This to me is the best hands down keyboard on the market. I had been trying to metamorph my swype unsuccessfully and came across this bad boy. Best feature is you can theme it with better keyboard skins. Give a try and let me know what you think." Heres the free version

You can also use smart keyboard skins. (Search google for "Smart keyboard skin")
Copy the skins (.zip) to /sdcard/thaicomcenter/themes
The skin will be shown on "Settings/Appearance/Theme Color/Theme"
thanks. looks useful.
thanks for the heads up on this...ill def be playing around with this at work today
This keyboard isn't even the half of swype. Innacurate like crazy. Unless there is a way to adjust speed and accuracy I don't approve this thing

A few hours ago i bought the "Ultra Keyboard" app from the market (you can get a free 24 hour trial)
Its alot better than the defauilt keyboard with alot more options.
i find the default keyboard is good. because of the small screen.
but you could always try better keyboard.
How about swype. Its great and works fine on wildfire.

It seems that you won't find any .apk of this soft, better keyboard or any "cracked/paid once for 10M users ) as it's illegal.
Although, i'm using Better Keyboard with the iphone skin (every Better keyboard skins are FREE, better keyboard WORTH ITS PRICE)
I find it "more" accurate than the default HTC keyboard, I set my phone to "micro-vibrate" each time I type a letter, disabled auto-correction and thats just PERFECT!
Also, you can "scroll" the keyboard from right to left & versa to easily switch the "qw/azerty" keyboard to the "1=ABC / 2 BCD" keyboard, and thats awesome when you're drunk / lazy / not in the mood / have an hangover... tested and approved
I like the "Scandinavian keyboard". Its awesome, especially if you live in Sweden, Denmark etc.
I use slideIT keyboard. Its better than the default HTC keyboard.
Any keyboards with smileys enabled in sms? Just like the htc_ime mod by jonas.
The issue is that htc_ime mod isn't built for a small screen like this.

Hey everyone on xda,
I've been looking for a good keyboard that gives a good amount of space for typing. I don't care for the word prediction/auto correct features I usually turn those off because they're more of a bother than something that helps. I have tried swype (was ok but never truly cared for it) and the gingerbread keyboard (currently using, but the keys are a little to small) and I would like to know what your preference is for a keyboard.
TLDR - Which keyboard do you prefer?
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
if you flash axura, it comes with a modded htc sense keyboard which is awesome. The only bad thing about it is it doesnt respond as fast as gingerbread keyboard.
I personally like swipe and the GB one. The stock samsung keyboard isn't so bad either it offers plenty of space. Like stated above, you might like the HTC one here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=624416 look for the right one. There's some screenshots in there as well.
I'm a big fan of SwiftKey - currently half price on the market ($1.99 down from $3.99). I know you stated you don't like prediction/auto-complete, but SK's is terrific. I find myself able to type much faster with it than any other keyboard.
Alright thanks for all the replies. Would I be able to take the .apk file of the htc keyboard from the axura rom? I have looked at the swiftkey keyboard but I don't feel that spending cash on a keyboard is worth it when they're great keyboards that are free.

I also like SwiftKey and the voice input on SK seems to work better than the one on stock Android keyboard.
Bump to see if I would be able to take the HTC keyboard apk from the Axura rom and push it onto my phone through root manager.

this is htc_ime. just download and unzip. install the apk like you normally would from your SD card.
if you feel adventurous, use the htc_ime keyboard kitchen to make a custom keyboard for yourself. its super easy.
hit thnx
Thanks for all the replies and the link .
Edit: Can't hit the thanks button the xda app doesn't support it <.<

then just google HTC_IME XDA and it should be the first link that come up.
Logged into Amazon App Store and they have it free for today as a promotion. This is one of the best predictive keyboards around. Just thought I'd put it out there.

Cool, thanks. It's better than the stock keyboard, but Swype it's more my cup of tea. It's cool to have another alternative for the keyboard!

Cant get Amazon App Store in Canada
Just wondering if some one could post the .apk for the swiftkey as in canada i do not have access to the amazon app store
I cant seem to get it to show me suggestions...
[Edit] I got it. It had to download some language pack. I like typing in landscape now
Sent from my MB860 using XDA App
Problem with it compared to better keyboard is that it has much less preferences. The ability to change the key size on Better Keyboard, and basically customize it exactly how you like it makes it great.

