I have a Motorola Atrix, which seems to be a great phone, rooted and running GingerBlur.
I'm on AT&T.
When I am connected via wi-fi everything is fine.
However, when not connected via wi-fi, the phone works (I can place and receive calls) but I cannot browse the web, corporate email won't sync (it reports no data connection), etc.
Signal strength is not an issue as I always have 3 - 4 bars.
Also, in settings -> data manager -> data delivery -> email and corporate sync -> email delivery -> sync over wi-fi only is not checked.
I have checked this option and unchecked it, rebooted, etc and still with no luck.

Check that you have the correct APN's http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1070288&highlight=apn+list
Thanks for the reply.
It turns out the AT&T didn't carry my data plan over when I upgraded.

hi to every one.
i have a question is there any on out there who is using energy rom build 29 on hd2 because i am using it and problem is that when ever i wants to send or recive emails from hd2 despite of wifi connection it starts to connect to data connection and ignores wifi .is there any ssolution that emails will be loaded just using wifi if data conn is not available and data conn if wifi is not available thanks
settings - menu - all settings - connections - connections - advanced tab - select networks
The connection chosen in the top dropdown is what programs that can auto connect to the net use, for example email, and is usually by default set to 'my isp' or (example) 'O2 mobile web' or something similar, , whatever your phone has called the data connection.
The bottom dropdown is what other items such as browser use, and is usually set to 'internet' or 'the internet' or somesuch, and items accessing using this one will first try wifi and then go to data if no wifi is present.
Try changing the top dropdown to match the bottom one, see what happens.
Also, if i remember correctly, if you edit the settings for the email account, you can choose which connection it tries to use by default, have a look there, see if you can pick 'internet' (or whatever your bottom dropdown says) as the default connection. (EDIT - in fact i know you can, because i used to provision my email settings manually when flashing winmo, and one of the entries deals with default connection UID, so go have a look at the email accounts settings first before trying the above tip.)
Also dont forget that, (although it is less common nowadays, ) some network providers only allow sending email from that account when you are on their network. For example my virgin media POP email account in the UK, will only accept outgoing messages when I am using my wifi account, and will not allow me to send when i am connected to the net via my phones O2 data account, and you get a 'relaying not allowed' response, which can confuse things.
(Im working from memory, havent run winmo in 6 months, so forgive me if something isn't worded quite right)
thanks bro but......
hi thanks bro for your time .bro i changed settings as u said but no luck and i tried to find email sertings which would allow me to use wifi as default for emails but i could not find those settings in email.and when i was using stock rom 1.66 then every thing was alright but i like energy rom.
wot should i do bro and thanks for ur coment again.
thanks bro
thanks for ur help indeed it was helpful .i again looked in to settings as u described and it worked now no problem at all
thanks bro
heh cool, yr welcome.
Yesterday, my phone was working fine. Today, I wake up and instead of showing H or E in my signal bar area, I just have the bars which are full.
I can send and receive texts, but no photos. No webpages are accessible, email won't sync etc. But I can still make and receive calls as well.
I'm running Neutrino V2.5. This morning I flashed the 36P radio (from 30P) in hopes that might help. Didn't change anything.
Not sure if any of this is needed but here it is anyway:
Signal Strength - 93dBm 10asu
Mobile Network Type - HSPA
Mobile Network State - Disconnected
Wifi is still working fine as well.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
Luke
I'm experiencing the same issue. Not sure what's going on. I went into settings to search for available networks and it's been "Searching" for like 15 minutes. Behind the "Searching" dialog I can see two options for AT&T and looks like one for T-Mobile. If I try to press back to cancel the search, it just takes me back to the last screen. I've also tried resetting APN. ugh.
Check the APNs configurations you might have to set them again.
I read over Atrix Dev that there's a weird bug in Neutrino ROM 2.5 that remove the APNs.
Settings -> Wireless & Networks -> Mobile Networks -> Access Point Names
Hope that helps
Hi, I just got an S3 a couple of weeks ago and it's an amazing device but I've ran into a problem. When I'm on Mobile Data I do not receive notifications for any app, be it GMail, Email app, Facebook. If I turn on wifi they work perfectly. Here's a list of things I tried.
Enabling Sync option On and Off
Clear data and cache for Gmail, Email, Facebook
Made sure there no limit of Mobile data or that these apps are restricted from using the Mobile Data connection
Switched from ICS to Jellybean
Factory reset after I put in Jellybean
EDIT: My carrier is Orange.
Browsing the net and manually refreshing the apps for new content works.
What could be the problem, guys?

