Is anyone having issues/know how to fix root apps hanging? It only happens with root apps but I open them and they are just a black screen, so I wait and eventually force close. I think all my root apps have done this at least once, but mainly have problems with:
CPU Spy. 8/10 hangs.
Autokiller memory optimizer 2/10 hangs
Set CPU 1/10 hangs
Use about 8 others but they have only done this maybe 1/100 so not too much bother.
Am wondering if its something to do with superuser apk.
CPU spy is really bugging me, any help/advice much appreciated.
Edit: CPU spy works fine once I get it going, until I reboot, then it gives me grief again.

First when you root your x10 you need to restart your x10 before rooting any app.

What is your phone running at the moment, a ROM or SE Firmware? And your baseband, so I can figure out your problem better.
Did you overclock with set cpu, that can mess up things?
Am running wolfs v006 with custom kernel, however these apps used to hang before I installed new kernel. So yeah I use overclock, but only last couple of days and had this problem like forever lol. Same issue on Z's freex10 beta 4.
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
I have an idea that is a slight idea, how about you reflash the ROM and not put any modifying system apps on the phone and carefully watch which apps you put on the phone.
Did you do a nandroid flash back up to restore your settings in the ROM? Also, did you properly wipe full system, all caches before flashing the ROM? This could of been your issue too.

Yeah I have backups for about 4 different roms so that's no prob. I think its autokiller doing it tho, will uninstall all root apps and try one by one.

Was set CPU. Now using CPU master its all fine, and am saving about 5-10 seconds off my boot time. Guess it wasn't working well with my setup!

Hey everyone,
I've been searching around on this, and haven't had any luck thus far.
I'm running CELB 2.8, and have set CPU running. Every time I wake my phone from sleep it seems rather slow, so I click my setCPU widget to make sure my settings are correct. Every time I open the app it says its given SU permissions. Does this mean that my settings aren't sticking?
I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling it, but to no avail as it still does the same thing. I have it installed on the phone and not the SD card. Has anyone else experienced this issue or can duplicate this? Thank you!

Flash setcpu 2.1.
Hmmmm. Could have swore I had 2.1. I have 2.01 lol. Thanks.
Sent from my Eris using XDA App
oh I'm sorry I'm a moron lol I meant flash superuser 2.1, not setcpu 2.1. Keep your setcpu the way it is.
Haha okay. Thanks for the help. Works like a champ!

I've tried setcpu a couple of times, but for some reason after a phone reboot or something else, setcpu seems to loose it's settings.
Anyone is using it?
Any issues?
Thanks
I'm using it, but it does hold the settings.

I had the same issue but instead of using auto detect settings i used generic qsd and its been spot on since.
Might wanna try that
Your guys should check the "set on boot" box in the main menu.
After that, set profile and remember to ignore the setcpu if you are using task killer apps

It was still losing its settings which was very strange, however having it set to a pre configured profile (QSD) its been fine.

your phone needs to be ROOTed, there are some post where you can find how to Root your phone
Phone needs to be rooted and some superuser versions have an issue remembering settings at startup. Versions 2.1 and 2.3+ don't have the issue. Pretty sure it was the 2.2 versions that have the issue. (It happened on both nexus and x10).
Edit, just wanted to clarify that Im talking about the version of the superuser application.
Hi all...New here and...French
So, I've got a question, a really simple one tho but anyway. I do have Freex10 bata 4 and GG 1.4 on my Xperia and setcpu is already install. The version is 1.6, and I want to know If I can update to the lastest on the market safetly ?
Thanks for any responses !
Great information everywhere here too in fact !
You can update safely Furilax
What's a good (safe) clock-value to set it to for maximum performance? I don't care about battery drain, as it is charging for more than 18 hours a day.
Thanks guys!
Why does the phone lag to the point of barely working?
Sent from my X10a using XDA App
Well, for starters tell us what your running.
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
Must be on stock 2.1.....
I haven't had lag at all in a very long time. Do yourself a favour and try one of the froyo roms...
I also will lag a lot sometimes, a lot that even the launcher will restart whenever i go back to home from an application. So I check the free memory it's less than 30mb even though I used autokiller memory optimizer setting (60,70,80). Thus I check the apps run, nothing wrong with it. I reboot and run those apps again, and I still left ~90mb ram and it back to normal (fast).
P.S I am using 2.2
Weird, I seriously cannot think of the last time I had any lag at all....
The only time I get any is when the phone first boots up for like a couple seconds before the sd card reads, then it is fast as hell.
What rom are you using? Could it maybe be an app you have?
I'm on the stock 2.1 with Rogers.
even killing all tasks doesn't help when it's lagging bad.