Amen, epically the new beta swype. And you have arrow keys for it if you swype the squiggly thing with the pointer finger on it to SYM. It makes it to where you can play a flash game that involves using the arrow keys (almost every flash game).
No other keyboard does that!
I wanted to stick with the stock 3vo keyboard but ready to give up. What keyboard app do you like?
Swiftkey X. Has light, dark, neon skins. Works flawless IMO
+1 for SwiftKey. I've been using it for over a year. It just keeps getting better. If you let it learn from your txts, it's uncanny how little you have to type when sending a txt. Often I'll only have to type one letter in each word. Sometimes, not even a letter, as the word I want to type is already in the suggestions. And, SwiftKey is the free app from the Amazon app store today.
I had been using Smartkeyboard and love it. Still do. Downloaded Swiftkey x today (Free in the Amazon app store today!) and liking it so far. Pick it up today!
SwiftKey x is beast its everything the sense keyboard and stock android keyboard is but better Definetly get it off the amazon market while you can

SwiftKey X is great. I better than the stock htc keyboard. It is free on amazon Appstore today July 21th. A day after the beta expired. So i was happy when I checked in to see what the free app was today.

I literally bought the keyboard yesterday cause my beta ran out, kinda pissed that I didnt get it for free, but 4 bucks aint bad and I gave the dev some money to keep up support, so oh well...
Thanks
Got it free!
+1for swiftkey X !!
i just grabbed swiftkey. not a fan. i have gotten use to using the t9 keypad. i dont really have to look while i text, with this i have to constantly. been using smartkeyboard for a while. so far i prefer that, but i wont toss it just yet.. i will give it a few days see if it sinks in to me
Damn I want swiftkey no credit card where I am and cannot get to it damn
A root craving Evo 3d
Get the amazon AppStore get it for free

I used SwiftKey. It has glitches... Sent double entries and it would glitch. Doesn't work with Firefighters... Little stupid things. I've been using Swype 3 lately. Kind of like a new hybrid

After using Swiftkey, Swype, Better Keyboard, HTC Stock keyboard, I would say my personal favorite is the stock gingerbread keyboard. Swiftkey is okay.
Where can i get a stock gingerbread keyboard that fits the 3vo screen??
for once i like the stock keyboard on my phone. and on the 3vo the stock keyboard is both touch and swype so thats cool to.
but i used to use Smart keyboard. don't understand how to use thumb keyboard but that seems to be everyones favorite
I had purchased thumb keyboard for my tablet so i put on my 3VO.
I like it. Gives me the ability to customized for portrait and landscape. It also has some intereting layout options like a split over and under for portrait so the keys aren't too small. I'd say its worth a try for all the options and themes if nothing else.
I didn't care for Swift by comparison. It just seems that thumb keyboard offers more for me. Stock is pretty good too.
Definitely Swype for me. I don't text much, so being able to use one finger only and quickly is a huge boon for me.
I'm trying out swift now, and and i think the stock keyboard is pretty great, especially with trace enabled. But an old favorite of mine is Ultra Keyboard. That thing is so customizable.

+1 swiftkey x is the best
I'm constantly being 'auto corrected' by this damned keyboard. Many of my texts invlove abbreviations and acronyms and they always get guessed to the nearest real word. I have to go back and re-type them back in. I don't want to have to add 60 words to my dictionary. Is there a way I can turn off auto-correct, or a different keyboard app you recommend?
Cool story bro
Download another keyboard like SwiftKey or Swype.

Man i feel your pain , couldn't believe the trouble i was having with the HTC ONES Keyboard also , i really wanted to kee a complete stock look , but i just couldn't take it anymore , so i just downloaded swype from the playstore i've acyually been using it for quite awhile now , on my s3 , and man what a difference , i would highly reccomend it SWYPE , it used to be free now its 1 dollar .................
I have always liked SwiftKey keyboard. Now it has flow built in so you can swype or text. This keyboard allows you to type with a lot of mistakes and it does a really good job fixing it. The swype keyboard in the play store works really well for swyping but typing normal on it doesn't work near as good. Depends on how you like to text more. I switch between both of them all the time.

I can't understand complaining about the keyboard on an Android phone when there are tons out there to change to.
The stock keyboard had Swype too....
I actually really liked this keyboard compared to my stock s3's.
I love this keyboard.. I have used all the other major ones and always come back to AOSP. But then I got the One and I love it. No issues and it's integrated with Google's voice keypad and is slick. No complaints here at all

yah, this key sucks so bad. auto correction is terrible. slow response, will even "backfire" when you send the text cause you to stop for a bit and retype. weak!!!
