Hey,
I had the stock 2.1 on my vibrant.
I upgraded a few days ago to Vibrant AOSP ish JK2 1.1 Official FROYO (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=832532).
After the upgrade I had 3 issues:
1. I have an fm trasnmitter in my car, and I'm connecting the phone to it. Works for music but doesn't work for calls. It worked before, and my earphones also work.
2. Couldn't get to recovery mod through rom manager.
3. the GPS is still not working.
It's funny that I currently more upset about issue 1, because I already accepted the fact that my GPS will never work + I think I'll stick to this rom in case I'll find a way to make the audio out work for phone calls.
Do you have any suggestions?
Thank you.
Try reflashing the rom. Go back to stock again, and repeat the whole process.
+1 to dj's idea

I am running the current leak of Froyo... if I bluetooth connect to my car audio system for hands free calling I lose all external sound when I disconnect. I have gone through all the audio settings with nothing appearing out of place. The first Froyo rom I tried redirected the ringer out the earpiece, the new leak kills it completely. All ideas welcome.... I will try anything. Thanks in advance!

I'm having the same issue. each time I connect to my car's bluetooth audio and made a call, I'll lose the notification sounds. even calls won't ring.
currently had to resort to phone's speaker function, but that won't do.
am scouring the net for some answers, and will update if i found anything.
Samsung Galaxy S
How was there no reply to this? I have had the same issue on every samsung vibrant 2.2 rom, including custom roms. now i am having the same issue on my stock galaxy s 4G! Help?
Bump!
Running Nero on Galaxy S.
Same problem with Vibrant + Froyo 2.2
Sounds strikingly similar to my experience with my Samsung Vibrant running Froyo 2.2 + custom Axura 2.3.1.3 ROM.
After disconnecting any bluetooth device, in some cases the phone's speaker is completely muted (media/system/notification volumes all cranked to max) until I either reboot or make a voice call and enable speakerphone.
I've hunted high and low on the webternets for a solution and have come up dry.
I smell a bug.
Same problem Stock Vibrant 2.2

Thanks, I guess - at least I don't have to keep rebooting since the voice call/speakerphone workaround gets my sound back. This is a PITA.
I have the same issue in MIUI_Au since 1.10.x revisions (previous versions worked OK). I had exactly the same problem 6 months ago with Villain ROM and it was the reason I dumped it. It seems to be a CM7 issue...

Thanks for that...keeps me from having to reboot. And I'm even running (embarrassingly) the 2.2 update direct from Samsung. Need to finally take the time to root…
I have CM7 Trigger Redux build 13 with glitch kernal installed. For awhile now I've routed my audio to my car with an audio cable to listen to pandora. Since I've put this new rom and kernal on, I've noticed that there seems to be intermittent crackle with the audio which seems to only occur when the audio outputted through the cable. I've downloaded voodoo control app and played with the settings but nothing seems to be working to remove the crackle. Is there anyone else facing the same issue and is there a fix? Thanks
I have this same problem too, but I use a headset. Its only when I use a custom kernel (I believe) that I will get this problem. Since you installed Trigger CM7, he has a custom kernel in place, I suggest switching to CM7 nightlies to try the stock kernel.
Thats too bad, I really liked this rom. Would it be possible to simply flash the stock CM7 kernel on Trigger CM7?
hzm i just flashed my phone with this one and I haven't tested in my car yet. I'll do that and report to you guys soon.
Before I say anything, this is the best ROM I've used for any of the devices I've owned. Simply for the fact that I would rather fix it than flash with something else!
Anyway, the problem is my phone no longer works with my car for media streaming through bluetooth. Worked fine prior to flashing with ICScrewd 2.01. It does pair and the phone functions works otherwise.
Is this particular to this ROM or something else? This is a very stripped down build, which is why I liked it.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance,
Sarelon
I can add one thing to this, for the first 3 days and 4-6 reboots after upgrading to 2.0.1 (Flashed 2.0, and then the 2.0.1 upgrade later) anytime I would connect my stereo headset (RF-MAB2) the phone app would FC, I would lose phone signal, data, and bluetooth/wifi. They would all come back 30s-1m later, but upon reconnecting the bluetooth headset and hitting play on an audio file it would play, but no audio would come through the headset or the phone speaker. On the other hand my Jawbone Icon connected and worked just fine at all times, no crashing of the phone app or anything else.
One problem though, when I decided to go and capture a log file of it happening .... it ceased to happen, and hasn't happened since, with or without the alogcat running. I'm completely baffled but do hope we can fix this so it doesn't happen in the future.
i think it might be a 2.3.6 issue but i could be wrong. were you on 2.3.4 when it was working?
I experience this same problem with my bt and my alpinew900 rich has tons of bugs anyways...

So are my options non-existent? Will it be supported soon, is there any ROM close to what you built with BT HID support or am I going back to stock?
Again, fantastic work on this ROM.

It's kernel dependent

I just recently installed SHOstock2 1.0 (Updated from CM7.2 RC1) and when I use bluetooth devices, whether it be a headset, in-car hands free, or a BT speaker dock, the bluetooth connection fails after about 60 to 90 seconds.
What's odd is that the phone's bluetooth status icon appears as if it were connected to a device, but I am unable to reconnect the phone or any devices until I power cycle and/or reboot the BT device and, often times, the phone itself.
I searched through the fourms and it doesn't appear that many others are having such an issue. I'm assuming it must be something unique to my environment, but I can't imagine what.
Could it be a side effect of coming from CM7 without first flashing back to stock? Do I need to run a utility to clean up the phone? (I've seen discussions of a kernal clean-up script, for example)
The rest of the SHOstock2 installation appears to be functioning properly. Wifi is good, Email/Gmail works great, phone calls are loud and the sound quality is excellent. Camera works well.
Any ideas of what I could try to remedy this? Thank you!
I'm currently using shostock as well but I have no bluetooth devices to test this on. However I believe the kernel cleaning zip can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1428530 . I think it mostly just wipes your cache / dalvik cache a couple times though.
Hey everyone,
So this issue has been ongoing for a while and it's a pretty confusing one. (Running OG Pixel from Canada, originally from Telus)
My speakers and microphone suddenly stopped working when I upgraded to Android 9. I thought it could have been a hardware failure, but after much testing it's clearly software related.
I bought a Bluetooth headset, audio works when it's rooted to a Bluetooth device, but the microphone still doesn't work.
When I go into settings, and adjust the volume for the ringer and the alarm, my speakers work.
When I boot into safe mode, my microphone works for one recording, then stops working. However my speakers don't work in safe mode.
I have flashed an OTA recovery, done a factory reset and also uninstalled updates to the phone, sms and camera app in a hopes it was an issue with one of those.
Any ideas of what it could be?
Do I need to install TWRP and reflash a custom rom?