Your carrier can't be 'orange' there's no such carrier... do you mean your carrier is AT&T and you're 'orange' to them? I used to work with cell phone companies and I know AT&T works with three different colors, orange(AT&T), Blue(Cingular) and Red (Cell One) The colors are only a way to separate the old customers who were bought in with the buy of the other companies from the new ones and their plans.
In any case... Mobile Data on, what do you have it 'on'? Are you running 4G, 3G, E or WiFi? Your phone should tell you at the top.... it sounds like even though you have your internet on, it's not getting any data 'signal'... data signal and phone signal are very different, although you might have full bars to get calls, your data may not be transferring through and that's why you're not getting your e-mails...
Your Sync needs to be ON to receive e-mails and you also need to go into your e-mail settings and make it check for e-mails at SOME point, maybe an hour or every 5 minutes, it's up to you on that one.

Orange is a UK carrier and other parts of europe
Or it was until they recently changed their name to EE
Found out the problem. Orange Wap was selected instead of Orange Internet in Settings > Access Point Names.
I've just done an RTN factory reset and cannot get wifi calling to work. If I try to enable it through the app, I get one of two things. The first if I try through settings or the wifi calling app is Connection error: Wi-Fi Calling cannot be configured because internet access has not been established. You may need to open your browser to sign into a Wi-Fi network. This shows up as a popup, and happens no matter which network I try (they all have Internet btw) The second option is a Settings FC when I try through the notification. Any ideas?
This was the first thing I've tried after the factory reset: no root or any custom apps.

I had an issue getting WiFi calling to work out of the box, here's how I fixed it.
- Forgot WiFi network I was trying to connect to
- Log onto my Sprint account and remove WiFi calling from my plan (click "Change my Services" from the drop down menu associated with the G3 then select the "remove" text next to VWDOM0 - Domestic Voice Over Wi-Fi Unlimited)
- Wait a few minutes and keep an eye on your phone; you'll receive a pop up saying "Changes Saved" or "Profile Updated". Something like that
- After I got the pop-up I entered ##SCRTN# in the dialer (phone will reboot and update profile)<----- (I have seen where ##UPDATE# works as well so maybe try both)
-Once my phone booted up and settled in I entered the WiFi Calling menu through the dialer app; I signed into my home network and went through the activation process to add WiFi calling to my phone
It worked for me after that. However it recently stopped working for me (last night) and all I had to do was enter ##UPDATE# to fix it

Tried it a few times. Guess I'll try calling and see if they can remove Wifi calling on their end to get it to work. I had a similar problem with GV in the past and they had to remove it on their end.
After calling and having Sprint remove wifi calling for me, it all seems to be working now after following @fergie716 's instructions.
Background:
LeEco LePro3 (LEX727) bought a year ago and in service since that time.
Not rooted. (Nor do I wish to root, if that was even possible.)
Use Nova Launcher for better desktop experience
StraightTalk on AT&T network. Indoors, usually shows LTE with 2 bars.
"Fully patched". LeEco EUI version 5.8.021S. (No LeEco Android updates available since 1/2017 as they pulled out of the USA market.)
Android 6.0.1.
Android security patch level January 1, 2017.
Handset worked fine for many months.
There was no obvious change or trauma to the handset (no drops, skills, weather exposure, etc.)
Lately, there have been data issues when WiFi is disabled.
(Everything still works with a WiFi connection.)
Not all features work with the StraightTalk/AT&T data connection when WiFi is disabled.
StraightTalk/AT&T data function details:
SIM card status
Signal strength -110 dBm 27 asu
Cellular network type LTE
Service status Voice: In service / Data: In service
Cellular network state Connected
Phone works (can make & receive calls).
Simple text messaging works (can send & receive texts)
MMC messaging works (can send & receive MMC texts)
(Ookla) Speedtest App works with good speeds.
Google Chrome browsing does not work "ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE"
Firefox browsing does not work "Secure Connection Failed The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading."
Gmail does not download messages, sent messages are stuck in Outbox ("Queued")
Google Maps does not work "Can't connect to Maps".
Google Play does not work. When searching for Apps, "No internet connection. Make sure Wi-Fi or cellular data is turned on, then try again."
Troubleshooting steps taken:
Adjust AT&T APN settings used as per StraightTalk Tech Support.
Change out StraightTalk/AT&T SIM card with StraightTalk Tech Support assistance.
Factory/Hard Reset with reinstallation of all accounts & Apps.
Anyone know how to fix my web data issue? (Or know what further tests/observations to make?)
