with getting apps to work. Normally I can figure out a way to get the app side loaded and working but this has not been the case for GTA. When the app first hit the market I paid for it and downloaded. I have always got the same message after opening the game.
"Unfortunately, GTA III 10-YEAR ANNIVERSARY has stopped."
Obviously i have downloaded the data files from a site and put in the correct folder on my "SD card"..still no luck.
Maybe I have downloaded the wrong data .rar files? Which ones are working for others?(I read HTC Sensation files work in other threads)Where did you download them?
Are there any changes I need to make in order for the game to work?
Any suggestions would be helpful...i have wasted a lot of time on this.
Was helped by another member. Went through the market to update the app. was able to download the files and play afterwards.
I have the same issue with the Madden 12 app. It starts downloading some 300MB update, but then just quits and tells me to try later.

Since I never wiped my SD card when upgrading from CM7 to CM9 all I had to do was install GTA and it launched using the files downloaded while on CM7. On CM7 I had downloaded the files on wifi, not sure if this works in CM9.
You can find the files already downloaded in an archive on the internet, just pick the correct GPU brand and it should work if you can't download on the Touchpad.
I have download the data direct from Wifi with no problem at all !
If you have save data, you can backup the file from "/sdcard/Android/data/com.rockstar.gta3ger/files/GTA3/GTA3sf*.b" before you re-download the data.
Hello XDA.
I have done every possible thing, but I just can't make this game work on ICS. Is this a general problem or what?
If someone knows a fix, please post it here!
Some details: The game launches, shows me the yellow EA icon, takes me on to the opening cutscene, then loads and plays menu music, which has a slight lag in the beginning of it. Then nothing... After a while the phone kills the app, no error message.
Again ICS is not yet released you have a buggy beta test rom multiple problems .

Real racing 2 doesn't work on gingerbread, nevermind ICS.
Unless they have recently updated it, it crashes a few seconds into a race.
The work around was to not use cockpit view.... But this is the one I wanted to use.
The comments on the android market seemed to show similar problems from users with SGS2.

Kinda funny. They make the best game on Android (imo) and then they break it.
Way to go, EA/Firemint
I've just read a comment saying it's finally fixed for SGS2
Time to give it another go

Agreed, I've had consistent FC's with Real Racing and that goes back to GB ROMs. You'd think EA would either update their software or take it off the Market. Bummer too, Real Racing is a kickass game in iOS. I'm on a i777.
I know this is in the galaxy s2 section, but it works perfectly on my HTC sensation, and I'm on ics now. So it's not the os at fault, but could it be to do with the tegra chip or some other hardware compatibility issue in your phones?
not for me either
Hi this game didnt work for me either im running
Galaxy s2 i900
Ics 4.7.3 final rom with siyahs 3.2.3+ rom
Same problem installed great downloaded updates all 9??mb of it only for it to load and fc on me too first i heard of this game looked awsome too

Have same problem after ICS update, tried to reach EA several times and no success. Also tried to refund on Google Plaay for the Real Racing 2 and no success..
So we have to wait an update, or a work around solution.
There is a new version floating around which works on ICS. Real Racing 2 v1.11.4.000540 HD. It is not available in the Google Market (play store) yet.

Compalitible with Galaxy S2 ?
Real Racing 2 is available free for the Galaxy S3 on the Samsung App Store. This Version did run on my GNEX as well. I had to sideload the 400 mb data file and turn wifi off. Otherwise a stupid alert would pop up.
Works on the S3 perfectly. Works on the GNEX with the workaround. I cannot comment on the S2 behaviour...
Bearing in mind that there IS a version running on ICS, we should see somthing on the Google Play Store as well...
version 0.00540
this version works just downloaded and i didnt actualy start playing but it went further then previus when it freezed after intro video
search for this on google becouse i cant post the lnk..
Mod Edit: Removed link because of warez
ok so (sorry this one is going to be long and it isnt just about the game anymore im honestly curious whats wrong) but let me start by saying i have been trying to install sims 3 or sims freeplay and of course neither show up in the market..so i decided to edit the build prop to see if they would show up then, and of course they did...so i tried to instal freeplay and it allowed me to download and install, but when it was trying to download the game from ea/s servers it gave an error..so i got curious and went into about phone and looked at the model number it was still ADR6425LVW...now on my galaxy nexus when i changed it to GT-I9300 the model number in the settings changed also..i assume the game wouldnt download from the servers because in the market both games are "incompatible" as they say originally before i edited the build prop..i assume that since the model number is still ADR6425LVW..ea still sees that and gives an error where as the market sees what i put in the build prop file and allows me to download the games..i have put the build prop in notebad and searched for anything related to ADR6425LVW and the number exists nowhere in the build prop so i am wondering why it will not change? anyone know whats wrong? to be honest i dont even know why the game isnt available because they cannot say its the screen or the processor my galaxy nexus plays the game just fine..idk if anyone has any idea whats wrong do you think you could help? because i saw one guy edited his to the desire hd and even on google play it says his model number is the desire hd..
.props give me migraines bro. Here's a free bump, hope you get it working.

Decided to spend a couple hours scratching my head and find a solution.
I haven't been able to figure out how to get a working download from a build.prop edit either. Nor can I find the SD data files for the latest version of Freeplay for download. But you say you have the game running on your Galaxy Nexus...:
http://blog.yellowchilli.net/2012/04/how-to-solve-ea-games-server-error-5002.html?m=1
Try copying data files to the Rezound. Still may have issues running the game itself to solve but that gets you one step closer in the process.
Good luck.