Oh god, stock 2.1 sucks. Do you at least have jit enabled?
try to change to 2.2.1 ROM, I use CM 6.1.3 and it's awesome!!!
it will lag when the gallery tries to cache all the photos in your memory card. You can't do anything about it(well i don't know what can you do to remove the lag).

No I don't have JIT enabled.
It's not even when I'm loading any photos. Even if I'm in handcent_SMS the thing slows down to a halt. Very annoying.

As the title says, my p500 is awake almost 100% of the time. Even with the screen off (please look at the attached image).
The only apps running at startup (used Startup Manager app to check it) are Go weather, Maps, Market, Minimalistic text and Quick System Info Pro. On my home screen (Go Launcher EX) I use Go Weather, minimalistic text and Winamp widget, nothing else.
Is there somewhere I can look at or maybe some app I can install to see what is causing it?
I'm using Mik's CM7 6.5.5 and franco.kernel v16.1 bfs (this one gives me almost 30% more battery life than the newer versions) and running at 729/245mhz Smartass.
Uninstall maps and you'll be back in action
Sent from my LG-P500 using XDA App
I can try that but I've always used Maps and it never happened before. Sure it eats some resources but I dont remember it causing the phone to be awake.
Uninstalled maps and phone is still awake.
Sent from my LG-P500 using XDA App
Reflash the kernel. And I agree with you.I found the V16.1 better than the later updates

PROBLEM SOLVED
I was planing on sending the phone to repair on monday, but at the time and with the phone here i didn't want to give up so i thought of rooting it and reinstalling the firmware, but nothing worked and the phone didn't recognize that it was connected to a computer. So i kept search other ways to reinstall the firmware and came across a website that talked about a "secret menu" code for the phones and i remembered that this phones must had one and that from there i could do something, i did. From there i did a factory reset and, unlike the ones i did before by going to settings-privacy, when the phone rebooted it told me right way that it was connected to the computer. I also tested the problem with the screen light and so far, so good.
So, if anyone else has this problem(sannielyk reportedly had) what i did was entering the "secret menu" code : 3845#*500# and did the factory reset from there.
Apparently it was a software problem or something that wasn't installed right by the lg service. But so far everything is good, and i hope it keeps that away.
Thanks for the help

I think I've found the villain. I started manual proccess of uninstalling apps and letting the phone sleep for an hour or so to check awake times. After I removed Live Holdem Pro the phone finnaly slept through an entire hour.
Still have to test through a complete battery cicle tho.

I close it too, even disabled it on autorun, but it has some kind of auto-restart and eats resources even if you dont run it's widget.
Guess I have to find another poker app. Damn... had about 21millions...
the app that cause that problem is "radio fm"
after i uninstalled it, my phone is a new phone
So why do you need help?
I too have the 100% Awake problem, i manually killed everything but with no luck...

Yes, I have tried it. It helps when you do not use 3G/HSDPA. As soon as u enable internet and browse the net and after that disable the internet, the Fast Dormancy process starts to drain the battery again and again. Disabling the Fast Dormancy does not always work.
I swhitched to 2G and then it stopped draining the battery, but it is not the solution, as I can't live without 3G/HSDPA... Don't know what to do
I installed 2.3 but my x10 kept on rebooting after a few seconds on, so i re-flashed 2.1 it is more stable but reboots when i open a app or do something that requires a good bit of ram. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
If you have a lot of apps installed and only a little bit RAM free this happens. Try to move your apps to sdcard and install unnecessary.
And one more question. How old is your battery?

i am on 2.1 right now as 2.3 keeps rebooting as soon as it starts up, so i can't move apps to the sd card, i thought it was the battery so i recently bought a new one, so its not that, i think something might be wrong with the firmware, or it could be as u said with he Ram.
