hello
ive recenlty purchased a streak and was wondering if anyone has had this problem
ive imported my contact list off my sim card (i couldnt do it from my old sd as it corrupted ) now every now and then ill go into my contact list and itll wipe all the contacts and then re-add them
i did have to update the phone when i got it, which doubled up my contact list, but i had to factory reset due to not allowing me to enter 3g settings and now it does this
any ideas?
not to worry
i was browsing on here and i decided to download go contacts and all is fine now

I'm getting duplicate contacts. Sometimes it happens during sync. However, here is the thing, often it does this when I restart the phone. So after it boots, I go to the contacts list and I can see it blowing through there. Is there ANY fix for this? (vent - for 10 years this has been a problem with these devices). Does it have anything to do with the SIM card (I haven't loaded contacts on it, it's new from Cingular). Is there any way to prevent it from writing to the SIM?
So after having continuous data issues with my Vibrant I, at the recommendation of T-Mobile phone support, went in and got a new SIM card (they said the ones with a TM**** number on the contact side is known to resolve phone issues). After the swap I am no longer able to log into my primary account (a gmail FYD service) or facebook. It gives me the red rectangle with an exclamation in the top taskbar. It continues to tell me incorrect password.
I spent an hour in the store and another hour on the phone with tech support and they're both telling me I'll have to do a factory reset. Are there any alternatives?
Thanks!
Hello, all!
Here is the problem... I was traveling abroad with my SGS2 and was using domestic SIM that I bought locally. Once I received call from local number that my phone detected not in international format (like 891XXXXX). I have added this number into my contacts using full international format (+791XXXX) and everything was fine as long as I stayed abroad. Now I got back home and tried to SMS this number from my contacts.
Unfortunately, even in contacts the number is in international format, Messaging application for some reason every time takes the old one (891XXXXX).
I have tried delete messaging thread and create new thread from number stored in contacts, but this bastard still takes old number (stored somewhere I don't know where).
Has anybody got such problem? Is there any solutions available?
Regards,
Dima
I have found another thread describing exactly the same problem. So far, it's unknown how to deal with that.
Obviously if you want to txt the international number from your home country it has to be recognized in international format so what you could do is delete the number from your phone and rewrite it in international format to your sim card then copy it to your phone.I imagine now that you are back home you have a local sim card again but if you havnt changed it then check that you dont have the old number on it.
Hi all,
I recently lost or had stolen my S3. Its on t-mobile uk. Its been reported and blacklisted. Unfortunately due to the battery nearly dead and having it blacklisted and maybe the sim removed i could not track and wipe via Samsungdive. Could anyone please advise what will be visible on the screen etc. T-mobile have said only the phone connection, mobile internet and sms are essentially blocked. Im concerned about other data such as already downloaded emails, texts ect being visible and navigation around the phones file system being possible. Would someone be able to look at email apps(system default, gmail and yahoo) or the text app on the phone? Also if a new sim is inserted, would that by any chance effectively create a new profile thus preventing anyone from viewing my old emails and texts etc. I have changed all my passwords. However im thinking of transferring all my emails to new email accounts, deleting the emails from the old accounts and setting the passwords for the old email accounts back to the same as on the phone. Then if the phone connects by wifi the email apps should hopefully update and delete the emails on the phone. Of course hindsight is great and I know I should have had a phone lock in place.
Cheers
A
If you didn't have any lock at all then everything on the phone will be available, IMEI locking will only prevent the phone connecting to mobile data, making calls or sending texts. Inserting a new SIM won't remove anything.
If you had set the email client to leave emails on the server then you can download them to your pc, delete them from the server, which would delete them on the phone if wifi connection is ever made.
Unless you had your visa card details on speed dial I wouldn't worry too much, it's probably already been factory reset and sold to a mug in a pub.
Thanks for the reply. Ive just noticed....... I changed my google password as a precaution. Ive just switched on my nexus7 and of course it asked for the new password. Therefore I guess if the lost S3 makes a wifi connection it will also ask for a password.
Edit** Sorry it asked for the password because I was connecting to the play store not upon switching on the nexus
Helo all! I know i am a noob here so i doubt anyone will help but.... I have an issue!
First, thanks to all who worked and figured out how to root and get JB on the Tmobile P769, awesome job!
Before reading any further i should state i searched the heck out of this subforum to find my answer but either im using the wrong search criteria or noone has ever run into this before.
Here is my issue, after rooting and flashing to JB all the contact info for my messages and phone calls is lost.
Basically both of these will only use info from the sim card and NOT the joined contacts i have set up in the phone (profile pic, ringtone, fb, ect). When i save said contacts to the phone (again) and rejoin them, it gives me multiple phone profiles but after i reboot it goes back to reading from the sim card.
For those i dont have on my sim card everything is fine and the joined contact info shows up.
Obviously i could just delete all contacts from my sim card as a fix but i was wondering if anyone had this same issue or knows how to get around this? Am i missing some option in the setup to push contacts from the phone and not the sim card?
Also, on the Contacts tab under settings -> display options -> choose contacts to display: i have it set for Custom; Phone/Starred/Facebook.
Thanks for helping me with this annoying problem and i hope to help others with there questions in the future as a return!
just wanted to post that some how i magically fixed this.... im not sure what i did tho! haha.
I was deleting contacts from my SIM card, it crashed, came back and everything was fine. Short of not recognizing my sim card and needing to reboot the phone, it was like magic.
Thread can be closed as im not sure what i did to fix and wont be able to help others if they have the same issue.
